- ANYONE THINKING ABOUT RVING NEEDS TO ATTEND AN FMCA CONVENTION BEFORE PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER! Would of started out RVing a lot better if we had attended all the seminars, exhibit halls and new RVs BEFORE we bought anything! Sue & I have been on the road full time for 2.25 years and we learned a lot at this convention. It was full of information, tours, parties, dancing, eating, donuts, coffee and stage shows that we can't wait to attend our next one!

We feel fortunate that we bought our last rig first! I'm guessing we are a "one & done" couple until we get a house again. Then,.......maybe an Airstream?? We have no end date in sight yet,..... Kidneys & Liver are still intact!
I think you guys have the right idea about buying the right coach. I don't care what a person buys, it's different strokes for different folks. I always hated high pressure salesman. I believe if the coach or car or what ever reaches out and bites you on the butt and you love it, then it's the right move
Everyone has their own budget and "must have" items on the shopping list. In the RV world, there are tons of units and floor plans to pick from......... The rig has to feel right for both partners!

When you first get there, make sure you find where the sign up booth is for the weigh in,....and select the time of departure you prefer on the LAST DAY of the show. I am NOT SURE if they weigh on all days,........I was just aware of the departure day scheduling. Good luck. You will be way ahead of most folks knowing your numbers!

it all again. It is important to be fully loaded for the weighing, correct?
@@ourjourney4782 YES,...as fully loaded as possible to your realistic weight. Full fuel, full fresh water, empty grey & black, coffee in BOTH front holders and you both sitting in the drivers and passengers seats. (Make sure you eat breakfast too,.....the line took 45 minutes to get through!)

We really don't know what FMCA is up to lately. We are members. Sooner or later we will attend another rally, we just don't know when.
I’m new to RV’s. Isubscribed and put notifications on. Are Class C’s allowed to this convention/ Rally? I only see Class A’s.
All classes of self propelled RV's AND all classes of tow behind trailers. The club has grown and expanded its charter to embraced the whole universe of RVers!

This allowed us to track our spending so we could see where all the money is going! At first I thought Sue just had a gambling problem. Your spreadsheet saved our marriage and highlighted our problem,...........our campground fees!

No offense to the rich guys,....because I DO wish I was one! It's actually just cool to be ABLE to open these doors up, and look around in there like your doing something! If your single, I'd bet $10 bucks it's a good way to look cool and get a date..........

I actually worked on the shower scene for days. I didn't use the "head on" blogging shots I took because quite honestly, my impersonation was SO GOOD, I figured your channel may issue me a copyright strike. NO JOKE.
I am surprised you didn't get over to the Foretravel display. I think you would look good in a Realm or ih-45. You could custom order a Prevost conversion to your exacting standards from them to.
We did get over to the Foretravel Display. I LOVE touring the Luxury Brands. We will be at the Tampa RV Show this year in January 2020. Hopefully we will remember the camera this time.
We are searching to buy ‘’our last RV’’ first. We are wondering if we must be a member of FMCA before we can attend these seminars? Or can anyone attend these seminars?

I've been curious what it's like to attend an FMCA event. I know there is more than what was seen, but these are great videos with a lot of information. Job well done.
We were not just saying it was great for the video. Sue & I had so much fun going to this, it was like going to your favorite museum, with new stuff every day! We highly recommend going.

This is Mark. It seems your husband AND I are equally lucky that are wives have not given up on us YET. It is hard to believe that my speed will improve during my continued old age! You are going to fall in love with the atmosphere of learning everything RV! We have 10 videos on the things that we did while in Arizona. Hope you can spend time in the area before and after the Rally. We will be in Florida this winter.

Thank you for posting this. I've been an FMCA member since 2012 and was planning on going to the N. Dakota one but my spinal condition wouldn't let me then. I have yet to get to one and hope that I will soon! In the meantime, it was nice to see it on your channel :)
From all the blogs I could tell FMCA was a great organization. After attending this event,.....we are hooked. The FMCA Michelin Tire buying program will be helping me in November.
Another fine OJIM production ;) When you toured the FL chassis and said "that is a manly tire" I had to laugh- I have a manly tire and it is called my waist LOL. Getting real on this end-estate sale is Friday and we are going to sell it to the walls. The production order is in on the DS 4369-mid Dec delivery-whew what a week. Cheers and type at ya later. BNG

Another great video thanks for putting this together. Haven't joined FMCA yet but will probably sign up next year with our retirement. Good job researching coaches before purchase, you save a lot of $$$ if you can pick your last coach first. We haven't seen any coaches yet that made us doubt our purchase, at least without having to sell a few kidneys (LOL)
I think everyone just needs to really think through how they are going to use their rig, how they are going to travel and how much comfort you BOTH expect to have for the upcoming YEARS. For us,......we needed an apartment!
Great video once again. How do you plan out your trips and find interesting sites along the way. We are in the process of purchasing a 2006 Newmar Mountain Aire. We are very excited. Keeping our house but want to venture out for a while.
Honestly, it is so easy nowadays with the internet. We just google "Things to do in San Diego", and Trip Advisor will have 40 things for you to do and see. We do a few things I like, and a few things Sue likes, and we manage to stay married while living in 400 square feet!

As I understand it, this system currently is only for 22.5" rim tires. If anyone else knows otherwise, please pile on! You can call the Rettroband Sales Manager at National Indoor RV Center, Marshall Hollingshead at 702-766-9915. He is a great guy to chat with! I will be making a video in November of our experience.
Cool I have a small Class A. When me and the wife are able to travel more we will purchase a larger unit she's against a larger unit I am too. When we travel now it is so easy to drive and we virtually can go anywhere we want. A larger unit would be very nice if we're going to be staying in it months at a time. I don't want to sell my home as I really enjoyed it. Somehow I wish we could travel more Torn Between two . Right now I'd be too embarrassed to be there with all those really nice motorhomes. So much I would like to ask you saying how I just found your Channel y'all pretty cool. You're doing it the way I want to. That cut away you shows the mechanics nightmare. wonder why it causes so much to get it fixed. This comment is way too long sorry
I do lose sleep worrying about Freightliner Repairs. The Super C cab diesels are way cheaper to repair, but the unit is as much or more than a regular MH. I think you may have the best combo now with your home base, and a nimble Class A. We needed to sell our home base because Wisconsin was just too cold for us in winter, and not retiree friendly. The rigs you saw in the video where all big only because we were in the "big" area walking by all the time. We saw all sizes and shapes. Thanks for giving us a look,...

Stone free is the only way to go! Stay tuned for our video of the November 21st installation I have scheduled for the new front tires, and the rettrobands. Really going to put a dent in the kids inheritance fund.
Very entertaining! Bet you needed a vacation after that week. Interesting to see the weight on the front wheels. Wow, it carries almost half of the weight of the coach eve more when braking. No wonder they recommend doing 60 or 65mph. Kind of hard to accelerate when you have a blow out on the front if you already have the pedal mashed. Those run-flat inner cores would definitely be worth their weigh in yellow plastic.
You know that you can buy little countertop ovens for about $200 that are way better than those crappy m/conv ovens. Problem is where do you put the thing when you are not using it. That is why I would order a propane range.
You are so right about the yellow rettroband. It is SUPER expensive,......$4495. My take, is if I need it and I don't have it in place, I would then have paid $50,000 for a "do-over". I am happy to say Sue is warming up to getting a toaster oven, no pun intended.
