    This is Ray Combs baby sister Toni Combs. I just wanted to say Thank you to whom ever added this video and also to all of the people who still hold fond memories of my brother. He was not only the host of a televised game show he was a great man and I am proud that he was my brother, it was way too short of a time he still had a lot of living to do.But I'm sure there is a stage and an audience up in heaven and he is making those people laugh just as he was when he was here on earth. I know he watches over me now from up above and is my guardian angel just as he was when he was still alive.Until we are reunited. Family's are forever.

      I really enjoyed watching your brother. I miss him, too. I once attended a taping that he hosted. One of my friends CRASHED the stage when the family won their Fast Money. I thought he was going to get in trouble but they acted as if he was part of the family. I am glad Buzzr is now airing the episodes (a small amount but better than nothing) that he hosted on the Feud.

      Hey Nick it was really great to hear from you I have my Game Show Network setup to record all of them in hopes of only catching maybe a glimpse of Raymond or even one of his episodes so if you know when he's going to be on if you could please let me know I would so greatly appreciate it and I usually try to put a memorial in the newspaper on the anniversary of his passing that I wrote to him what's been going on 21 years it's hard to believe that someone that meant so much to you give me going in that short of time I still don't understand why I was one of that call from the hospital and I want to know how to get ahold of my parents I was in Hamilton Ohio they said they believe that he didn't have a problem that it was his wife making everything up to this day I can see that because she remarried her orthodontic surgeon I think it was 3 weeks later after a man's supposed to the side we won't know until we meet him again on the other side and he was a devout Mormon and he practice that stuff having a very hard time right now because I have a brain tumor I have lost both of my parents which I took care of both of them up until they pass if you could please keep me posted as to when you think he will be on the show thank you so much and you have a good

    Ray Combs was the MAN - I grew up watching Dawson host the show but Combs was better - such a shame what happened with him because he was one of the last entertainers who seemed like they were born to host a game show. I think he would be hosting the Price is Right today. He hit it off well with Bob Barker and was his natural successor.

    Ray Combs would have been the perfect successor to Bob as host of The Price is Right. So sad he took his own life and never had the opportunity.

      A little interesting fact, which is, about 4 years later, Ray appeared once again on TPIR to do a plug for the new Family Feud Challenge and to do an inspiration putt during Hole in One.

    Were there any other game show hosts besides Ray Combs, Bob Eubanks, and Bert Convy that appeared on the show to promote their show on the Barker price is right? I know Bob Eubanks appeared on the show to promote Card Sharks, Ray Combs to promote Family Feud, and Bert Convy to promote Tattletales as well as Bill Cullen to promote Child's Play. I know on the Drew Carey version Wayne Brady appeared to promote Let's make a deal and I have seen once on Richard Dawson's Family Feud, Alex Trebek appeared to promote Winner Take All but I don't know if he ever did

      Bob Goen promoted Wheel of Fortune moving from NBC to CBS daytime in 1989. It was the only non-Goodson game show I recall being plugged during the Barker era of TPIR, but seeing that nightime syndicated Wheel was the number one show in the country at the time, I kind of get the move haha.

      They didn't start doing the ticket plug after the first SCSD until later.

    • @meyerj75
      @meyerj75 Před 8 lety +4

      Sometime around October or November 1988, the ticket plug announcement would trade places from before to after the SCSD.
