    I have been fishing a variation of this pattern for over 20yrs. I use it as a dropper behind a Stimulator. It is my "go to" nymph as a dropper and it has worked very well on streams from Arizona to Wyoming.

    I've been watching the best fly tyers for years and I would say you belong in the company of the top five I've seen - very neat, cleanly executed and well thought out.

    Nice job. Some unfamiliar materials since I started fly tying 40 years ago and haven't really updated. This will get me going again. I am inspired!

    Great video . Thanks for showing that some times things like the hackle slips but can be saved . I wish the rivers weren’t so low 😒 but looking forward to fish this pattern. Thanks!

    Good tip about the couple of thread wraps behind the rib. I sometimes have difficulty getting the first wrap to lay right. Thanks. Regards from the UK.

    I've been tying pretty seriously over the past 1 1/2 years and I'm extremely impressed with the end product of all your tutorial videos. At the basic level, you're doing the same thing as everyone else, placing materials on a hook one at a time. However, the flies that come off your vice really stand out among the other popular tiers out there. Perfect example of how tying is art.

    If you use dubbing for legs, what does the partridge suggest?

  • @keithandmarsieberrington-s8594

    Man that green dubbing looks great when you hit that with the UV what's in it?????...

    I love to fish these small flies.Great for fall trout fishing. Huge trout will hit these in size #18 & #20.Tight Lines

    @zafotbeeb Před 7 lety +4

    Nicely done , my only criticism would be how you crossed the thread under the bead leaving it vulnerable to fish teeth. Crossing the thread over the top of the bead would result in it being protected by the UV resin and shell back cover.

      @davids11131113 Před rokem

      I’d tie off behind the bead, then retire in front of the bead for the case tie and hackle.

    Hello sir:
    Question: What is that nifty little low height dubbing mixer you use?
    Thank you and well done!

  • @flyfish6473
    @flyfish6473 Před 5 lety +1

    Should have tied off behind the bead then back on in front of the bead to finish the fly. Going under the bead with the thread makes for a weak fly.

    • @isaach1447
      @isaach1447 Před 5 lety

      The UV resin will keep it from unwrapping even if the thread crossing the bottom of the bead gets chewed off. This seems like a very stout pattern!
