Unfortunately i lost quite a bit of footage because of a dud SD card so after the basic build is done its all photos, luckily i kept a good record of the build in photos.
Though i do recommend you watch until the end as it shows how to build a muzzle blast :D

Great job on the weathering, and an imaginative and very nice firing effect. I'd recommend for a little more realism to re-position the spades in the down position and have them "dug in" to the sand on your diorama. Firing without setting the spades would be a very unusual event.
i had hoped to get some aftermarket ones to do dig the spades in but they didn't arrive in time and I ran out of time to modify the ones that came with the kit to make them work, was very disappointed about that, its the only thing I don't like about this build
While the M109A6 can be fired with the spades down, it is not necessary as the guns ability to self-locate using its onboard GPS and fire control system which calculates any backward movement and sends adjustments to the crew to reset after each round just as you would on a towed piece. Though, it may be more valuable to have them down with higher charges or shooting for longer periods of time without moving locations
The only time a paladin was set with the spades was when it was in a permanent firing position on a fob, or setting up for the night. Other than that we never dropped them. Unlike the a5 you didn’t have to be on spades to fire. The thing i thought was weird was the packs over the tracks, we stored ours in the bustle racks to try to keep them dry and a little cleaner, they would be coated with mud if you stored them there.

What size LED’s were used and where were they purchased? Were they white or yellow emitting color. I’d like to use your technique with an M1A1.
They are a standard warm white led strip that you can get off ebay, the strip i used can be cut down to 3 led sections, and i used 6 of those in total, sticking the sections back to back to produce a bright enough light.

Are u sanding anything? Because those parts need sanding. It's an italeri kit, it definitely needs it.
Only little bits, the parts actually turned out to be very straight, had very little flashing and fit together very well, i was actually quite suprised
@@105thArmoury tamiya advertises that kit as having improvements made to the molds, so its probably somewhat better than the plain italeri version.

at the moment i don't, due to time constraints, but its something i may look into in the future.

Is there a metal barrel for this kit?
As far as I know I think there are 2 available one is from Voyager models the other from barrel depot
Thanks for the info. I’ve been looking all over the place but I cannot find one. I started building the AFV Paladin because the kit comes with a metal barrel however, I found it overly complicated (I think they over engineered that thing), so I decided to stop building it and bought the Tamiya one.
BTW your build looks fantastic. I’ll try to scavenge the AFV metal barrel and I’ll attempt to rig it into the Tamiya.
@@luisgomez5049 thanks :) i should imagine making the AFV barrel work on the tamiya kit shouldn't be a problem, if the barrel diameter is similar it should slot in place with minimal modification
