Hey! So Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s ethnic background is Sri Lankan Tamil. Her parents immigrated to Canada during the civil war so she may identify as more Canadian than Lankan. Either way it is lovely to see her doing so well. Thank you for featuring her on your channel ☺️❤️
I was going to say she likely speaks neither Hindi or Punjabi, and if anything Tamil.
As a fellow Ramakrishan, I was cringing so hard at those bits.
kind of both, i remember seeing one of her interviews with lily singh and she does seem to be very in touch with her tamil roots
I really like the fact that you DON'T push expensive skincare. That's why I like your channel. I don't have much money AT ALL (probably less than the average person has) to spend a month on skin care, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to take care of my skin and have a skin care routine. I'm like you. I prefer products that are priced affordably and that work. Thank you so much for offering options for people like me that don't have a fortune to spend on skin care products. I cannot believe how much this celebrity's skin care routine is! Crazy! Especially if you're getting products that aren't truly worth all that money. I feel like some who share their skin care routines, do it just because they want you to know that they are using a moisturizer ECT that was $200 dollars. The average person who is not a celebrity, doesn't have that kind of cash to hand over. I appreciate you being down to earth and relatable on sharing products that we can afford. It makes skin care feel like it's possible for everyone, instead of just people with money to achieve.
I'm not sure if it’s that they want people to know, or just that it’s not expensive for them. If you make $2,000 a month, $200 is 10% of your income, that’s a huge amount for normal people. If they make $20,000, that’s just 1% of their income, that’s like $20 dollars for normal people.
Also, Never Have I Ever is a tv show about a teenage girl of Indian descent in high school and shows how she balances school and all the teenage girl ✨ things ✨ and her family’s culture/beliefs. It’s a really, really good show. It’s so diverse too. I love it.
We need a "never have I ever - skincare edition" 🥺
Finally eminence gets a shout out! I have a bunch of their products from the spa when I get facials. They helped a lot with my cystic acne.
Casandra your punjabi just won my heart. Lots of love from India🇮🇳 ❤
3:34 No one under the age of 30 will ever understand the struggle of dealing with severe acne during a time when dermatologist and other experts were still not on CZcams to guide us through the bs.
Yes we can. I'm almost 21 and had to go most of my life (and still have) with backne since I'm 11 and facial acne (never specificaly cistic, but it was too much). These ttpe of videos started getting more known around 5 years ago, but most knew about them in quarantine (3 years ago). Let's not act as if there were such a difference.
And these videos help but mostly if you live in the US, Uk, Canada or Australia. Personaly I only get the info of ingredients but in my country (Argentina) the range of products is minimal and extra expensive. And usually we get stuff that people would buy somewhere else. For example, if in 1st world coutries people mostly use 1 product for their face but a different one for their body but only talk about the facial products then we only get mid facial products and terrible quality body skincare for an exagerated price.
An average salary (coming from the internet) is around ars$70k white the La Roche Posay 1oz salicylic acid serum costs around ars$13k. An average 1.7oz/50ml spf costs around ars$5k. Calculate that percentualy with an average salary in your country.
Ofcourse in the US people have waaay more options but if someone is around my age (almost 21) they'll tell you about how people would recommend toothpaste, using ice directly in the skin, diy masks with lemon, strawberries, coca-cola, sugar, banana, etc that would do nothing or ruin your skin. Would talk about that black peel-off mask that would make you cry and never about spf and that is suppose to be used on a daily and is suppose to be reapplied for it to work. I literaly didn't know about the spf part until I was 19 and most people start getting the worst sunburns younger and willingly.
Ofcourse we found the help sooner, but it's not like we didn't struggle.
genuinely speechless by your Punjabi. 😆love it
Omg Cassandra saying "SoniKuddi" is the cutest thing ever ♥️
For years I have been visiting a well known dermatologist who is also a professor of Derm at UCLA and a research fellow. In fact, he is the person the FDA goes to first to test things like Niacinamide was run through him to determine it's effects on skin. He says the same thing as Cassandra! Do not be afraid of chemicals vs "all natural".
Also, Cassandra, you should watch Never Have I Ever!!! It’s such a good show 🫶🏼
I 2nd this! I binged the whole 3rd season in less than 24hrs 😂
She's actually from Sri Lanka. She told that later in the video.
Loved this video! I believe Maitreyi is Sri Lankan and speaks Tamil. She might not even speak Hindi! Also I would love to know how/why you know Punjabi! Thanks!
Cassandra speaking Punjabi is the cutest thing ever!!
I love her! glad to see her doing a skincare routine video 😃
She is so so calm and chill 😎 🥰
We love a linguistics queen! Why do I feel like Cassandra would want to learn Sanskrit
Cassandra you look incredible as always
We love this routine! Thank you for sharing Cassandra 💚
I’m SO glad she name dropped the Strawberry Rhubarb Serum!!! This product has been my true love for literal years. Simply amazing.
I never imagined you could be soo good in speaking Punjabi😍
Kudos to you. Loved your video!
Loved how you legit said Punjabi the way it is supposed to be said. With that accent! This was a fun video to watch ❤️ (nothing new in here, everything you post is fun)
Hi Cassandra 😘
Oh my! Let's play Never Have I Ever skincare edition. I'd be down for that!😍
I love watching your videos Cassandra. You’re so awesome
Kombucha is in several Korean essences it’s really good
when you said pretty girl in punjabi I LITERALLY SCREAMED - i love you ahhhh
"Soni kudhi" awww..this was adorable Cass..
Bless you
I LOVE Eminence. I've used it for YEARS and it's literally the best thing ever
Me too, I was planning on getting more of their products. I think they are worth the price the quality is so good.
Eminence has a brand new line of products that is literally a kombucha line so this is extra hilarious! 😂 I’ve just started using this brand this year because my esthe uses it. Would you consider doing a video on eminence and which ones are good and bad?
Omg! Punjabi! Love you more 😘😘
Dudeee whenever she uses any hindi words I feels like she is hugging me through the screen 🥺💗🫂.
i love her 💗💗
Where is everybody ?
I'm here 👀
Doing my skincare 🥰
I know- weird. I rarely ever watch her videos and the one time that I do, no one else does lol
I use either banilla ZERO cleansing balm (makeup days) using it as 1st cleanse... or palmers cleansing oil (no makeup days) I message the oil and reg cleanser (cosrx low pH or hydro boost) then ad water .. makes my skin silky sort and just like it better that way
Your hair is looking good.
Hiii Cass! 💜
There are some kombucha skincare products, which essentially have black tea ferment 🤩✨
Wow u have surprised me again.. u speak other languages.. besides beauty product languages.. this is one of my favorite videos from you. U made me laugh and cry and admire u so much. I would love to play never have I ever with u casandra.
OMG Cassandra how are you so fluent with Punjabi…we would like to know in one of your upcoming videos. I being an Indian can’t speak Punjabi. So kudos to you babe…your a live wire in all your videos.
So in India as the state changes the languages change…in fact sometimes it differs in different parts of the same state with an interesting mix at the borders of the states too.
Maitreyi does speak Tamil as her parents are Shri Lankan. Tamil is also spoken in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The commonality is because sri lanka is a neighbouring country.
I have a serious issue with eye makeup removers. For years trying different things and I still have to rub too much. I honestly use coconut oil and remove it with a face wash gel. Works better and I rub my eyes a lot less. Also, would love your opinion on this: I use green tea and coffee on my face and body.
Hey so just an FYI as someone with incredibly mild Tuberous Sclerosis Complex it is NOT a skin condition, it is a very rare genetic disorder that can CAUSE skin conditions like Shagreen Patch, but it can also cause other skin conditions as well as benign abnormal skin growths or "tumors" to grow all over the body including the eyes, heart, lungs, and brain. It also causes dental issues, brain abnormalities like seizures (usually developed in your 20s), and even autism and other learning deficits have been linked to TSC. It also suppresses the immune system making us more susceptible to illness - we're not fully immunocompromised but we do have to be careful about catching illnesses because of how easy it is for us to get them. It can be inherited or idiopathic I guess is the right term??
Just in case anyone gets the wrong idea from this video about what TSC is if someone is either diagnosed with Shagreen Patch or suspecting they might have it specifically because of that one skin condition because I believe Shagreen Patch isn't always a definitive signifier of TSC because, as I've said, it's a Genetic Mutation Disorder and not just some skin issues that can arise out of it. (and not everyone with TSC even has skin rashes like I had Shagreen Patch once as a kid that was scraped off which is what made them suspect TSC but I haven't had it since but I DO have abnormal bone growths on my abdomen as well as probably other parts of my body so... yea).
I would looove to see a reaction video of Tati’s new skincare video!!
YES you are finally reacting to eminence products! I used to use them and they did NOTHING for me. Their acne line was hella expensive and did nothing but dry out my skin. Help😭 im glad you like them but Im never getting them again really expensive for very little
How about trying to cut all milk products out of your food and also extra sugar
They work for me was planning on buying some more.
Which acne line? Clear skin probiotic or Acne Advance? Not all forms of acne respond to their lines. Try the eight greens serum for hormonal acne, if you have multiple types try the image MD Restoring youth repair cream with basic cleanser and moisturizer. I like La Roche Posay cleansers and the Neutrogena hydroboost moisturizer.
I need a full eminence video please. I need you’re opinions on it 🎉
You and that kombucha...soooo adorable. Omg. 😍
What is the tinted sunscreen with vitC you use? Looking for shortcuts in the morning too!😄
Cassandra love frm India
Septum piercing is so beautiful. The small rings people wear these days are discrete and cute, try them 👍🥰
I LOVE EMINESCE
There are Kombucha skincare products! I thought you’d know of one, which is my fave: Dr Cereucle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence. SO GOOD.
Love the punjabi Cassandra 💛 it’s so amazing
I love the, Never Have I Ever, Netflix series so I'm excited for this one
Dr.Ceaurcle (?) have a kombucha tea essence that is just lovely.
Best of luck Cassa!!WUV YA
Just to put things in perspective, this lady is 20 years young... if one doesn't suffer from a skin medical condition at that age whatever you put on your skin, be it the best antiaging product or the biggest scam probably won't make any visible difference.
Can you do a review of the Image Skincare brand? I currently use their products. Would love your knowledge!
Fan from Japan 🇯🇵
Here for the 🍵
I LOST it at the kombucha 😂 I laughed so hard my partner AND the friend he was gaming online with DEMANDED to know what was so funny.
You should watch the show. Her character’s mom is a dermatologist.
I wanna play skincare never have I ever. Being in my mid 30s having developed cystic acne around 8 or 9, I've put my skin through a lot!
Cassandra speaking Punjabi healed my acne
Cassandra you sound so funny speaking Hindi and Punjabi 😂
Honestly, we will see if these products work for her in 20 years. Currently this girl is incredibly young - and having a genetically very good skin. She doesn’t really need that many products, her skin hasn’t even start to age, and I personally think that if you don’t have issues with your skin that need special treatment, it’s not a good idea to get your skin used to cosmetics with active ingredients.
Yeah there isn’t any reason to get younger people into skincare given it’s preventative and what-not. Let’s wait till there’s a problem.
She's 19 I believe
Idk, as she said, she has to have 14 hour days on-set with heavy makeup- her skin might look really good because she's very on top of it and properly cleanses and takes cares good care of it. My skin would look awful after 14 hours in makeup
Wow super impressed with the Punjabi!
I love eminence!!!!!
Can you please suggest some good Drugstore basic skincare product which are available worldwide????
I double cleanse my face but mascara is really difficult to remove so I still have to use an eye make up remover even though I use a cleansing balm and then go in with my Cervi cleanser is there a oil cleanser I use the elf cleansing balm
Hmm...the eye makeup remover looks like lancome bifacial and judging from the very blurry flash I thiiiiink the eye cream is estee lauder resilience multi effect but I can't be too sure on that since it was so quick.
Aren't you the cutest... 😍😍..
Well she is south Indian bt m sure she understood ur Punjabi juz like i did.. Love frm 🇮🇳❤️
Can you please do a video on what eminence products are worth the price, and what products are better to buy elsewhere? Also which products are best for certain skin types!!
Can you please do a video on products from eminence orgánica that you do recommend. I love their mangosteen hand cream
Omg your hindi is so perfect 🤩🤩🤩
yes to septum cyster!
Thoughts on Algenist products??
Cassandra! We mizz your curlay hairzzzz
Eminence has an essence it’s called birch water purifying essence.
Does anyone know what ever happened to that “all natural” brand called Realto? It use to be popular in the mid-late ‘90s.
Love frm india
Ramakrishnan that is. Please!
your Hindi Punjabi is so cute ❤️❤️
Could you do a review of the ClarityRX line? Asking for an entire team of Hand and Stone estheticians. ;)
Mae ny bohat piyar kr deya! 😁😁👍
I had no idea who Maitreyi was, but looking at her name, I deduced that she was South Indian/Tamilian, so I looked her up, and turned out that she is Tamilian of Sri Lankan origin, and considers herself to be Tamilian-Canadian. As a Tamilian myself, it’s cool to see our community being represented by Padma Lakshmi and now her. Since she is Tamilian/Sri Lankan, I doubt she speaks Hindi, let alone Punjabi. Actually, Hindi isn’t a very popular language among South Indians. Even though it has been unofficially given the status of a national language, it isn’t officially so, and it’s quite a divisive topic among North and South Indians. That being said, I’m so impressed by your Punjabi! I’m no expert on vocabulary, but your accent is on point! We need a story time on how you learned the language. I remember in the Kate Moss video, you said you could convert to Indian rupees, so I need you to spill😂 Maitreyi’s routine is so expensive😮
P.S. I know you’re Ukrainian. I’ve been living in Ukraine for the past 8 years with my Ukrainian husband and son. Sending you hugs💙💛
Have you seen that eminence came out with a kombucha line?
Sohni guri love it😍😂🫶🏽
It's funny when you said you hear the word scrubber it can be daunting but yet in the UK scrubber is an insult and means dirty 😂
Cassandra your Punjabi is beautiful!!!🥹✨🥰
I want to play never have I ever skin care edition
what about the skin decision? do the things nurse Julie use really work?
Can you check Sireni Overnight Overhaul from Chloe Morello? Think it would be really interesting 🙂.
Emo Kuhssandruhhh 🖤
Does anyone have a link to the discord please?
Funny u mention kombucha .. Eminence is or just came out with their new kombucha skincare line. It has pre and probiotics ..
I love Never Have I Ever although the clif hanger on the recent season makes me want to punch the producers in the face. LMAO. I highly suggest y'all watch it if you haven't. It's so good. 😂❤️
Is no one else thinking it...why is the bread in the fridge?! 🤨
Hey girl, there’s a misspell in the title
Did you ever tried Omirovicza, also Hungarian brand, cruelty free. Love them but are a bit pricy. If you ever tried them and have any thoughts or ideas of dupes, would be great. 😂
Hiii so I have a question, I’m a vegan for a while now and I read a lot about soy and acne, and I know, a lot of things can cause my acne, but when went vegan I feel like it’s been worse, so as a vegan, do you think that soy cause more acne?
she speaks this language called Tamil with Sri Lankan dialect which is completely different from Hindi and Punjabi. - Love from India
