Your video motivates me when I've reached my limit studying.
Must. Travel. AND. EAAAAAAT.
Sweetbutterflykripperino Honor to family? Pfft. I study to so that one day I can experience the world.
sorry bud, I'm not your stereotypical Tran :).
Me too. I just want to finish collegr get some money and travel and eaaaaat!!!
Hope my law course pays off in future cuz I wanna travel & eat from around the world ! 😀
Myeongdong is usually just for tourists. Dongdaemun has a better night market, Namdaemun market is really good for traditional Korean food, and Hyewha has food stalls that are much cheaper than Myeongdong. Trust me! I live here ;)
Thanks! Just what I need to hear. With the way the £ is falling, every Won counts...
thanks a lot ... i'm going to Korea in December and hope to try some real Korean food :D
May I ask for your advice, where would be the best place to eat and also have fun on Monday night? would Namdaemun better or Dongdaemun better or Hyewha better? I only stop by Seoul for one night, so I hope to be able to go to one good place. I like night market, and I Love Korean Food.
Hyewha is nice because it's not touristy and it's kind of a college town because a lot of universities are there. There are a lot of theater shows, although most of them are in Korean. Dongdaemun has a good night market but it can be very crowded, even on a Monday. Hongdae is a good area to have fun, but there are lots of college students. I like the stop before Hongdae, Hapjeong, better.
cutiepatootie66 thank you very much. Is the subway/train easy to use? Do they have English? I don't speak or read Korean, is it going to be hard?
OH GOD, THE INFAMOUS TURKISH ICE CREAM MAN
Tj Locke if that happened to me, after a few times I would just walk away.
HoMaster Zerg it's all part of the fun! it's the whole gimmick with Turkish I've cream. But I don't like to be made a fool either way, so I just avoid them entirely. if I ever end up in Turkey I might give it a try but I prefer my desert without a side of public embarrassment.
Ashley Gisinger I've seen a few videos, and apparently they're like that in Turkey too. Sigh. I really want to try that ice cream, but I'm not willing to go through that.
Revina Que it's starting to become a thing in the US as well. Not ice cream in particular, but I know of candy shops that are famous for embarassing their customers and there are restaurants that have the shtick of being outrageously rude to customers...To these I say, "who asked for this??"
Ashley Gisinger That's terrible! I'm guessing that there's a market for it, but I would personally avoid places like that at all costs. I prefer to not pay for people to embarrass me. :P
Love the way you eat your food and describe them! Hope you had a great time in Korea🙂🙃
hyuneeEats omg I never thought I would se you here XD HIIIIIIIIIIIIII .3.
Hay
Hay sexy
WAAAAAAAAH HYUNEEEATSSSSSSSSS
hyuneeEats collab with him
Definitely want the Strawberry mochi, that looked amazing! I've been craving mochi the last few days.
And the savory pancake thing with bonito flakes looked like a variation of Okonomiyaki without the mayonnaise.
I bet that Taiyaki would have been delicious with only half the amount of ice cream and honey.
I've had something like it without the bonito flakes....that Is the only thing that is like Okonomiyaki.

He is a food spy.... slowly taking over cuisine one dish at a time... or in his case like 20 dishes at a time lol.
I miss Seoul, I was stationed there for 2 years in the early 90's. I loved the night life and the night market street vendors, so much food.
Ldunk did you get girls

Lolz, he's a food junkie! 😀 Kinda cute how he gets so hyperactive and talkative after the super sweet honeycomb icecream and waffle! 😁
That mochi with the strawberry inside is actually called Daifuku's in Japanese.
Many dishes sold at the Korean night market were Japanese based
it's not japanese based, it's japanese.
and in the video there was about 2 of japanese dish, and one was rather disappointing.
Myeondong is so touristy most Koreans don't go there. I've never seen Takoyaki or Daifuku sold as street food outside of Myeongdong. Maybe in a food court in a mall, but not on the streets. I guess in Myeongdong they sell Japanese food because there are a lot of Japanese tourists? But that makes me wonder - what's the point of going to another country if you're going to eat your own country's food?
Evenstar i know right its so cringeworthy when ppl do tat
i went to korea when i was 10. there were industrious buildings but it was not as advanced as japan or the usa. its amazing to this video and see how far korea has come in terms of food, night life, fashion, cleanliness, etc.
I'm 28 yo. I said "when i was 10," which is around 1998.
M Jung Korea reinvents itself every 3-5 yrs. Korea's ability to reinvent itself at the drop of a hat is the reason it went from worlds poorest economy in the1950's-1960's to modern economic powerhouse it has become today.
surprised you haven't heard of bonito flakes!
Bonito flakes go well with takoyaki as well.
Haha the first time I saw them as a kid, my initial reaction was "It's aaaaliiveeee!" xD xD
I want bonito fish
I heard about bonito flakes and their movement so when I received a takoyaki I would be like, "oo lala.."
when I had takoyaki those flakes freaked me out, but tasty.
I love green tea . the food looks amazing
That egg pastry is apparently extremely Korean, but also kinda new? Check out Maangchi's channel for some info and a cool recipe, and just awesome Korean food in general.
it is not new.. i am Korean and I remember I had it when I like 6. it's been around over 30 years. That one looks little different from one I used to eat. the whole egg used to be completely surrounded with bread. but nevertheless, it is good.
He should be in an episode of eat Jin
yes!!!
That would be a very interesting episode 😹💜
Haha..yep....💜
😂😂💜
5:06 "more asians doing asians squatsss" LMAO!
you should do a prize, where you bring a subscriber with you to these food extravaganzas!
Irrri Descence u r very pretty
You are living my dream. I wish you and this channel the best and keep going strong!
There's a brunch type place in Myeongdong hiding in a tight spot. Only one person works there, and it's the size of a six tatami room. My family and I (5 people) each order some hefty food (I had waffles), and she cooked and served us in less then 30 minutes from a small kitchen half-hidden in the back. It was some of the best food I had in Seoul. She was magic, and I'll never forget her.
love your channels mike! thanks again for the awesome content
Man you are awesome! After years on CZcams your the first food blog that is entertaining to me! Subbed for sure
Good video, looking forward to more, Mike!
You should go to Japan for a food tour!
If you had a show on the Food Network about just you traveling and trying different foods and giving your thoughts I would totally watch it
You are so awesome, and I think you're a great role model. You bring me joy by seeing someone I could relate to.
I love night market food. My husband and I went to a great night market in Chang Mai, Thailand.
If Mike says something is really spicy, you know it's INCREDIBLY FREAKIN' SPICY.
If Mike says something is spicy: Then it's a freaking volcano
Loving your night street food vids!
I'm heading to Korea in September 2017- so looking forward to seeing the market

Im very excited to watch every show. Its like im travelling too but free!
thanks for taking us with you on this journey! Very enjoyable
This vlog was amazing as always👌
That dried fish on top are bonito flakes which is a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine and can be found in a lot of Asian supermarkets.
Seoul is on my bucket list!!
Thanks Mikey this was really entertaining! You have such such a way of describing food that makes me want to try it too!
Who's filming him when he eats in the streets? The camera is like moving like someone is holding it, but who!
Probably his wife
DEAD Shot . he's not married. Do you see a ring on his finger?
@@nicolebriant98 well his girlfriend then u happy
Japan and Korean share a lot of cuisine together. The fish waffle cone you got is "taiyaki" from Japan, it is festival food. The fish flakes on the pancake is the bonito flakes and I think they brushed okonomiyaki(Japanese "pancake") sauce. Korea of course added all their own flair to the Japanese stuff :p, Korean spice is next level. If you moved to Seoul you would be in Heaven XD.
Dude I enjoy every vid u make! I think this is one of the best foodie channel. Nice job!
Great video !! Love the beginning 🇹🇷
Love your videos!! Thank you for always giving ideas on the prices of the foods you are eating!! 💓
I haven't ever thought of visiting Korea. But I do love street food. and I loved Mike's review.

I am literally addicted to your videos
super huge fan of ur work Mike.. u bring smile to everyone that I showed ur video.
Great video! Loved the mochi and tea shop :)
I love how this channel actually tells honest opinions, unlike other channels. Love it.
The egg and sweet bread is called 계란 빵 (gyeran bbang), and as you said it is definitely one of the best street foods to try. Used to buy it everyday outside where I used to live.
I love all of your different channels! These videos help me out so much as to what u might enjoy when I go to the international market! :-)
I used to live near Myeongdong when I lived in Seoul. I see they've upgraded their night market street food. I just miss tak dong jeep, barbecued chicken butt. Mmmmmm! so good!
Going to Seoul for a few hrs on October 30 to meet my friends..... Can't wait. Thanks Mike

0:07 When he was joking around giving you the whole chunk of ice cream, one can be a total jerk, lick it or sneeze at it and he have no choice but to give them all to you lol. Just don't return there anymore haha
Then you need to pay 72 ice cream worth of money ^^
