Most of the "Kachikawawa's symphony no.875 in R♯ 1/2♭ minor 5th etude 23rd octave ♭5 progression 7 op.53082" is actually completely unnecessary so most of the time people just say "Kachikawawa's 5th symphony" and that's all you need

Actually, Brett's playing of The Lark Ascending was really lovely. I'd like to hear him play more of the piece someday. I know everybody says he looks dead inside, but he sometimes plays with surprising sensitivity and tenderness. I don't think he's dead inside at all. I think there's just a lot there that he doesn't choose to share with millions of strangers.

I grew up listening to my Mom play all but three of those. I don't know why, but she never played The Lark Ascending, The Vivaldi, nor the Bach. She passed away 11 years ago at the age of 92, and this music made me so nostalgic--it's been years since I've heard some of these. Her signature piece was the Meditation from Thais by Massenet. Thanks, TwoSetViolin for taking me down a very fond, yet somewhat melancholy, memory lane. I still remember as a young kid watching her play the Ziguenerweisen where she would pizz with the left hand while still bowing with the right and I thought it was the craziest, coolest thing I'd ever seen or heard.

Brett actually does the Perlman lips when he plays. Whereas Eddy plays like Ray where he feels the music and scrunches his face when it's intense...well, I guess that's just the Chen way.
Musically, Eddy is softer and gentler which is why he's so perfect for Sib VC bc that piece has a slow build and the peaceful beginning is really brought out by Eddy when he plays that piece. But when he does chords and double stops, it comes off powerful and strong even if sometimes if there's a particularly hard chord, I kind of hear a very tiny pause like he's preparing for it (eg Brahms VC) and that gives some sort of musical contrast, which is something nice to hear.
Brett, on the other hand, is physically detached to his pieces but once you listen to his playing, they're strong and powerful like he pours all of feelings and effort into the piece. He does have some gentle pieces but they still come off strong. This is why I prefer Brett's Tchaik bc you can literally hear the frsutration in his playing. Idk, but to me, Tchaik VC 1st mvt implies an emotional conflict and Brett interprets this so well. His gentler pieces (eg Salut d'Amour) makes me think of a gentle giant (sorry i dunno how to convey stuff into words.) Basically, Brett's playing comes off strong even if he tries to be gentle in a nice way.
I'm probably reading into this wrongly so don't bother reading this. There's a reason why I failed Music classes in primary school.

The lark ascending brett played here seems like a soft and gentle song and tho he tried to make it seem that way it still felt strong.

3:12 I want to bet that was Brett's shoulder rest dropping, hence Eddy's smile while playing. That shoulder rest seems to hate him.

Boccherini definitely needs to be added to the list, the amount of movies I've heard that piece being played in the background is quite a lot.

It's sad Boccherini Minuet is so overplayed, it's a nice piece, despite being considered "basic", and because it's played so often, it's become a leitmotiv for "Posh and Fancy"
