    Great explanation! I have a JBL EON ONE which is perfect for small venues but just like you mentioned, if one needs more volume then P.A speakers such as JBL 615 would be a good choice.

    DJ Bill: I just purchased a turbosound IP2000 v2. it puts out 123 Db SPL. The system will do a big venue and a small venue. I wish you would review it.

    Love your videos - you've never steered me wrong. Looking for some advice - 90% of my gigs are just me and my guitar, but every now and then I have a wedding. I'm tired of lugging my 15" speaker/pole/mixer/cables, etc to the solo gigs and thinking about going to the Eon One but then it would not practical for me to keep my 15s (and 18" sub) - you think TWO Eon Ones would be able to handle a small wedding dance floor? I know it won't be as good as the 15/18 setup, but would it be enough?

      top Notch Trivia - We had the exact same system as yours! Keep the EON15's, for the money there's nothing in the market that will beat them for such little money. The line array in the video above will not even come close to what you have. Your REAL problem is that you and I had the wrong subs! There is a design flaw, the handles on the subs are on the side, so there's no way to walk them through a standard door. Dumbest thing ever. Sell BOTH of your subs and replace it with just one EV ELK15" sub. Poof, all the bullshit of hauling the monsters goes away, it all fits in one smaller vehicle, and you will have A LOT of power.

  • @reyzuna
    @reyzuna Před rokem

    I'm using two of those Eon1 Line Arrays for my PA System and I can tell you even on Large Size venue it's a monster, just add two SUBs and mount the Eon1 Line Array on top of it and it will be fantastic for a basic PA System even on a 100 to 300 people on a large venue.. The standard center point speaker like the 615 is good if you need a long throw but people wanted to be close as possible to see the DJ or Band. You don't want to be close on the center point speaker because it will make your ear bleed that is why you need to hook it on a higher ground like on a Spkr Stand or hang it. Adding SUB to the Line Array will make more boomy. Plus the sound of the Center Point speaker vs The Line Array? dude it's far difference, the Quality of the Line Array are out of ordinary that no Center point speaker can compete, Point center speakers are just for making Noise barrage on your neighbors. I only wish they made more size like 12" sub and 5" drivers but I guest the 2" driver produces a good quality high on low and high level volumes and let's face it, center point are going to be obsolete on Gig setup. The line array are now the best way for a gig events that is why you see lots of sound system using line array style speakers

    The EV50 or IP300 will do just fine at a party of 200 people. I have the JBL Pro you're correct it doesn't have enough to pull a good party.

    • @reyzuna
      @reyzuna Před rokem

      Maybe because you only have one? give it a two and you'll be amaze, If you only have one pc of EV50 or IP300 it will only give a Center noise, the other side or back you get a weaker sound.

  • @reyzuna
    @reyzuna Před 10 měsíci

    I think you're a bit off about the sub being on the ground and will not generate sound at the back of the audience. Subs are air vibration generating wave vibration across the air mostly on the ground because ground air are more compress. Now that is said then bass will travel thru the crowd in front of the woofer. The Sub from the top will not create more bass vibration because the air on higher ground are thin and freely, it only gives Mid bass even you crank up the bass it will not generate good lower bass line unlike lower ground woofers. That is why the JBL Eon one Line array are more louder and clean sound than a 615 even it has more db. The Eon one will still sound like more powerful because of the sub on the ground

      Thanks for the comment, I will re-watch this video and make a new one featuring the Harbinger MLS1000 Line array and their brand-new V3415 15" power speaker. I will try to add some clarity to this discussion.

  • @juankcorzo
    @juankcorzo Před 3 lety

    Very informative, although I would argue what you said about low frequencies being absorbed by the audience. Low frequencies travel further and they "penetrate" materials better. They travel through objects and through the ground, so that is why they always are place on the floor
