- In this video my friend Anna and I take you with us on a little walk in Norways most beautiful city Bergen. We take you to some places that most tourists miss out on when they visit Bergen, and share some of our hacks to having a good day here even when it rains (which is often). I hope you like it!

There is so much charisma between the two of you. I loved this video.
Sometimes the rain here gets me down, but generally it is just part of the charm. Makes the 6 sunny summer days that much sweeter.
Thanks! So glad you liked it. The rain can absolutely get to me too, I live in a much sunnier place now and I have to admit... it's kind of nice. But on the other hand I still love a rainy day in Bergen
Please give us more! Bergen Tour Part three or anything you like! You are the best! ❤❤❤ Friends, coffee shops, saunas, swimming in the ocean and laughter forever! Be blessed!
Looking forward to the next time we do this! Glad you enjoyed it
Hello from the UK again Maria ☺. Our recent shared loss/grief will never go away but its lovely to see you laughing and smiling again, and not looking so tired.
Sending love, light and Solstice Blessings ☀️🐞🌻🌹🐞🐾 xx
Thank you my friend
You make the rain and cold something pleasant and you even swim in the cold water, and the best thing is definitely the coffee from Brazil.
I recently moved from Dublin to Bergen, thus, I had experiences of rainy life. But, I heard a lot of Bergen rain and complaints, today I went to a cafe and as usual it was raining and I was telling myself, I really need to make a good relationship with rain and started to enjoy it without hearing other people's complaints! Surprisingly, your video came to my suggestion on the same day! It seems like CZcams can read my mind! The only thing I am missing now is a good company to go to a cafe with 😬😔
Wow, what a coincidence! I think you are right to try and change your mindset about it, I hope it works and that you find some company to enjoy the cozy cafe days with
So nice to meet Anna today and see her wonderful artwork 🥰
How cool that you visited!
Hi Maria, thank you for bringing us along to enjoy Bergen! Id love to see you show us around the mountains next.
Noted! We will have to do that next time
You know Anna is a good friend when she laughs and films you with bird poop on you. 😂
Such a nice tour of Bergen! I really want to go there! Here in The Netherlands we have a loooot of rain as well, so Bergen should feel like home, haha.
Hahah, yes indeed! And helps you clean it off your nose 😂. You would feel right at home with the rain then, I hope you get to visit :-)
@@Mariaandtheforest Haha exactly. Hope so too, thanks! Keep up the good work with your channel!
I loved this! When I go to a new place I generally begin with a rose garden, park or botanical garden, and I look for cosy cafés and yarn shops as well as museums, or smaller art galleries… perfect!
I am so in on all those things too! In Bergen the botanical garden is actually right behind the museum we visited in this video, so one can do both :-)
bonjour, j'ai adoré cette ville, l'atmosphère, ces ruelles, ces vieilles maisons en bois
I've been in Bergen with my partner this last week, thanks in part to your very informative videos! We've had a wonderful time. Hope to return to see more soon! xxx
Tusen takk for fantastiske videoen. Dere er begge så søte og informative. I can’t wait to visit Bergen again. 😄
It looks like you had fun. You have a good friendship with your friend. You did 3 of the things I like. Visiting cafes, swimming in the ocean💗 & walking in the park in the rain.
I love Bergen. Not so keen on all the rain but it's ok as long as your dressed for it. The rainy days do allow you to slow down & sit in cosy cafes watching the rain fall
I agree with everything you say here, Bergen is such a beautiful, cosy city and it'll reward you if you go off the beaten path and explore. The university museum and gardens are beautiful (I get to experience the gardens often as I go to uni and my faculty is just down the road from there!).
Disappointed the dog wasn't in the shop today, though :p
So lovely! More please. You can tell the two of you are having a great time.
Thank you! We really did
This gives off Studio Ghibli vibes! Love it!❣
Aww, love that!
Thank you for the nice tour of Bergen ❤ and for the bubbly energy, perfect counter balance for any rainy day😅
Any time
Your tour was so fun and made me restless to visit the most beautiful Norway again. I missed seeing all these intriguing cafes and back streets of Bergen. Thank you so much for this ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I’d love to see another video like this with more cosy cafes ☺️
Awesome, I never get tired of them
Love it ❤ I’m from Brazil but I love traveling to Norway, I had some deja vu seeing some places that I already visited. Also love going to cafés.
found this golden channel
Thanks and welcome!!
Darn - didn't realize that Bergen had a Natural History museum - definitely will check it out next time I visit.
Harvard college's Natural History museum is worth a visit if you're ever in the Boston area. It too has the incredible whale skeletons which inspire awe. A curator there once pointed to the oil spots on the wooden floor, even after 100+ years, the bones still drip. Thanks for your videos.
It occurs to me that my comment may sound a bit gruesome and in some ways it is. Whenever I've visited the HNH I'm both fascinated with all the fauna on exhibit (hundreds and hundreds of different birds) and also sickened at the thought of all those creatures being destroyed for a collection. Another tidbit from the curator was that the average height of giraffes went down as they were hunted and collected, the tallest being prized. (Giraffes are tall, some almost 6 meters!) And yet the collection is so beautiful.
It's weird how one can have opposite feelings at once.
A Norwegian connection: as an exchange student living with a norwegian family, I enjoyed many excursions to Hardangervidda and I would help my 'brother' collect wild flowers for his 2nd year Gymnas project, it was fun, educational, a way to be one with nature. In retrospect, I was pleased to learn that this type of project is no longer a part of the curriculum.
Very small steps taken to try to understand our species place on this planet.
Hahah, that sounds slightly creepy museum indeed. I actually wonder if I have been there. I remember visiting a similar museum in Boston. But I don't remember any whales so maybe I am mixing it up. I totally agree that one can feel different things about it. At least these collections have educational value and hopefully help us learn more about animals and birds. I feel like that is meaningful at least.
I have heard about this way of educating students about nature and I think its so cool! Too bad they don't do it as much anymore. I do similar things in my workshops when I travel to schools, but it would be even better if it was a normal part of the curriculum.
That red flower, over the bridge in the park, was lovely
I thought so too
Thanks for this lovely, cozy video. I have a trip planned to Scandinavia this summer and will be in Bergen in late August so this was perfect! Yes, more Bergen, please.
So glad you found it useful
Beautiful city thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you too for watching
@@Mariaandtheforest looking forward to seeing more vlogs 👏🏻❤️
So much fun to be on a little holiday with you two girls. Yes yes I would love more videos with the two of you in Bergen or the mountains or wherever you want to go I'd like to see more about what food you were eating is that possible. Blessings and love from New Mexico
So glad you liked it! It was so fun to film and we really feel like it was more enjoyment than it was work
Beautifully done, my brother-in-law is from Bergen. He and my sister go back each summer. Thank you for showing me a little bit of your city.
I wouldn't say no to more Bergen videos either, btw;)!
oh, this makes me immediately want to hop on a train and travel to Bergen :D I like it very much, has been there for some days while having a little rest while traveling norway with my bike :) but this was a really long time ago.
Thank you so much, it was very fun to go with you on the tour
It really is a special place
@@Mariaandtheforest It was very special and awesome. I traveled 6 weeks with the bike but then has to send it home because of kneeproblems. But it is a very different type of traveling and I loved the experience. I cycled from Oslo to Bergen, then headed north til Andalsnes at the coastline.
I absolutely love Bergen! Don't mind rain at all. It gives me an excuse to stay home and read books. 🤭
Same here
More please!
My Norwegian grandmother used to mention Bergen, as well as Oslo. I enjoyed this, thank you :)
Glad you enjoyed it
I love rainy days too. Enjoyed your tour guides. Bird poop on you is good luck. X
Haha I sure hope so
Loved your stroll through Berfen. It brought back many memories. One of my favorite cities, too! Yes, it rained when I was there.
Love rainy days... Missed here. Our winter is sunny and dry.
Thanks in the last few days you have posted videos about Mosjøen AND Bergen… on my only trip to Norway from California several years ago, my travel companion’s family had emigrated from Mosjøen and we got to spend time there. And several of my other friends have Norwegian ancestry from Bergen. Both delightful cities. .. (and in Italy, being pooped on by a bird is considered good luck. Not so here in the United States)
I loved being with you like I was walking together with 2 amazing girls who were sharing the most beautiful and authentic places of Bergen!! Video turned to be so alive, sometimes dramatic 😂😂, thank you sooo much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️rain made the atmosphere even more fairy tale like 🍃💦🌹
So glad you liked it! Thank you too for watching
Yeay ! What a lovely video. I actually didn't know that Bergen was renowned for being so rainy, though I suppose it makes sense given its location. It's definitely on my list of places to visit (the one that got away on my last trip to Norway all those years ago !). Whenever I do visit I will definitely make a note to also visit Anna's shop....mainly because I'd like a selfie with Bhoomi ! Well done for making a wet day look like so much fun.
Thank you :-). Yes both Stavanger and Bergen are renowned for it, but it still is worse in Bergen because of the surrounding mountains that trap all the clouds in over the city. I hope you get to go there and take a selfie with Bhoomi
I watched your beautiful first Bergen video when I was in my home country and got admitted to UiB as a PhD. Now I am here in Bergen and watching your second video trying to figure out what to do in a rainy day😂.
I haven't been to any of the museums yet. So I guess I'd start with the Natural history museum. Also went hiking to Floyen recently and it was a bit raining but it was beautiful. 😇
How nice that you watched it before you moved there. I never thought that video would reach as many people as it did. I hope you enjoy the museum! Rainy day activities really helped me enjoy life in Bergen a bit more. But if you walked Fløyen in the rain and even enjoyed it you are on the right track I would say 😋😊
Very nice video my friend 🎉👌
Thank you very much!
I love Anna😻🥰😇
You and me both!
Anna is an interesting person
She is :-)
베르겐 여행의 꿀팁 감사합니다.
😍😍😍😍
Birdie birdie in the sky
Drop some whitewash in my eye
I'm not a baby I don't cry
But I'm sure glad the cows don't fly!
😅😅
The second time I ever visited Bergen (and the third time I visited Norway), I was crapped on by a seagull while at Fisketorget.
Fast forward fifteen years or so and I now live in Bergen. I still look up to make sure I'm not immediately below the gulls though.
Oh no, haha! You know how it feels then. Many people in the comments here tell me it means luck so I am going to try and see it that way. How nice that you live in Bergen now!
❤❤❤❤🥰♥️💫🫶
Would you be my local guide on 21 October. My family visiting Bergen
Sorry I do not work as a guide :-). But I hope my videos can give you some ideas of where to go!
