- Morgs evades sharks and crocodiles on a solo fly fishing adventure along the Northern Territory's pristine coastline, fishing some of Australia's most wild & abundant marine ecosystems. Cod (grouper), Barramundi & Golden Snapper are targeted along the rocky headlands then he moves to the clear sandy beaches to chase Mangrove Jacks, Tuskfish, Trevally and Queenfish. Fly-fishing doesn't get much better..

Apologies for the little bits of rough language in this video. I sometimes forget I'm filming myself. I do actually talk to myself while I'm fishing alone. Apparently been doing it since I was 5 according to dad.

I'm no fly fisherman but you have my respect for landing fish on such light gear in those rocky areas.
Landing them makes you appreciate it all the more WAN (western Australia now and then)

Among the coolest fishing videos I have ever seen. Mangrove Jack, Cod, Tusky, GT, Trevally, Blue Bass, Barra, Queenfish ..... Wow. The Everglades has come close at times but that place is very special.

What an amazing place...u literally caught 3+ amazing species of game fish in a clear watered beach paradise...then walked off the beach and entered what looked like a completely different world, and proceeded to catch more beauties....incredible just to watch, let alone do..
14:40 Beauty. Look at the line, and how it VISIBLY whips the bright white fly back and forth. My goodness. I am blessed to have great fishing in Alaska, where I live, but it seems that northern australia is a place that I absolutely must visit

Sharing your fishing spot with sharks and crocodiles must be both exciting and terrifying. When that shark followed the fish you were playing early on in the video came straight at you i have to admit my heart skipped a beat, i cant imagine how you felt been a foot or so from it. Well done the was an amazing video and some great fly fishing. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

The production is first class. By far my favourite fishing channel. Love the fishery, love the commentary but most of all love the conservation drive behind the way you guys fish. Loved this production particularly the amazing range of species safely & quickly released; I’ve been flyfishing fresh & salt for 60 years & seldom kept a fish (maybe 6 in all that time) & it’s a good feeling.

Steve Holmes cheers mate, to be honest it was more luck than anything you just have to keep the pressure on them and I hope that there are no obstacles underneath that rock that he is capable of wrapping me around. That was the lucky one there are plenty more in the catalogue that didn’t turn out so well. Morgs.

@@fishingthewild8542 Yeh the first thing I want to tick off is a blue groper on fly. Don't think its very been done before and they can be a bit finicky with lures. Also samsonfish and kingfish would be fun and a bit easier to tempt

My cuz we fly fish in the surf here in South Africa and a lot of the guys use a plastic laundry basket generally cable tied to their belts to take up the line when you are retrieving that way, you don’t trip over the line and secondly don’t leave it all over the rocks if you are fishing off a point etc.. it also allows you to play the fish safely if it goes on a run.. just a thought use it don’t use it. Love your shadow can’t wait for each vid. Lucky buggers being able to fish such pristine waters.
Thanks Guy, yeah we have striping baskets here too, and even the bigger modified versions for the big GT's on the shallow reefs. I personally don't really like them, changes the angle of my line strip and makes my shoulder work harder, thus making it harder to fish all day. I still use them very rarely, but I would. rather have a few more tangles than use one. Cheers from Australia!

@@thomastuorto9929 l ove-hate relationship with stripping baskets Ted, at the moment -it's hate. Don't like the stripping abgle it makes me do, fatigues my shoulders after hours casting 10 or 11 weight. But its good advice regardless..

Peppi Poohductions- Waka’s hunt and fish Yes we agree completely. It is a combination of a complete lack of population pressure, very low levels of development and wonderful stewardship from the indigenous people that have resulted in this marine ecosystem being so prolific
However to be honest only 100 years ago almost every coastline would have been similar to this! It is worryingly apparent how fast these pristine ecosystem is disappearing. If you ever do get the chance make sure you come and see the Northern Territory it is one of a kind.

Sail 2 Spear SS its a long, frustrating, life long learning curve. One of those things where the more you learn, the more you realise how much more there is to learn. But rewarding beyond anything else outside my family and friends.

Big GT,s eat EVERYTHING Gaz. Turtules, birds, small crocs, anything they can get there mouths around. Sometimes they even headbutt small mammals that are in the water. If they got even bigger, they would be a threat to man!
