    Love this deck. As a collector I got it too marvel at all the work and creativity that went into it. I am just mind blown at how creative and artistic some people are, and give them props for taking the time to put their vision into reality.
    I do wish they would come out with a big, heavy duty, hard cover, color, art style guide book for it. I think a big lux version of a guide book would be great for a coffee table book. 💕
    Same with Somnia Tarot, also would love a big fancy book for that one as well.

      Yes xx I completely agree about a coffee table book with longer write ups from the guidebook. I also feel the same with the Somnia even though I haven’t gotten it

    Oh wow! I had no idea this was in the works; I have the Poker Deck of the Drowning World and really like it. I cannot get over how different they are!! They are totally different styles. I like the big cards for this deck, and I like the pips. Thanks for sharing! ❤😊

      Yes, same world but different styles completely. Photos vs cute images hahahaha I like the Poker Deck but I didn’t get it just because I’m not good with reading them. Thanks for watching Laura!!!

    Thank you for this walkthrough, what an intriguing deck! There is no guidebook or other writings explaining the artists' thought process, right? The artistic influences that came to mind are very interesting to me & I wonder how much of it was intential & why. Like:
    -the drowned thing with the flowers reminds me of Hamlet's Ophelia
    -Dr. Falke & Orlofsky are characters from Strauss' operetta Die Fledermaus (The Bat), the other extra cards might be as well?
    -the court cards are reminiscent of Arcimboldo's portrait painting with the fruit & vegetables
    Tbh I'm super tempted to get this deck for myself just because of these influences haha.
    edit: Oh nvm, there is a guidebook!

      @BoyDiviner  Před 2 lety +1

      I think there may be a guidebook!! But I didn’t get it because it was an additional cost - and the previous guidebook for the Carnival at the End of the world I bought was a disappointment because they didn’t cover specifically the artists’ thoughts. Thanks for sharing so much about these influences because I’m not aware of these. I just doubt the guidebook will have much to say… maybe it’s time to find a review of it hahahaha thanks Vanessa

    Hey there! Random suggestion for a deck review: Four Seasons Hwatu Oracle by Prime Muse (Hwatu being the Korean version of the Japanese Hanafuda deck) It's a deck for playing games AND divination (though this particular one is beautifully illustrated especially for the purpose of divination). It's really beautiful and immersive into the Korean culture. Not affiliated in any way! Suggesting it because you've shown alot of appreciation in the past for asian culture being present in decks! 💜 I find this one really magical

      Sounds amazing!!! Although I don’t really want to spend more money (I just bought another 3 decks LOL fml) - I’ll check the deck out thanks so much for suggesting it haha

    Hey Casper.
    Very beautiful deck. Thank you for sharing, my friend. I've got to add it to my growing list of "must haves". ✌😊 I personally love big cards. (Well, I don't love shuffling them, lol. But I love taking in the bigger images - It's like a feast for the eyes.)
    I purchased 'The Alchemical Visions Tarot' last year... And after learning to shuffle those placemat-sized "cards", most large decks seem small in comparison now. 😊
    Plus I play piano, so I'm used to stretching my fingers apart widely.
    But thanks for letting people know about the size. I have a friend who has arthertis as well as small hands - she'd adore this deck, but would never be able to use it without difficulty. She bought the 'Starman Tarot' recently, and returned the deck a week later, because they caused her pain, and she was having troubles handling them; and these look similar in size.
    Merci, friend. I enjoy your content and your reviews are concise and thorough. 🙏 Peace and light.

      Thank you my friend! You’re so lucky to have trained your hands to stretch from a young age hahahaha I’ve always struggled to even play an octave on the piano (and gave up after first grade consequently, had no willpower). I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s arthritis - it’s fortunate that there are so many smaller decks that are just as good. Blessings to you ❤️🙏🏼

  • @theslightlychippedmoon

    These cards are really beautiful - I will probably enjoy them more if they are in a picture book... too cluttered for me to pick out the information needed for a helpful tarot reading! The colours are beautiful!

    Hi, Casper! Let us know how the Drowning World works for you. 💗 I just ordered the deck and guidebook earlier today and can’t wait to see the cards in person. Thanks for sharing this w us! 🌸

      Its art is a little too busy for my liking so far and it’s still hard to shuffle but I’ll continue to try!! I think if I had the guidebook that would help a lot more. I hope it serves you well Phoebe ❤️❤️

    Hi This deck is kind of interesting. I will watch again. I do like some pip or TDM style depending on there format. I was thinking of different ways to make these work for shuffling. I always have trouble shuffling is a challenge for me. You can put them face down on the table and push them around. Also ruffle shuffle from the sides long ways. Or trim them and write on the cards with marker for the titles and numbers. I have tried all kind of ways with my cards.

    • @BoyDiviner
      @BoyDiviner  Před 2 lety

      Yes, thanks my friend! I’ve tried the pushing method and I like it but worry for the cards sometimes. I’ve also trimmed other less precious decks but this one was quite… expensive I feel hesitant 😂😂😂😂

      The artists reused those motifs and archetypes hahaha but I didn’t get the guidebook so I can’t talk much about their thought process

    Good morning, Kasper. Thanks for sharing. I think the deck is rather beautiful. I don't like the courts at all. Overall, it's an interesting deck, but it's not for me.

    I also have this deck and have to riffle the cards either from the side or the corner. It's not perfects but gets the job done.

      Same, I’m doing it with the corners but wanted to let anyone who’s getting the deck know how difficult it may be if they were expecting to work with it.
