  • What is the best shutter speed for moving water. I get asked this question a lot. Pro photographers are giving you the wrong, or it's incomplete. But I’m about to suggest the missing jigsaw piece now
I don't mean to be disrespectful, as a part time Pro I include myself in this group of exceptional creative and skilled individuals. But being a pro or semi-pro does not mean you have all the answers, it just means you make a little money from photography.
he question “What shutter speed do you use for your water photography?” is without the most common question I am asked at camera club lectures. And I have never given this answer, why? I only realised it two weeks ago.
    Chapters:
00:00 Introduction: So what is the best shutter speed for moving water?
01:08 What do I look for as a subject.
02:34 The best shutter speed for moving water depends on.
    03:42 Controlling the light .
    05:13 Modify the light.
07:04 Don’t kill the nature and mood water.

Faster the better! I usually try for 1/16000!
Seriously, there are so many variables to consider: type of water, movement of water, location of the water, etc., and then what is the desired effect? Is some movement desired in the photo, or total blur of the movement? I seriously think there is no one answer. And NO ONE KNOWS everything there is about Photography. I’ve been tripping the shutter for 45 some years, and still find myself learning, discovering, and wondering about Photography, and making stupid mistakes along the way. I liked how you ‘wrapped up’ your Video. Stay safe and Happy Shooting!
