    Oh wow, great work once again. Always a pleasure seeing you work your magic on cars you build. This GT40 looks great now that it's done, very realistic indeed. Well done Thomas 👍🏼👍🏼

    This is a nice work! I'm working on the revell mode, and the biggest trouble is the Gulf blue.
    I'm looking in FS595 and the color seems to be the 15450. Not easy to find here in Italy... If you don't want to spend 25€ for a 125 ml bottle. Almost the same price of the model!

      Thank you very much. Yeah, I had the same problem. As I don't have an airbrush, I bought a spray can of Ford Bermuda light blue from a car parts shop. I'm happy with the colour.

      Thank you for replying. You have a new follower. I'll try with airbrush otherwise I'll go for plan B and buy the spray.
      What colour did you use for the braking discs? I can't find the metallic brass....

    can I ask you what color you used for the orange? I will buy me an official zerop paints LIGHT BLUE FORD GT40 MK II KEN MILES but not sure for the colour of Oraneg/red to use

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Před rokem

      Sure but it was just orange enamel gloss from a UK store called Wilkinson so not proper model paint. I'm sure Zero must have a correct shade too though. Good luck!

    Great build. What did u use for the orange and blue

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Many thanks. So I built this before I airbrushed so it was with spray cans. The blue was Ford Bermuda blue and the orange was just a basic gloss orange.

    Can I ask you what kind of blue did you use for that livery? Looks perfect to the original one

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Před 2 lety

      Thank you very much - it's Ford Bermuda light blue. I got a can from Halfords but I'm sure you can get it in a jar too.

    Great work! 👏🏻 Where’s the engine gone? 😢

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Tom. There's not a full engine in this which means it's strange that they made the engine cover removable really!

    • @TJFNixon
      @TJFNixon Před rokem +1

      @@BOABModels ah. That’s a shame. Part of the charm of the car.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Před rokem

      Yeah, I agree. There are other versions of the GT40 like the Meng kit which do have an engine I believe.

  • @LanceisLawson

    The problem with modern plastic models it there's too many small parts and bits and pieces. IMHO it's better to sacrafice some detail to allow more expedient assembly. Once the finished model goes into the display case the chassis detail becomes a moot point. I imagine many of these kits never get finished because builders get discouraged with too many parts.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Před 8 měsíci

      This is why personally I'm not too fussed about curbside kits as I don't display the engines anyway. If they have one, cool, but if not, I don't mind.
