I neverrrr thought I’d part with Halloweentown but I got so dang mad! They price gouged and ultimately out-priced themselves. At almost $1 per cube U.S. I won’t. These were hard cuts hun, good bars here!
Wow. You know it's serious when you cut Halloween Town! (and BH6 for me) We're totally on the same page sis. I was fuming hot mad over that whole thing 😤 It's the same with the new Inside Out collection. I didn't bother. They basically re-created scents we already have and made them licensed so they're more expensive... no thanks 👎
I live in the US so pay $7 (previously $6.50) for licensed bars. I totally agree with you being unwilling to pay extra for packaging. I also love Fearless By Nature and Dumbo but removed them from my club when they increased in price. I bought some extra Dumbo bars during the last flash sale too. I only have 1 partial bar of Fearless By Nature left and am enjoying it very sparingly. I keep my bars organized in bins so never see the cuter packaging unless I'm using them or reorganizing my stash. I don't understand paying extra for them unless you display them.

I absolutely hear you on the cost of licensed bars! The cost in the US is not quite as bad as in Canada and one of my top 5 of all time bars is Halloween Town so I am not at a point (yet!) to totally cut all licensed bars.

Loooove this video. Great job sharing your thought process. I am the same with regard to not being able to just drop everything at once from my club. I have to go in chunks. This is much like what I expect my August club cut to look like. I have only been a consultant for a little under a year. And have had a club a little over year. When I realized, I might actually decide to become a consultant I felt I needed to understand what club was all about so I could help people with it. So I started one and canceled it to see how hard it was. Tried every frequency. :) I am going to be keeping my club because I do think it has value. But it only has value from my view if it isn't overwhelming my wax stash. I will say before like 3 years ago I only purchased licensed bars in clearance or in bundles with licensed warmers or something like that. And that strategy has allowed me to experience almost every licensed collection. I honestly feel like licensed bars show up pretty frequently in clearance and flash sales. I have never cared for needing to pay the licensing fee with the licensed bars being more expensive than regular Scentsy bars. Licensed bars that I most love is typically connected to stories or experience that hold a special place in my heart. I think often Scentsy does a great job of storytelling through scent on the licensed collections. So, I absolutely will still experience them but I'm more likely to single purchase them rather than club them. The reality is for me (and I think we are similar spots) when you have so many things that you enjoy clubs can get HUGE quickly. I've been melting Scentsy wax for 16 years and so far there hasn't been a year when I haven't found a few bars a year that I absolutely love. It's hard to make cuts, but its very worthwhile, I think. Great job! Aaand no ... you can't talk too much about King CAKE! I looooove that bar.
I think it's wonderful that you tried out all variations of club to test it out for your customers, that's awesome! As for licensed bars, it's not that I will never purchase them again but when I do it will have to be at some sort of discount because I just can't justify the $9 price tag. I do realize that even licensed bars are discounted though club once you meet the $ amount threshold but felt I needed to take a stand just on principle alone. I really wish Scentsy would have picked a different strategy as far as price increases and hope that enough people sent the message that bar price hikes don't go over well with consumers. But I'm going to try not to club them. :) That's the hard part of having a club. I can't just put bars in and think about it later for fear I will forget. But they are so unique and I think they really hit it out of the park in creating fragrances that are evocative of the story that each bar represents. I'm going to try to just enjoy them and let them go. :)

Great video! I currently have 31 bars in my Club and feel that I need to cut it down, it's just coming to terms on what stays and what goes! My next Quarterly Club is scheduled for July but I plan to skip that shipment, and from there will make a big edit with bars that will return for F/W, July BBMB, and retiring S/S scents. I am hoping that Frosted Cinnamon Roll returns this fall along w/Rum Pum Plum.

I've watched videos where people have said that a particular bar smells like this or that and then I can't unsmell that afterwards 😅 That's why I'm always very hesitant and choosey with my words when it comes to explaining scents because I really don't want to ruin a favourite for anyone.
I really enjoyed this video! Edits can be hard but are necessary for a variety of reasons. I recently did a brutal edit on my own, but realistically I can only melt so much wax!

Same I cut all licensed bars I don’t like that they raised the price that much. And dumbo was a tough one to let go of. I got some in the flash sale too! Keep us posted on if you find a good dumbo substitute!

I just made quite a bit of cuts to my club this morning - I went from 54 to 37 bars. I added so many limited bars that I have never smelled before and was like can't miss it if I never had it so I removed many of those. I have 13 bars from the F/W catalog as I hope they all return again I'm looking at removing that Dumbo bar too. I do love it but $1 more makes me mad!!
Wow, great job on your edit, you cut a lot! I'm not sure if you feel like I do but as hard as club edits are I always walk away feeling better (and lighter) once I get my club to a more comfortable, manageable level. I hope all of your fall/winter bars return 🤞 It's another big relief when they do! 😊
Brandi I agree with you, prices keep going up and wages are not going up so we have to be more mindful of where we spend our money. $9.00 for a bar is a bit steep. That is a bummer about whipped vanilla pear, sounds like apple cherry strudel for me, love it, but o my lasts 4 hours. 😢 oh how I miss satin sheets, my husband however does not miss it. 😂. I love vanilla barnwood. I don’t think I ever melted simply vanilla. Happy birthday is light for me unless I sit on it for a year. 😂
That is actually the perfect comparison Aubrey. Yes! Whipped Vanilla Pear and Apple Cherry Strudel are so similar in performance. I was really sad to have that happen, I absolutely love the scent but can't justify keeping a 4 hr bar.
I’m struggling right now with the licensed bars in club. I am one who has never been wowed with licensed bars. I don’t get the hype for a package that will go right in the trash bin. So with the price hike, I feel even more salty about it 😆. I am struggling right now, cause I have one bar in club that I’ve kept as it’s a boomer. But like you, I don’t wish to reward bad behavior 😏
I hear you Heather! In the end you have to do what's right for you. At the time I felt that was where I wanted to take a stand so I did. It doesn't mean I'll never buy another licensed bar but if I do it would have to be at a discount ($9 is ridiculous!) My only big regret is not buying a bunch of Big Hero 6 when it showed up in sales. Because I had it in my club and had no intentions of taking it out I didn't feel that was necessary. Lesson learned! 😅

I'm not sure if you feel like I do but as hard as club edits are I always walk away feeling better (and lighter) once I get my club to a more comfortable, manageable level. I hope all of your fall/winter bars return 🤞 It's another big relief when they do! 😊
Brandi I agree with you, prices keep going up and wages are not going up so we have to be more mindful of where we spend our money. $9.00 for a bar is a bit steep. That is a bummer about whipped vanilla pear, sounds like apple cherry strudel for me, love it, but o my lasts 4 hours. 😢 oh how I miss satin sheets, my husband however does not miss it. 😂. I love vanilla barnwood. I don’t think I ever melted simply vanilla. Happy birthday is light for me unless I sit on it for a year. 😂
That is actually the perfect comparison Aubrey. Yes! Whipped Vanilla Pear and Apple Cherry Strudel are so similar in performance. I was really sad to have that happen, I absolutely love the scent but can't justify keeping a 4 hr bar.
I’m struggling right now with the licensed bars in club. I am one who has never been wowed with licensed bars. I don’t get the hype for a package that will go right in the trash bin. So with the price hike, I feel even more salty about it 😆. I am struggling right now, cause I have one bar in club that I’ve kept as it’s a boomer. But like you, I don’t wish to reward bad behavior 😏
I hear you Heather! In the end you have to do what's right for you. At the time I felt that was where I wanted to take a stand so I did. It doesn't mean I'll never buy another licensed bar but if I do it would have to be at a discount ($9 is ridiculous!) My only big regret is not buying a bunch of Big Hero 6 when it showed up in sales. Because I had it in my club and had no intentions of taking it out I didn't feel that was necessary. Lesson learned! 😅

I don't have Central Park Pralines 😭 I've been begging for it to come back since 2020! That was a bbmb that I wasn't really paying attention to unfortunately and discovered too late how much I absolutely love it! 💗
