I admit before I heard ‘Amy’ for the first time, it never even occurred to me that Widowspeak exploring electronica would work, but this is so vibey and fits like a velvet glove. A future Widowspeak album consisting of even more hooky, triple stacked acoustic guitar style tracks of the “Money”/ “Even True Love” style (balanced out with a deeper exploration of synthesiser programming, as here on “Amy”), combined to a precision focus on writing bridge/ middle 8 sections - would be a wonderful evolution to the Widowspeak sonic narrative!
I don't think they used synths for this song (this song could've easily fit on expect the best) also, this album has the most pop hook sensibilities (the first 6 tracks are used as singles) which leaves sure thing/jeannie/y2k as more slow burners. I don't think you could/should get more hooks out of a widowspeak album. Not trying to be negative, just looking for discussion.

As much as I love this song/ album/ video (& this video really is perfect for ‘Amy’), I can’t help but wish “Even True Love” had also been allocated a video budget as well, it has the sound of Springtime so I hope it’s not too late for that to happen.
