“Geoffrey, my love”! That was sweet and he does deserve praise he is sweet. Great diy
When I first read the title, I thought you were solving your wood storage issue by just using all the wood to make a barn door 😆 what you did makes a lot more sense!
Lol, that was the 1st thing that popped into my brain, too!
You know you're old when you get excited about a "barn" door, but it's BEAUTIFUL!!! Yes, black was the perfect color. Now I'm thinking the she shed door should be black for continuity.
Lmao. Geoffrey. Because I can read?! He cracks me up!!
Happy birthday kenobi!! I love how you can tell how much you work with him! He’s such a gentleman!!!!
Yes Geoffrey is the perfect deadpan foil to bouncy Dani! 🥰🥰
Mod-Farm in black is certified DIY Danie. Geoffrey is engineered to be your interpreter. Jess for her memory...tent 👏 HaPpY bIrThDaY Kenobi!!!🥳🥳🥳 Danie, please keep on DIYing.
I'm thinking you should have made the diagonal piece on the left stationary section go the opposite way. Would go better with the mirrored layout of the moving doors. 🙌😉
This is EXACTLY what that space needed. So awesome! Plus I truly love the colors of your home. Black and tan (more taupe really which I love) is so classic and sophisticated.
oh thank you Trish! I love the black accents - it definitely goes with my vibe :)
Danie I was hoping you do an X on the side panels or turn one opposite way. Colour is great you could do the crosses lighter gray for more contrast. But it is your place as long as you happy I am too. Great job.👍
Same!
Wow! Do you ever think, “I am Brilliant!” Love that you find humor in weather situations.
I had reservations when you said you were painting them black, but I forgot your door and shutters were dark too! It looks PHENOMENAL! I don't mind that they're not mirrored, which surprises me. You're literally so creative and wonderful, you amaze me with every project!
This turned out so well and is such a great use of space. The only thing I would have done differently is made the stationary panels mirror each other.
💯 percent agreed!
I love the result, but I also wish she'd made side panels simetrical.
I love everything Dani does but this would have drove me crazy. All she would have needed to do is turn one of the panels upside down. Sorry I think it's my OCD.
This! Only thing jeje
Thank you! YESSSS!!! I kept thinking this when she put it up!
The doors make the whole curb look beautiful, that house was meant for you!!!
I’m never going to do most of the project on your channel but you’re just so much fun to watch because I can tell you love and enjoy it so much that it makes me happy to just watch the joy of diy radiating of my screen.
Your editor is seriously the best. All the little clips and images added in just made me laugh and they know you so well lol
The amount of restraint Kenobi showed with his cake is the discipline I need to aspire to.
Perfect solution to the "scoop"! Black is definitely the bomb. I hope to see you use that color on the fence and the She Shack doors and trim. It is just so crisp and clean looking. If I knew how to put emoji thingies on here I would put a row of hearts!
I can't believe it took you this long to do this. It's the first thing I thought of when you first showed us this weird alcove. So glad you now have a safe, dry space for your wood stock. Now all you need is for your Dad to install some lighting. Oh, and Happy Birthday Pup Pup.
Curb appeal just went way, way up!! Looks fantastic, and I love the black with brass. BTW, I always celebrated my furry babies' birthdays with a cake and candle, too. They are beyond precious.
What a gorgeous door. You’ve upped your “curb appeal” considerably!!! 🤩❤️
That was the perfect way to use that "odd" space. Love how you love your dog.
On another note, Mike Morgan on "Outdoors with the Morgans" uses geo-textile under his gravel to keep the weeds from taking over his driveway and the stones from sinking. You might want to consider doing that in the area between the she shack and the house.
Geoffrey is such a cutie! Y'all make a great team!
Y'all did a great job on this! Black is the best color!
Happy birthday, Kenobi!!!
@@bouncecat Are you having a bad day?
@@bouncecat You need to binge watch Danie's videos...he is the yin to her yang....he's calm and peaceful and she's all over the place...he's the introvert to her extrovert! I might can see your comment based on one video but I've been watching a long time and they are perfect for each other!
@@bouncecat You right there, Maria? Maybe a Bex and a lay down will cheer you up.
Omg 5:55 Danie feeling bad for evicting the poor spider from its home is me every time I have to clean cobwebs from windows or the ceilings. The little spiders eat the mosquitoes and flies and we won’t even let them live in peace :(
It turned out amazing! I love the color and style - it looks like its always been there.
I wish the side panels were mirrored Zs, but other than that I love your design!
I was just thinking that. 😬

YES!
@Joreena Bella hurts my soul. i hope she fixes it HA
YES! That is about the only criticism that I have for this. But overall it looks so much better. Really 'neatens' the area up. Great job Danie
Same!
I'm obsessed with this! It looks gorgeous and I think it's the perfect use of that space. Totally adds so much style to the front of your house too!
Not only did you solve your wood storage problem, you also enhanced your property and its value! Well done.
Black barn doors with brass hardware? YES PLEASE!! I love this, Danie, it's so awesome! ❤❤❤
The doors look fantastic! I hope you paint your she shed door the same black to tie it in. You are very inspiring:) Happy Birthday Kenobi
WOW!!! How awesome!! Talking about turning an obstacle into a great opportunity!! WOW!!
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I love the result! I feel like now you need to paint the she shed doors black to match !
I love the doors and that black paint is perfect! Now, let’s talk about how you sketched over that photo….I have a big remodel coming up and am struggling with the outside aesthetics. I’m going to try this in Procreate…genius, Danie!
I want a stoop just so I can do this! Jeffrey always seems so serious. He's got a beautiful smile. Great job.
ha! he certainly does
The barn doors look beautiful! So worth it for the curb appeal alone. Well done! And happy birthday to sweet Kenobi! 🎂
It’s so wonderful seeing your idea go from “paper” to reality. Perfectly executed and makes your home complete. Are you going to make the She Shack doors match? And happy birthday to your sweet Kenobi! And also…your sleeve! Loving it!
Oh you bet I am! Stay tuned!
Thats a great idea!!!
This was a genius solution. I love that it’s functional and beautiful. You really upped the curb appeal!
I’m English and you could have painted a Union Jack (but, you chose to do it a beautiful black - absolutely stunning. You give all the ladies inspiration love Lesley England xx
Holy moly, what a difference! So right for that space.
Have you ever thought painting the exterior house as well? The barn doors are amazing! Wow you nailed it once again. 👏👏👏
Wow. That made and odd little area look, not just more intentional, but really beautiful. Great job Danie!
Turned out amazing!! Only thing I would’ve done would be staining the X details of the door a dark or special walnut and keeping the rest black. 💕
You did another amazing transformation from a odd space to a fully functioning space that looks great....I would have painted it a deep hunter green but then I'm a redhead ....it's in our dna.... happy birthday hugs to Kenobi !!
I keep wondering why a previous owner left that weird open space. Looks like they finished a garage to make a room (her studio?) but made one wall several feet inset from where the garage doors originally were. Not enough space for an open porch so it’s just odd. But Danie figured out a way to make it useful.
The result looks beautiful, well done you!
Now the she-shack also needs its doors painted black. 😁
Looks amazing, definitely black, classy and combined with the grey board looks fantastic. "I love it when a plan comes together" A TEAM strikes again 😉
I enjoy you so much.... your skill level is unmatched, but it is your personality that me feel like I'm spending s little time with s great friend! Love all your videos, especially this one! Say hi to Jeffrey, hi to the pops and we'll see you next week!!
Amazing Danie, the black doors work really well with the asthetics of the outside of your house, I feel like it really adds a wonderful punch to your house curb a peal. I always wondered what they were thinking when they added that funky part to the house, it almost looks like they had a garage and got rid of it and made that funky little area in the front of the house. Now you have really made it look so amazing because you are the most awesome DIYer and always give me so much inspiration. thanks for another amazing video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
I had to laugh out loud when you told the spider you were moving him! That's ME! 😁 So cute! The barn doors look great!!
I love watching your wood projects. I am happy to know you have been hoarding wood cuz I was worried the wood projects would suffer due to increase in cost. Not only did it turn out beautiful (as always) but you are so inspiring that us ladies can do it!
Yasss girl! The cost is super high right now so it does hinder my build ideas BUT i love building with wood so much - so happy you loved this one!
A DIY'er I follow on youtube from Florida just bought wood for a project and said the price was pretty much down to pre-covid rates. That was very encouraging to hear! 👍😀
Per your question in the video around 3 min.:
Your DIY bones are your elbows (where elbow grease comes from), and your knuckles for most projects, and your knees for flooring projects.
It nice that you and Jeff work so well together! End result is Beautiful! Loved watching Kenobi get & eat his bday cake.
Feel like your curb looks so much better now, feel like she’s needs makeover now too, maybe redo concrete around there and shed and add some greenery to complete it, love it
This project is great! It's a beautiful design element on your house and a great use of your interesting alcove! Black is perfect.
I love the black doors and gold hardware, but the only thing I would've done differently is to get a black lock instead of gold. But you really are the Queen of DIY. Great job!
Awesome ♡ I got some ideas what you could diy next:
- re-do the front yard
- do the outside of the She Shad plus expand it
- diy some free vintage furniture from marketplace etc and sell them on a regular yard sale or Little Shop in your Shad:)
Loving all of it!! Amazing job! If I may suggest, paint the she-shed doors also that beautiful black ❤️❤️
Oh Danie!! you are such a crazy creative energy that I just adore!!
This project was great as they all are but I love how they all tie together! I love the color and would definitely do the same. Rustic chic!! Looking forward to the next video! Keep up the energy that motivates the rest of us... No pressure there at all!! 😊😁💃😎
Wow, love those doors. The storage will be amazing. The black was the perfect choice.
Wow what a difference. Your house front looks massively better and functional. I love the black it looks classic
Love it!! That color just makes a statement, and it is the nicest wood storage space I’ve seen before . TFS😊😊
Absolutely stunning! What an incredible improvement - looks like it was always supposed to look like this. :-)
It's beautiful! Isn't it nice to have a handy man around when you need one? Bless him :)
Beautiful statement for your storage. Nice curb appeal. Love that you got Jeffery’s help team work.
LOVE IT! The black is perfect! And how nice of Jeff to help! You guys are a cute couple. :) Happy Birthday Kenobi!
Would love to see an organization video. A few diy bays for different timber. A box for little scrap pieces etc. Great job as usual.
You have every diyers dream wood storage area!!! LOVE it. I love the color and the barn doors. I keep telling you as I watch your video's I love the way you and Jeff work together. You compliment each other so well. You are too cute. I love your channel. I want my hubby to see this and figure where at our home we can build a storage spot like that for our wood. It is over taking my garage area!!!!!!
Visually stunning storage. The black is lovely. Makes you think that the space behind the door 🚪 will be huge.
Love it 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Love the barn door aesthetic! You should do doors to match on the she-shed. It would look so ~cohesive~
Man, the Black so works on your building!❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was an amazing job! You and Jeffrey knocked it out the park💕
Just FYI: Gotta remember to get your wood off the floor. It will warp standing as it is. If you build some hanging racks, then lay the pieces flat, they keep each other from warping.
Love the doors and the black color. Now paint your she shed doors to match. It would be stunning!
Love the new “barn doors”. And love the idea to match the she-shack doors to them. But now I think you need to highlight your front door with a different color to make it stand out. Your exterior is so neutral you could choose any color. What is your favorite? And then just play with the hue
With the lock on the two sliding doors and not on a stationary door, can’t you just slide the two doors over and still have a little opening?
I also want to know the answer to this. Is there a stopper in the middle that stops each door from going past the halfway point? I can't tell from the video.
I’m thinking maybe she’s not *that* worried about the contents being stolen, because then a 2nd lock (at the bottom) would have made sense. More like removing the temptation/access for the grab-&-run types walking past. (Sort of like a less-consequential version of why we [successfully] petitioned for our neighborhood park that abuts an elementary school playground to have a wrought iron fence put up around it. No locks, but the mere presence of the barrier decreases easy access & deters ill-intentioned people.)
Wow! Just love it when storage is pretty too! She shack door needs a coat of black but I love your little house. Happy Birthday Kenobi!
Wood is good…finished the side table and on to noodling out the most simple cross cut sled for my table say. Used ‘kerf’ to make the runner…new skills and I still have all my fingers…what a good day
It looks amazing! It's so clean and professional looking and such a good use of the weird space.
(And a completely random sidenote: it looks like a couple of your shingles are starting to lift... you can kind of see it at 19:35)
Been waiting for this video since you bought the house!!
Can’t wait to watch the process!
Wow! That is AMAZING! Now you have to paint the doors on your she shed that same beautiful black.💜
This is BEAUTIFUL!! Wow. Curb appeal through the roof! Kudos to you and Geoffrey for some amazing problem-solving :D
Ps. Happy birthday, Kenobi
Loving the black/brass combo. You had me at soft-closing! 💜
Girl, you have just outdone yourself on this project. Awesome!
I - I honestly thought you intended to put up doors from the beginning? I’m not sure why I thought that but I did. I’ve actually been waiting for this video! I was confused when you put plants in there but decided it must be, like, a temp thing until you were able to do the doors. 🤷♀️ It turned out great!
I love it! I think I would have gone black for the lock and brass for just the handles. But it looks great either way.
I really struggle with wood storage because my “workshop” is our patio and things are so humid the wood would get wrecked. I have a wood bookshelf in my living room for small pieces and the big stuff is shoved in a bedroom closet 😂
Such a perfect solution! Love the black and the gold accents make it pop! Such a transformation!
Genius solution! I though the black was too much, but I was wrong it really works! Blessed and safe days!
Excellent job. The black is superb. The whole space looks like a high end stable.
Love it! Now all of the doors on the She shack need to be that fabulous black colour too.
Oh wow that's amazing, looks so much better, well done to you both. Have a great weekend Danie and Jeffrey xx🐝🌻☀️🙌🏽
You did a GREAT job Danie!! Looks fantastic!! Happy birthday Kenobi!! Thanks for the assistance Geoffrey!!
Definitely a "slap the door good project" right there, Danie!!👍👌😍
Even after you leave, it's a very usefull space for outdoor kinda stuff you want to reach quicly for, such as bikes.
Girl, it is so cool to watch a woman KILL IT in the woodworking space. You are AWESOME!
This looks so good & is a great improvement. And a super goid use of an awkward space. Love it!
Ah! Danie, another winner! Love the color, the look from the road is so beautiful. I will be saving this video, as I too want to have barn doors on my garage. I look forward to your next video, you are so inspiring to women everywhere. Love my tools and you make the projects seem simple enough for me. God Bless! ~Debi in Ohio
You should paint the doors of the She Shed black to tie the buildings togeather.
AMAZING!! LOVE IT!! I was soo skeptical with black but once I saw it with the whole house and see it matching the roof and door- it's PERFECT
WOW!! What an amazing DIY! I am jealous of all that cool wood storage space. AND….it adds so much to the look of the house. I was a little skeptical about the black. But you were right. It’s perfect.
Happy 3rd Birthday Kenobi. You are the sweetest doggy.
The solution was there the whole time. Great project.
Love your channel. You're the bees knees. Happy Birthday Kenobi !! Loved seeing him romp. Dogs make me happy. Yay for Geoffrey, he's a keeper 😉. Hi from Australia xx
Great way to transform an odd little part of your home into something you can use and love. I love to see the process.
