Mate. These are worth more than years online coaching. Thank you for being the good human that you are.
Ah thank you Eli!! ❤️
I see a how to from Mitch, I sit down and listen.
The guys a body genius
Amen.
Wise decision. Mitch is highly intelligent!
Thank you for the support brother
Yes, exactly 💯 as a fellow Canadian myself. I'm so proud of this man. He went from weak well above average to a demi God. Amazing 👏 besides Thor,Eddie,Big Z, Larry, and Shaw, this man is now my new favorite Humans.
You are a born teacher, I started working out the moment Loz said you won, (dropped down and did push-ups i haven't done that in over 5 years) and I've been doing something physical -even if it's 1 set of situps, every day since then. You have broken me out of a really unhealthy place and I am gonna keep coming back here for more motivation. Thank you so, so much❤
Awesome job man! 👍
Good stuff man eventually you'll build momentum and it'll be harder to rest than workout. But stick at it youre confidence will sky rocket. Training has changed my life.
That means the world to me. Consistency is key. Doesn’t have to be much, but always has to be sometging
That’s awesome! Keep it up!
@@mitchellhooperstrongman you're the man Mitch! I'm so glad i found you and your channel. You're an amazing man and an amazing teacher!
Hadn't heard of him before he won WSM. But notice apart from no doubt putting in a crazy amount of work, he comes across very smart.
Man you don't follow Strongman then. He's one of the hottest names in pro Strongman of the past year.
And strongmen for the most part are highly intelligent and analytical.
Mooooooose!
@A-A-ron Davis Why are you shaming someone for being new, new people are good for the sport dont be a dick abt it
This explains why he is the wsm. He is not from nowhere - he has built his whole life with knwoledge and training then just finding his perfect match with wsm. Amazing knowledge and drive in one person. Glad to be able to sneak in a listen to this information and way or thinking. Many thanks 🙂👍
I wish I was just always calm and collected and things didn't bring me down. People like this generally accomplish big things in life because they are likable, they don't give up on a task, and most importantly they don't give up on themselves. I have realized over my 44 years on earth that I am my worst enemy. Often I give up on myself before anyone else even thinks about giving up on me. This applies to business - maybe a new position overwhelms you and you feel like you are failing and you step down. The next guy might not do any better in the beginning but he doesn't get down on himself and just keeps on going. Believing in yourself and tolerating stress well are 90% of being successful in business and life really. I've gotten a little better now that I know I do this to myself.
Awareness is a big step in the right direction!
Thank you for sharing ❤️ keep pushing on. Informed self belief is paramount.
Great seminar. Had a blast being there with you all!
Hope you continue with these. Even though I don't do any strength training, the knowledge gained can be useful for future training.
Master of kinesiology, winner of the Arnold and WSM in same year. Brought his body up 150 lbs in bulk strength and used to be jacked as well. Listen to this guy. He knows his stuff.
This has been my favorite channel for the last two weeks lol. Great content
One of the things I love about what you've brought to the sport of strongman is an evidence based approach which is a breath of fresh air. I remember watching the giants live podcast with you and Darren last year after group stage and being really intrigued by what you had to say. It has changed the way I view strength training and fitness, so thank you for that.
Was Mitchell really born in 1995? Holy shit he is young! Makes me even more confident that he can dominate for some time in strongman, if he keeps it up and does not get injured.
Great and very educational video! Really enjoyed the way you are teaching. Very engaging!
I was surprised as well
Mitchell is so generous sharing his knowledge. God bless you
i couldn't imagine having moose a a coach.
i love crossfiters. i can do my 1 rep max 5x
Imagine (insert name any strongman) trying to give a seminar as articulate as this. Well done man.
Martinz can do well, and has really good marker skills
Thor could but English isn't his first language
I agree with you both, but Mitchell's knowledge base is incredible. Neither Thor nor martins could touch that.
@Justin O'Brien That makes no sense. Of course those guys have a massive amount of knowledge as well, they wouldn't be top competitors if they didn't 😂
@DRock 21 you're absolutely wrong. The most intelligent people in strength and fitness don't even look like they lift. Mitch has a graduate degree in exercise physiology, obviously he can articulate himself better than most pros. It's not a slam at anyone else, it's just a fact.
love the frequency of the videos now.
I learned something, thanks Mitch! I had no idea about that recommended sleep hours for athletes. All your teaching videos are informative, but this one hit home. I realized I don't sleep enough.
Please post more of these. Your teaching style resonates well with me! Love it.
This man is so informative and excellent teacher! If I could get stronger just by watching his videos I would be rivaling him!
I've slept up to 11 to 13 hours in a night recovering from weightlifting but NOT every night!
This sucks, I want to hate Mitch because he is a Packer fan, but he is a great guy, smart and very athletic. Mitch you know I luv ya.
I'll hate him for you
I fell asleep to this video, had great recovery thx
Top tier thumbnail. Thank you.
Great seminar, even dave grohl attended. 7:30.
Hes got a strong mind and body.... respect.
It's this kind of scientific thinking and analytics, coupled with an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced coach, that wins you WSM.
Mitch Hooper - Not your average strongman.
Being that Mitchell just blew out all things WSM, every word he says is gospel.
You can tell he’s a very knowledgeable and smart dude
This video couldn’t have dropped at a more Perfect time. I’m in final stages of prep for a powerlifting meet and this is the info I needed
Please MORE about RECOVERY! Great vid, Mitch!
This is the same method body builders been using sleep stress management... But also what I find interesting is that this method is used for treating cancer naturally without chemo or drugs
This gets into the area that I am really interested in. Recovery.
At my age getting back into heavy training is leaving me EXHAUSTED...
Post more about these! Love it.
Fantastic information from a true inspiration, this understanding of the cns and its impact on recovery is a game changer.
Thanks for sharing this video, really interesting. I hope you do more!
Wonderful knowledge! When is the online course coming? From a teacher, you’ve got the ‘it’ to touch and inspire so many lives. I’m looking forward to learning from your online course, be it live or recorded! And congratulations on your WSM win! 🎊 🎉
Bro Ive been watching all of youre videos since 2022 worlds. I like youre objective thinking on how you approach things. Truly knowledge, strong, etc. Ever since you won worlds I still see you as Mitch Hooper but like you said its a.stepping stone and man keep on carry on and tell Fabian videos are awesome👍. Lastly if you or Fabian read this, what does it Mean to you to be strong ?
Wow so proud to canadien
Very informative thanks for sharing this with us
My guess is that putting what is taught into practice is going to be a challenge for most people without some sort of simple principles to follow.
This is solid knowledge I love that
"World's Strongest Man know's!"
This should be Mitchell Hooper's next podcast title.
This shows that strongman is not eating a ton of food and low reps with tremendous amounts of weight.
Hooper is the next 2.0 WSM! #professormoose
#hooperknows
I dont think transient spikes in testosterone and especially growth hormone affect hypertrophy. At least not directly in the case of growth hormone. Training at a high intensity in low rep ranges still results in plenty of tension in the muscle overall so if you accumulate enough volume you could noticeably gain muscle....or so i think
This content is amazing, thank you.
do you use a CPAP? I feel for any big guy let alone strongman a sleep study should be a must. the difference in life before and after I started CPAP therapy is indescribable.
Interesting point about muscular fatigue being different from CNS fatigue
Professor Hulk mode activated. I like Moose Hooper.
Great video, I learnt so much from it !!
these are great!
This was very informative, thank you.
Awesome video, Thanks for the great info
The champ!
Very informative as always!
When i manage to keep my test high and prolactin low I can sleep 12h straight and I'm 41years young 👌🏻🔥
Thank you
Camera makes me look fat. Naw I’m just fat. Had a great time learned a lot. Still trying to find a creatine to use lol.
Great stuff
I am now gonna start getting off my ass this man is inspiring the hell out of me
Great ❤
WE GET IT, you are the World strongest man of 2023 jeez
Always a hater. Mitch is never bragging
Sleep enough, eat enough, managae stressors, take enough time between training sessions, and for some athletes, leverage PEDs to that end
Watching this, while restless about to get 6 hours of sleep
Calm, cool, collected, carnivore. #meatheals no inflammatory foods or spiked glucose. Just even, consistent energy
arnie only slept about 6 in his prime and yeah i cant sleep longer then 7 hours. do squat 300 kg for reps without belt curl the 100s and full stack everything
WORLDS SMARTEST STONGEST MAN.
❤
This is maybe a strange question/topic but maybe you better than anyone would have a good answer or input. I have often found that going for a run greatly improves my recovery, in particular after deadlifts. I know you used to run and I was wondering if this makes sense to you or if you have ever experienced something similar.
I have found similar results from running and swimming.
I find that with heavy weights, my body adapts very well with the cardio conditioning.
Basically, I don’t get as tired and can recover quickly between sets
I noticed something similar (as long as the run was relatively short, no more than a couple miles).
My best guess is that it just causes a lot of blood to pump through your legs.
doing light cardio after lifting is a form of active recovery (which he mentions in the video) and is proven to help you recover faster. google can tell you more.
That’s called active recovery
I have a special condition and no one in my area know what i have, when i train my arms lock into place >(like a rhabdomyolysis but its not) and my CK level in my blood get up to 50-60k and i can die. I've been in the hospital 3 times because of it so far.. i try to keep working out but all the doctors and specialists ive seen have no clue on whats going on, i need help. I want to keep working out but i don't want it to kill me. I am a Canadian that lives around 5h drive from your clinic, i wonder if any of you guys could help me in any ways or recommend me to someone. Sorry if i sound a bit desperate but it is cause i kinda am. My entire life i've done sports and enjoyed working out and now this happiness of mine is weirdly difficult to do now and kinda taken away.
If he drops the marker one more time
Well, hopefully he still does seminars.
😪
I will be doing TONS more seminars. I love to teach and pass on what value I can.
@@mitchellhooperstrongman
Ya!!!
Us old guys need the guidance too!
Sooo happy!
😊🏋🏼
Everytime I hear you talk all I hear is those canadian guys from south park lol
Same. It's uncanny. No disrespect. Really like this guy 👍🏾
!😊
I just spent 13 minutes listening to a thumb lecture me about my bedtime
....😀
🦌. . .
Man Mitch pls get yourself a Laptop, who can read that? 😂
Knowledge is there but delivery is lacking. The whiteboard is impossible to see and he speaks quite fast and abstract. He needs to redo the video for dumb online audience.
8:10 that's because she's a female
Mitch sleeps with his trophies?
He obviously has good night sleeps because he sleeps with his 🏆
Clickbait reinforces harmful/unrealistically masculine stereotype for sleep.
I’m an ER nurse works nights and powerlift. I sleep maybe 4-6 hours between shifts. Any tips? I’ve tried to cut back my training to maybe one of those work days. I don’t have much appetite, usually get down a steak and 2 cups of rice a day while working. Try to stay hydrated and maintain the routine. Come home and try to be in bed by 8:20-9am at the latest. Thanks Mitchell
