    You know you've been together a long time, when you sleep in 2 different air mattresses ❤! Been with hubs for 18 years, so separate beds for the win!!

    Great video guys. I went tent camping years ago with my parents in Roan Mountain State Park for a week. It rained almost all week. When we came home, dad asked mom if she would do it again. Mom said yes in a camper, not a tent. Dad bought a camper later. Awesome views of the mountains and the elk, beautiful animals.

      I wouldn’t mind camping in a tent as long as it’s inside of a hotel room and on a real bed

    Well Jeff, you didn’t seem out of your element even though you don’t like camping. Great job with the review and presentation. Although that is a nice tent, we’re too old and broke down for tent camping. We’ll just stick with our fifth wheel camper.

    NICE!! And here I thought MY tent was big at 190-200 square feet with a back door. 21 feet from side to side, 9-10 feet from door to door and 7.5 feet height at center. Says it'll sleep 10-12, but I use this for just ME. Queen size inflatable, 18 inches high on one end/side and 2-3 chairs(Harbor Freight heavy duty with fold down side tray) at the other end/side with the middle open where I hang a Luminiser Lantern(powered by a single flame lamp oil candle, generates electric from the heat) to brightly light up everything inside with LED lights. The oil candle alone makes a great night light, 8 hours per candle. I would advise you to get the toughest and meanest tarp to set your tent onto. The floor will last much longer. I use a 24'x24' folded in half, giving me double extra protection/thickness. The tarp, itself, weighs more than my tent. lol I figure an 18'x18' tarp would help you protect against floor holes. That's normally the first holes I get in my tents, lousy twigs. lol I like how yours is more uniform dimensional, the footprint of it. The stove vents would really come in handy, no doubt.The shot of the multiple Elk in the field was GORGEOUS with the Farm and Mountain backdrop!! I'd hang that scene on my wall in a heartbeat and not have to worry about hearing my Wife nag about it. WE LOVE THE SMOKIES, no matter which side you're on. lol And are we supposed to address you as Ranger Jeff now?? I'm asking for a friend. lol Nice video/review and thanks a million for the beautiful roadside journey on the way to Jellystone.

      @@doribellan there's some nicer campgrounds on the Blue Ridge Parkway. But you're right, we were lucky enough to find some wilderness camping in Pisgah National Forrest and White Oak Falls in VA. That's on Skyline Drive the Parkway that the BRP runs into.

    All that room and no invite! 😂 That tent is cool! Gave me Harry Potter vibes when they went into a small tent and when they show the inside it was a huge arena 😂. I love camping 🏕 but my wife and kids prefer staying in a cabin. We had an air mattress that had a built in air pump so filling it up was fast. I love water running in the background, it’s so relaxing. Those rebar stakes are serious! They make my stakes look like toothpicks 😂😂😂😂

    That looks like a nice tent for sure but at 63 and disabled my ideal of camping is a trailer which we have,we bought a new 2016 35 foot from toung to bumper 2 slids everything remote controlled and to this day we have not camped in it the dotor assured me if I let her put in a pain pump that the quality of life would be much greater but in fact it went the opposite direction so we have a brand new 2016 travel trailer that has never been camped in. You all enjoy yourself happy mothers day to all and as always be safe 👍

    Supreme tent. A taller, thicker mattress would be more comfortable. The elk were majestic. I loved traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway when we went on a trip. Being down next to that roaring river had to be the best sleeping pill anyone could have. I 'm very happy you had a nice time. Do it more often. You both deserve it.

    On most of my camping gear, I have replaced the tie out lines with reflective neon paracord. The neon for seeing it in the daylight and the reflective really shows up in the flashlight on those night trips to the bathroom. It is an inexpensive upgrade for sure.

    @Dontwlookatthis Před 2 lety

    Isn't it hard to believe that the road up to New Found Gap and back down to Cherokee, used to be a railroad track? Around New Found Gap there was such a sharp turn that they laid out a Y that allowed trains to pull up, back up and go around. They weren't passenger trains but logging trains. Horace Kephart took a ride up there from the North Carolina side with a friend named Charlie Conners and the hiked to what is now know as Charlie's Bunion. That place even looks like a bunion sticking out from the mountain side but the reason it is named that is because when the two of them got to that point and ate lunch, Charlie had to take off his boot because his bunion was hurting. And it was appropriate for Horace Kephart to name the spot because it is on Mt. Kephart, named after Horace. He also wrote and illustrated the first Boy Scout handbook, Camping and Woodcraft. If Horace interests you and you want to know more about the man who was an enigma, read "Back of Beyond A Horace Kephart Biography by George Ellison and Janet McCue.

    That’s a nice big tent, and looks like it’s well made. But, it wouldn’t work for where I live. We have large rock areas and sand, so you either can’t put in a stake in or the stake won’t hold (even sand stakes don’t work here). And, we normally have winds between 30 and 50 mph, but in the spring we can get 60 to 80 mph winds. Not to mention the tumble weeds. So, we have to use free standing tents that are fairly low to the ground and we put a cooler or other heavy items inside to keep the wind from relocating the tent.
