One of the things I like about her is that she never over sang a song or doing unnecesary vocal tricks, she knows and understand that in the end is all abot the song.
Still, she shines but without sacrificing the song.

It's gratifying to realize, little by little, the younger generation is becoming more exposed to her singular voice. Her fans are tired of the focus having been so fixated on her considerable troubles rather than the gifts she left us. This is a fine selection because it highlights her voice with almost no instrumentation, and the result is of course remarkable. Her crystal-clear clarity, sheer power and agility in swiftly shifting from soft and angelic notes to powerful belts is amazing. She was one of the greatest voices in music history regardless of musical genre.
BTW, a poster presented an audio version of "In Return" recorded live from Japan in 1991. It has a better sound quality than the other two on You Tube with video. It's a gospel song that may have been written by one of the Winans. She put maximum emotion into it, and the result is so beautiful with a stunning ending. This is just the second time I've viewed a reaction video to this gospel masterpiece. This one performance proves she was one of the greatest singers (regardless of musical genre) of all time. It's cool to see some in the younger generation appreciating and/or discovering her.

Thatâs what Whitney and her label always focused on was the voice, her songs always focused on her voice they were not production heavy , look at her South African concert and her bodyguard tour live concert videos on CZcams. Another good one is her AMA 1994 and Iâm telling you Iâm not going melody. She has tons of live videos for you to see, donât sleep on her albums either all her albums were full of standards and great music. You may really like her preachers wife soundtrack it was amazing. When she closes her eyes, you know she's singing to Jesus. No looking at camera's that's when you and the Father are bonding. That's special.
After years of drugs, her voice was almost gone when she passed. Despite that, many would agree that she is arguably, the greatest female singer of all time. That is a testament to her gift. The control she had over her voice is only matched by Opera singers.

Jack, I am so impressed by your musicology and your feedback. Your assessments are wonderful and It's really inspiring to see your appreciation for the amazing music of the past. To say I absolutely love and adore Whitney Houston and her unearthly beauty and talent would be a gross understatement. As far as I am concerned there is no other female voice which affects my heart the way she does.You are right on it when you say that she penetrates your heart and soul. There was an unbelievable strength in her voice and yet it seemed so fragile and delicate at the same time. It was ethereal, That was her magic.
She was nothing less than an angel sent to earth and her downfall was so painful to watch. It is tragic to think that such a beautiful soul was suffering so much pain. People were so in awe of her and I think they really didn't know what to think. Her beauty and grace was equalled only by her incredible voice.
I hope this is some sort of lesson to "some" people on earth to send love to all of the angels left on earth such as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion etc. Please react to (IN RETURN) it is magical.God Bless you and keep up the great work

Jack, WHITNEY HOUSTON was anointed by God to sing gospel. She had a very special calling and i regret that even though her music education and training was rooted in gospel she decided to pursue secular music instead. It is sad that she never got the chance to record a full gospel album.

Whitney Houston is my favorite singer of all time! I'm not sure if you all knew it or not but Whitney Houston was multi-racial her father black, white and Native American and her mother is black. Whitney Houston's grandmother on her father's side was white and Native American. So Whitney was only half black!
