In 1987 I was lucky to work as an assistant strength coach with Washington's Dan Riley, although I had really controlled form and techniques, Dan really stressed the pause and slow controlled negative. At 60 my joints are great. I teach all my athletes the importance of slow and controlled reps. Going super heavy will eventually catch up to you. As a pro bodybuilder, you cant afford tears and bad injuries

I am not a bodybuilder, yet yesterday I presented my thesis for getting my degree in civil engineering. Better late than never they say, I mean I am currently 33 and the past 15 years have been quite a rough ride. Even the last year hasn't been friendly once I was diagnosed with some sort of ankylosing spondylitis. I am on serious medication, the pain comes and goes, the side effects of methotrexate and TNF are real. But, hey, everyone's got their own struggles in life and fight for what's meaningful in their lives (sorry, that was me channeling JBP ha ha). Thanks for being authentic Chris, I wish you, Courtney, and the rest of the family all the best in life and health.

I remember the time when Chris was in his Ottawa apartment and he and Ryan had a Skype video session. Hilarious , full of mutual respect, brilliant to say the least. Been rooting for Ryan since the beginning of time. Man's finally the Men's Physique Mr. Olympia, a title that should have been his a while back. None the less, nothing but respect for him.
