ADDENDA: *Regarding administering IV epinephrine - All patients receiving IV epinephrine must be placed on continuous cardiac monitoring due to the risk of arrhythmia. *Egg-allergic patients can often receive the influenza vaccine (should be preceded with skin testing), however the intranasal mist is absolutely contraindicated. *Red man syndrome can be prevented in most cases by slowing the infusion of vancomycin. *It is prudent to advise any patient with severe food allergies to avoid buffets, due to the high risk of cross-contamination.

Hi Paul, what is the difference between a normal immune response and one which leads to anaphylaxis. Is there any biological change that causes excessive histamine?
doesn't septic shock also manifest as flushing?
that's right. however, the Sx in septic shock will be different (Hx of fever, WBC, etc) vs Hx of something bit you etc
Also in a normal immune response what causes histamine to stop being produced by the body or prevents too much histamine being produced. Is there something to stop the feedback loop?
- what you can do is: hinder the cells release it (membrane stabilizers, GC) or block the receptors
- sounds funny but: try low HIS food
awesome vidoes- question: do you know when you will get to OB/GYN? thanks
I guess Im quite randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to stream new movies online?
