Nez’s Fords - Tango & Snowy: Classic Restos - Series 51

- We look at Nez’s current cars, a 1970 XW 351 GT Falcon and a 1971 XY Fairmont. Nez protests these cars are not in Concours condition, but Fletch begs to differ. He calls them Tango and Snowy for apparent reasons.
Nez selects his cars carefully and then goes the extra mile to detail them fastidiously to the original condition, even down to the factory markings. When it comes to the engine and drivetrain, Nez’s drag racing background comes to the fore, and the XY Fairmont is a perfect example. The previous owner, also a drag racing fan, had done all the hard work and engineered the car for a big block engine, which Nez chose to replace with a smaller big block engine. A 460, so there is more than enough grunt under the bonnet if you ever need it.
These are two beautifully presented cars by someone with an eye for detail.
A fabulous story of rich family heritage, and love of cars.
What a WONDERFUL STORY....Thank You so much for showing it
Great story Fletch, Thanks for all the Australian car Love...
Well done Fletch. Nez is a gentleman. I will definitely say hello if I bump into him at a car show.
Great cars. Keep em coming Fletch.
Nice bloke and a good bit of fun, love that he likes to drive ‘em ! Thanks Fletch
Love that XW GT, absolutely beautiful and definitely a car I’d love to own one day. 👍🏻
Meet him a few times over the years. Year. Real nice humble. Car guy. This is what is all about. /. Nice cars. And nice. People. Yea. Both cars are very nice. Fletch. Thanks for posting this video
Awesome video. Cool guy is Nez. Real special Falcons.
Nez is an Australian legend. What he has done in life and now what he gives back is just comparable. And how humble is he! I’ve met him twice and he just best bloke
All ways enjoy your car story’s fletch so very interesting thank you very much keep up the good work
Nez, you are a gentleman. Wise choices in the XW and XY. I'm far from a Ford bloke, but good to see you've made a driver of the GT (with Bosch electronic ignition) and a sleeper of the Fairmont. I moved from Bayside Melbourne to NE VIC 20 years ago, and whilst ordering CHEV parts from your brother Barney, he said that you used to ride dirt bikes in the bush near my home Outside of Yackandandah. BTW, the family wagon was an FB Holden. My sisters and I had one as a paddock car on our Chelsea Heights dairy farm in the early 70s.
Great story
Love`s His treasures :-) cheers Fletch
Great story about Nez. Just to confirm how kind Nez is and was, I once ran out of petrol in my HG Monaro at the busy intersection of Bell and High street and spluttered to a stop on the footpath. Shortly after, Nez not only pulled up behind me but took me to a petrol station and back in his car. I knew of him from the Calder off street drags and always enjoyed seeing those mighty Ford powered Mazda's.
As a young kid my 1st job was pre cast concreting in Bayswater and the foreman owned a green XWGT with a 351 Windsor 4 speed ,he came in on a monday and some jerk stole it from out front of trash n treasure on Sunday ,i felt so bad for him as you could never ever replace such a beautiful Ford, just love the wheels on the white Ford ,outstanding
Nice video. Pretty obvious that you and Naz were busily winding each other up at times, given the number of editing cuts in the latter part of this video😊! Beautiful cars, including the Shelby Mustang. Thank you again.
Stick to car's Fletch course you don't know Jack sh-- about tree's you have to pee on lemon trees everyone knows that hahaha.
Great episode on Nez and his family & cars. Just shows how this country was open to migrants in the 50s just like my mum and dad going to Kinglake.
