    The only way to experience the ride is open it up. Seen so many videos where they only use 3 or 4 gears and screaming the nuts off of the bike, use all the gears. Using all the gears will save fuel.

      @PastorMattMoto  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Using all the gears definitely helps with fuel mileage! But if you want that top end power blast (well more so on inline 4 bikes) you gotta keep the revs up a bit, to get that power. Depends on what kind of riding you'd like to do at the moment :).

      @@PastorMattMoto Yes that's right about bikes. Different bikes have different power bands. My bike has low rev band, as it goes through the revs in the gears you feel the power band kick in. I've never ridden mine to full speed, I ride for the conditions not the intimate top speed.

    I get tail gated coming over the blind rises. Thanks for the reminder. Good video.

      Yeah I need to remember to tap my rear brake to let drivers behind know I'm slowing down a bit as well, always good to be safe over steep blind rises, or corners!

    My 2013 SP3 got new bars that have grip a little higher and a little more swept back. I'm 5'10" also. The 7/8" bars were $30 and needed cheap Wmart mount adapters. Now I can sit in a neutral position with perfect bend in my elbows. I got my 2013 a yr ago.

      @daves6851 Před rokem +1

      P.S. No cable changes were needed with bars. I see a short list of esthetic mods in the vid starting with the round headlights replacing stock angular ones. Looks good.

      Thanks for the tip! A more neutral seating position would be great, something more along the lines of Yamaha's Mt series you know. Do you know how much rise you have on your bars?

    • @daves6851
      @daves6851 Před rokem

      Estimate almost 2 inch rise and almost 2 inch swept back from stock bars.

      The other goody is an aftermarket centerstand I installed. The clearance is not changed if one wanted to do a track day.

      @@daves6851 that's pretty awesome! I didn't realize that a centerstand was possible on the Speed Triple! I had a center stand on the BMW 1150R, super useful 👌

    Good review and nice bike man! Which one would you take if you would have to decide between your Ducati Monster and Speed triple?

    • @PastorMattMoto
      @PastorMattMoto  Před rokem +1

      Hey Alex, thanks for the comments! I went and checked out your channel as well :). Subscribed as well!
      Hmm thats a tough one.....I would probably take the Speed Triple. I actually sold the 2013 Speedie, and have a 2019 at the moment.
      The dry clutch on the Ducati is just not as smooth, and the clutch pull is stiffer, but some guys love that character.

      @@PastorMattMoto thanks Matt. I don’t have to many videos and only one is in English yet. Yep Ducati is unique. I don’t have a problem with dry clutch. I don’t have to adjust when I switching from gsxr to monster. Just wish sometimes that this air cooled motor would have around 110-120 hp. Would be perfect for the road with its torque. Maybe I should also try some day previous gen speed triple.

    • @PastorMattMoto
      @PastorMattMoto  Před rokem +1

      @@monsteralex3098 I agree, 110 hp would be great, just a little more top end!
      I think you would really like a previous generation Street or Speed Triple as well, definitely try one out if you get a chance!!
      The Street triple is a little smaller and more nimble as well.

      I haven't tried the earlier version of the speedie yet, but I do see some good deals out there this year on them, so I might get the chance to!

    Anybody who puts less than 12-1500mi per month on a bike ain't a biker.

    • @PastorMattMoto
      @PastorMattMoto  Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah this bike definitely had really low miles for the year! The previous owner had quite the collection though, so he rotated his riding time between all the bikes I think.
