Today we had Ashley visit us. She chose the G Mixolydian scale instead of G major for her chakra set of perfect pitch crystal singing bowls. (F instead of F#) Once we had settled on the notes, and sizes of her singing bowls, I sat down with her to show her how she could use the bowls in a variety of ways. She had many interesting questions that I was able to answer, in order to help her become a better sound practitioner. That was very informative, & I'm glad your student asked about incorporating the Tibetan bowls in. I wrapped the wooden part of my mallets in a lightweight suede, so isn't as noticeable if it hits the bowl.

Beautiful and very informative! What is the name of the soft “tapping” stick you use? I only have the suede and ball mallet and I just LOVE the softer tap of the one you are using in this video.
So happy to hear you found the video helpful. The soft mallet is something we make and sell. We call them bunny tail mallets, because they look like bunny tails and are so soft. You also might like to try the silicone wands. They are so much quieter than the suede wands. Will this work the same way, with metlica bowls please?
Metal bowls sing and sound differently because they have many over tones. That being said you could use some of the information from this video and apply it to the metal bowls.
What if I have the 7 bowls in the 4 range (G4, C4, D4, E4, F4, B4, A4)? I feel like my scale doesn't have closure at the top and I am not sure what I need.

Before you purchase, let's make sure your bowls are perfect pitch or that we know the tuning. If you don't know how to do this, you can send me a 10 second video of each bowl and I can check the tuning of your bowls for you. Text the 7 videos to 905-941-4695. We want your C5 to be in tune with the other bowls.

Could you please tell us whats the inches of the notes you show in your video
I don't now the exact sizes, but on our website we only sell sizes that play nicely. For example, other retailers sell a 10" A4 but we don't because the wall is too thick and it can be very sluggish. So you really can't go wrong with any of the sizes that we have listed. We offer a few sizes for each note so that people can create sets that stack into 2 or 3 bags. You need 2" between bowls, such as 14" G, 12" C.

@@camilomartinezgrez1263 Each note and size has it's own unique optimal size. I only sell sizes that play nice. I do not carry things like 10" A4 with is very sluggish. So if you check my site, you can feel comfortable that no matter what size you get, it will play nice.

I'm not a musical person, what are the 3 & 4s?
Hi Carol, don’t worry about not being a musician. Most of my clients are not and that’s why I like to offer this free education. When I’m talking about 3rds and 4ths I’m talking about the relationships of two notes being played together at the same time or one after the other. The music scale repeats the following letters ABCDEFGABCDEFG. G3 and B3 create the interval of a third because they are lined up G3 A3 B3. The interval of a third creates a very soothing harmonious tone.
G3 to C4 creates a perfect fourth which has a very grounding sensation. It’s a 4th because we have G3, A3, B3, C4, so the G and C create an interval of a 4th. Because you like most of my class are not musicians, I really encourage you to not worry about the intervals and really pick sounds that you love, sounds that resonate with you. I have the strong theory background and I’m more than happy to help you for free with a telephone call to find sounds that work just right. @@yourclearpath Intervals are relationships between two different notes. The interval between C4 and G4 is 4 , C, D, E, F, . Note with an interval or a 4th are very grounding and soothing.

Sorry for the late reply, I just noticed you left this comment. The basic 7 is just a marketing ploy to package singing bowls in easy to choose sets, made up in the 1970's. There are 23 notes to choose from, not just 7 notes. Notes do not correlate with chakras. If they did, all elementary school children, their music teachers and anyone listening to them play would be chakra aligned since those are the notes they always play.
