This is definitely the most nostalgic theme to me and one of my favorites of all time. I was able to get all 7 of the sets and they’re just objectively some of the best sets from that year

personally i think LEGO dino is the second to best LEGO dinosaur wave ever released second to the dominion wave, it gaves us the modern dinosaur molds, it gave us a beautiful scenerio of rangers trying to get dinosaurs to safety and it gave us ducking ceolophysis, ask any LEGO fan in 2012 about ceolophysis and they wouldve not know what it is, im so happy they included such an obscure dinosaur, i really hope they bring back the mold
Yeah that’s fair for sure definitely an underrated theme! Glad to get obscure stuff too. I was really trying to look at this list in a 2012 mindset when I did it
I love this theme but I don’t think the dominion wave can compare. I think the fallen kingdom Line or the First Jurassic world movie line could compete more

Personally, one of the best themes lego has made and deserves a remaster of some kind. I have the ceolyphisis atv set, the sea plane set, the raptor truck set and the Trex helicopter set. All amazing and the HQ has always been a dream set for me and still is to this day.

Man this is among the the amazing and nostalgic Lego themes I loved when I was little. All the Lego mini-series from 2008 to 2014 were awesome and I’m so sad we didn’t see more of this series

It's wonderful to find a video about my favourite LEGO theme! I really feel that compared to other themes, Dino is not talked about almost at all!
Back in 2012/13 I dreamt about them, but only had T. rex Hunter (fav LEGO set of all time) and Ocean Interceptor. However, recently I started buying the remaining sets and improving the builds! Only missing the HQ right now, and uh, this bad boy is price-y
That HQ is pricey for sure, agreed very underrated!
I remember getting set 5887 from my parents as a gift for taking a vaccination (I was very young scared of syringes and determind to not take it) It gave me a lot of happy memories and im sad lego discontinued the theme

Lego really needs to start making dinosaurs,prehistoric animals and animals without reusing other dinosaurs,prehistoric animals and animals and Jurassic world dinosaurs should also not reuse other dinosaurs and they should fix the triceratops to nasutoceratops,fix baryonyx,giganotosaurus,therizinosaurus and other dinosaurs
Yeah it would be great if they could focus on the dinosaurs more!

Lego Dino is such an awesome theme because it introduced some of the incredible lego Dinosaur figures that are still used today... I hope Lego will make a new coelophysis, a Lego spinosaurus, jp3 Lego velociraptors, and more Lego dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 😄

I got a new one today for $50
I had the pteranodon dock set and the Trex helicopter set, don’t know what happened happened to all the pieces but I still have the dinosaur (and flying reptile) molds
I lost the tail of the Trex at a football game when I was a kid that made me very upset, my mom told me not to bring it but I did anyway.. I should’ve listened to her
Prior to that, when I had the helicopter put together my grandpa wanted to hold it (he wanted to hold any Lego thing I had)
And I told my mom that he would drop it but she made me give it to him
He dropped it and I never got all the pieces back to rebuild it
I should rebuy the set to make my inner child happy again
lol this pretty much sums up my thought process when looking at old Lego sets I had as a kid
I absolutely loved these sets when I was a kid, I wanted to try and collect all of them but they were so expensive lmao. I had the ATV with the Celophysis, The Raptor Truck set, The Sea Jet, and the T. Rex Helicopter. It was quite the experience back then.
Also, when I was that age, I always assigned genders to the T. Rexes specifically. The Red was a Male and the Green was a Female, looking back in hindsight, the other way around feels better.
You know, when i look at those sets, all of them look *so... unbelivably... OLD...* But i actually remember the series just coming out! Monents like this fills me with nostalgia, knowing that anything that looks cutting-edge new to you right now may look extremely old and outdated after some time.

I remember my brother getting the dino defense hq as a present. One of the best sets that weve ever got. I still have the set but its in shambles in my lego bin lol.

I would definitely say it’s my favorite original Lego theme and I’ve loved it since it came out. I’ve been collecting sets over the years and I have very set except ocean interceptor!
I wish we get more lego dino themes outside Jurassic Park/World

The only LEGO 2012 Dino Figure I've got is the Triceratops because i got it off of Ebay back in 2017

My theory is that the JW (my favourite line) and D12 are in the same universe, and D12 actually happens after the dominion wave. Basically, the free dinosaurs are trying to destroy LEGO city and the Dino rangers have to stop them.
5882 was my first lego set ever.

@@AFOLsWelcome Well I already have 5883 and 5884, but I’m probably not getting any more for a while. I’m gonna get the JP30 years sets the day they release next year, but no new Dinos sets. I’m getting the next modular set when it releases too. It’s gonna be my SEVENTH modular set! I have them arranged as a block on my floor, and if you want to see what the whole thing looks like, I did this crappy stop motion called Lego Gang Fight on my channel. Also, watch “Journey to Isla Sorna - Best of” because it shows the buildings there too. It’s a trilogy of live action Lego and model dinosaur videos I did that are an hour in total (my own Jurassic Park sequels). The “best clips” video is totally worth checking out, because it shows some cool Legos. Anyways, I’m trying to buy more Kenner JP toys now from the 90s, and I’m getting some of the best ones very soon!

Controversial opinion: LEGO should do outside of canon creatures for Jurassic world, some creatures we could get are: Pteranodon sternbergi (geosternbergia) (which is sort of canon), estemmenosuchus, Vulcanodon, styracosaurus, tropeognathus, Cearadactylus (sort of canon too), megatherium, innostrancevia, scuttosaurus, Plesiosaurus, Ichthyosaurus, deinosuchus, clidastes, platecarpus.
The reason why I suggest getting non canon species it’s so we can get more variation in our pterosaurs and more specifically a marine reptile, LEGO making a mosasaurus is very unlikely since it’s so big and would need so many molds but a plesiosaurus or ichtyosaurus would work
I think instead of doing outside jurassic park/world cannon they should just do another original dino theme
@@AFOLsWelcome true and give us scientifically accurate molds of existing lego dinosaurs, I would kill for a scientific accurate pteranodon in lego (tho LEGO’s is already very accurate)

I like how the selection of dinosaurs is basically just a less insane dino attack lineup with the addition of a triceratops. a raptor that's bigger than it should be, a t rex, a pterodactyl, and most importantly, a non-posable generic tiny dinosaur that nobody likes.
