Koby, one of our older, male Red kangaroos had two rotten teeth removed by our local vet a couple of months ago.
A month later, he succumbed to a mouth infection in the same area. Koby is a 12 and a half year old boy, which makes infections harder to fight off. He lost some body condition with the cold and wet winter which then makes it more difficult to recover.
We made the choice to bring him inside at night a few weeks ago. With his antibiotics and a warm environment, Koby is well on his way to overcoming his symptoms.
Now he is stronger in himself, Koby likes to join in on food preparation. Stretching up, he is on our kitchen bench, definitely starting to make things a little more challenging but all worth it in the end.
Koby is a gentle giant, walks around Simone when she is laying on her blanket and lets little Dobby, our red joey try and be the boss at bottle time. He is one gorgeous kangaroo inside and out.❤️🦘
