True fact he's actually my Nan's mom's mom's cousin if that makes sense, i only found this out like 3 years ago when my Nan told me.
actually, he has a pretty big part in the reason why so may people died! ended up canceling the drills for the boats which would have allowed the crew the ability to deal with such a situation with far more proficiency (and is a massive reason the drills are MANDITORY on cruses today and why the crew will hunt you down\cut off your privilege's until you complete it!!!!), and to top it off, he told one crew member, you know, that one specific one with the gun saying "women and children only!". the captain told him that without giving any further details, to save on confusion and the possibility of them taking it to literally (which we already know happened!)! not to mention the things about the binoculars (making sure the swapped crew member left the key) and ignoring warnings about ice bergs (in which growlers are the worst and the binoculars would have help greatly with spotting!). so ya, betting that "true gentleman" went down because of the repercussions that likely would have been faced!
Edit: forgot to mention "not slowing down in reaction to the ice berg warnings".
@@unbekannteumstand9983 This is true. The man was not a villain, but the role he played in the disaster must never be forgotten. I am sure he was a good person in life, but ultimately the Titanic sank under his command. He was responsible for the ship, its crew and passengers and he failed them all. That failure must never be forgiven.
@@MagnanimousEntropy indeed, thing is he was very well regarded as a captain! thing is, not only was he at fault, but also the fact that they tended to care more about keeping time, instead of the utmost of saftey. however yes, the majority of lives is indeed on his mismanagement!

I really love this song so much,Rest In Peace for Titanic's dead passenger and i hope that all of them get to be in heaven
I had the complete soundtrack Album when I was 12. I would listen to this specific theme over and over. It was a huge inspiration at a transitional time of my life. I had not yet started taking music serious until I was 16-18. I didn’t even like spending time trying to figure out how to play this theme. I just wanted to listen to it and get consumed by its emotions. It brings a lot of old memories. This theme is timeless. As always, love your work Mathias

When I was a boy, I would watch titanic videos. I was obsessed. My parents gave me an RC titanic, about two and a half feet, for Christmas. I would sail it with my dad on our pond. It had lights inside so at night it looked beautiful. I still have in now but we lost the remote and battery pack so now it is a two and a half foot paperweight. Dusty and pale, still a beautiful and strong ship.

It sounds odd, but I have loved Titanic and felt for her passengers, both those who survived and those who died since I first read about it in grade school.
When I learned of her rescue ship Carpathia, I fell in love with it too.
I know this is the movie's love theme from Rose to Jack, but every instrumental version is, to me, Titanic's song to Carpathia. 'I can no longer be saved, but thank you for coming for my survivors.'
And this is especially beautiful.

When I was a baby about 4 or 5 years old I used to pull out the couch seats and put them on the floor and pretend to be rose calling jack in the water! “Jack” “jack” “jack” x4 over and over! And people used to look at me and laugh I did it on the bus on the train! In restaurants. My grandparents would laugh at me! This song, this movie this edited version takes me back to a place that is so nostalgic that it almost hurts!
Great rendition. I will say that the power of Celine's voice was still not matched, but it was a beautiful homage and masterpiece in its own right.

During our history thete were so many shipwrecks. But what makes Titanic stand out is that it could have been prevented. Several times. This theme is so sad and beautiful.
