It's all about the money. Even rescue people who don't get a dime kick you out because your different. They adjust the environment so those that need to be separated are separate. You live where it's warm. I've watched single people go through hell to keep every rescue even after dog fights, etc.

Absolutely! Some kitties may be able to handle those holy paws, Weezer clearly didn't vibe. And it's obvious Weezer is okay with having other cats around.

Yup! It's far crueler to force incompatible cats to live together than it is to safely rehome one. From the sound of things, Dapper is a happy little man, and Weezer is doing MUCH better. All good!

We wanted to get a playmate for our tortie and when we did they didn't get along..our cat was I think 6 or 7 at the time and the other cat that we got was Older too.I felt bad cause alot of older cats don't ever get adopted so we pick an older one.but after 6months we had to return the cat cause they still didn't get along our first cat started pooping in the bathtub and even in our bed and that was even after we put our litter boxs in separate areas of the house so they can have their own..finally after the shelter cat peed on a recliner I was done. I don't know if it was because they were both female or what cause I've had multiple cats in my life and never did that....but a few years later we got a ginger male kitty and they get along like brother and sister

She rehomed him for safety. Thats it. Neither weezer or dapper are bad cats, they just were not compatible in a living space. She did the best for both.

You don't like gray and use it sparsely and sometimes not at all. Do your viewers have a right to criticise you for not using gray? Or for using green more than the other colors?

This. Pets don't work out, anyone who has had them knows this. It sucks, but finding them a home they can thrive in is often the best choice.
I have had to re-home and I have taken in emergency placements that needed new homes fast due to cat dynamics (my current eldest is one that never found her "permeant placement" home... trying for afford the $200 spay now 😂).
Things happen and we have to do what is right for them.

Kristi: your love for your cats shines through everywhere and everything. You did right by Wheezer and you did right by Dapper. I just adopted two girls who had been returned to the shelter and they know they have their forever home with me. You took the care to find Dapper a new home and no one can fault you. For those who do, well, bless their hearts! 😋
Dapper is super happy in his new home and the boys love him. He even preaches at his new home. Love how well that transition went. Everyone is happy, and poor Weezer couldn't do it. You had to do what is best for everyone. Glad to see little Waverly is doing great and adjusting well.
I'm thinking Dapper's a good fit for the high energy of the tiny tornadoes. I was my cat's second homing because she first went with her litter mate to a family with 3 kids. Her litter mate immediately started playing with all the kids while my future cat hid for 3 days. We were the perfect fit, especially with no children to scare her.
Just keep in mind that you made us love Dapper by "showing" his great and crazy purrsonality. But most cat folks understand that not all cats get along, and sometimes you have to make changes to help the more nervous kitteh. You go gurrrl.

Waverly looks like a great kitty! There's really a huge difference with tomcats behavior. They're usually more aggressive to the point of bullying. Their prey drive is stronger than other cats. 😊 Dapper is in a good home. I see some of Jasmine's videos and he's enjoying his life now.
Exactly! Orange cats are their own breed. Not technically but they are different and respond differently to other cats.
@@leerinbigham7565 You sure said the truth! We had a "stray", (in a rural area that people found convenient to drop them off) and she had kittens, 3 Orange males. We named our cat pack after the famous RAT pack, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. 2 were crazier than football bats, Sammy and Frank. All our cats are outdoor, indoor cats and one night a BIG lightening storm with heavy rains come up and Sammy started climbing the walls. My husband opened the door to let him see how hard it was raining and he shot out like a bullet and we never saw him again. A few weeks after that, Frank, who's marbles you could literally hear walked out into the field and didn't see him for 3 years as he strolled across the yard and went on his freedom way. Martin, now he was a gem. So loving, gentle and sweet to his older sisters. He died of cancer in his daddy's arms and I couldn't stop crying for a week. To see the love of my life and how hard he took his best friends death so hard broke my heart. They were truly best friends😞😣😢😢😢

Orange kitties are......how can I say it nicely......PSYCHO, lol. We have an orange kitty who isn't too bad. I've known some crazy kitties, and they've all been orange kitties. Now, does this mean I would never get an orange kitty? Absolutely not! We have 5 babies, and they're all unique with their personalities, but we love them all equally. Thank you for sharing your cats with us. We love it! I have two cats that I got together and they were fine for years and then one day one cat decided he hated the other one. I had to separate them. Cats can be weird and you gotta do what you gotta do.
Aside from Willow I really loved Dapper. He was so funny. Shouting “Holy Paws” while jumping on Willow’s back made me cry in laughter. Always love you, Willow😊!
I think that was what made it hard to say goodbye to Dapper. She had picked the perfect voice and attributes to his behavior. We love him, but this was the best decision for all concerned. ❤

Just a note on the all seafood diet- (unsolicited advice lol) my vet had advised me that too much seafood may lead to frequent UTIs in cats, so while poor weezy is limited to that diet, it's just something to keep an eye out for. lucky its super easy coz she has a doo doo box lol. Cant wait to meet Waverley

I can totally understand the reason you re-homed Dapper. Not all cats get along together and you can’t force them to. Sometimes times cats like Dapper need to be in a one cat home. I don’t think you owe anyone an in-depth explanation. It’s obvious you are an excellent cat servant, I mean owner. hehe 😁 It will be wonderful to get to know Waverly and her personality and quirks. 😊

We had adopted a kitten and named him Milo. He was such a dominant personality.
My vet and her husband had taken care of a cat for a military person, that cat was just like Milo, when the veteran came home, the drs husband missed the cat so much.
She asked that if we ever got to the point where our dogs could not handle him anymore please let her adopt him.
A few months later we let him go to our veterinarian's family, where he became the boss of her dogs who would follow him as they walked the perimeter of their farm and then they would come back and sleep together by the vet's husband 's chair.
I was criticized by a few however it was the best thing I could ever have done.

I love your videos and I've been watching for ages now. One of the reasons I love em is because just like a number of other animal owners who have sites, you don't mind sharing the problems of pet ownership and being a responsible pet parent. Lots of owners just show the fun or the characters they've made with their animals to become famous or successful but you've never shied away from just being you & your family is the same. The setup for the cats is extraordinary and they are always so well taken care of with so much love and affection it makes me happy to see.
I'm so glad that you decided not to give up (& yes I remember that time very well) you've worked hard to make your channels a wonderful warm place to drop in for a visit. It's visiting a friend and her family and the marvellous individual felines that share your life..... the whole house renovation was so much fun & it felt like being part of it.
We're in Australia and we have 6 ridiculous felines running our lives & I'm always fascinated by how others deal with the bumps along the way. Luckily we haven't had to use calming meds or deal with asthma but I appreciate your dedication to your babies and the fact that you'll share the solutions to the problems in such an honest & loving way.
It's great to see another baby in the family & Dapper is so happy with his home & his own family (which just happens to be yours as well) he has his own person too.

You did what was best for everyone. We tried adding a 4th cat once that we rescued and it just didnt work. But he's doing amazing in his current home and has been for almost 5yrs now. He just wasn't compatible with our 3 cats as much as we wished he would be. Waverly is adorable!❤

That is actually NOT A PROVEN FACT that Orange cats/Gingers(which, in fact, isn't even a breed) all share a single brain cell. If this were true, all cat breeds that could produce an orange cat would also share that trait. This would include many different breeds such as Maine Coon, American Shorthair, and Persian to name a few.
That one shared brain cell is actually nothing but folklore, some idea someone thought up, with ABSOLUTELY NO BASIS IN MEDICAL FACT.
It IS misinformation, that sadly too many believe, yet there is no medical proof of this widspread folklore tale, anywhere. And I've researched this statement for verification, no vet has ever confirmed this to be true, no research done anywhere to prove this fabricated fable has any validation or proof either.
Been raising cats, majority of them "Orange/Ginger" colored for over 40+ years. All cats are unique, and each one has their own temperment and personality traits.

I always say I didn't pick which cats to adopt - they picked me. And its true. I totally understand what you described. When I went to the shelter to adopt my previous cat, she was in the playroom in a bed sleeping. I walked in and she woke and jumped into my arms.

You did so great by all your kitties when you moved Dapper to live with Jasmine's family. He is happy there and now all the cats are happy. I'm so glad we still get to hear from the holy terror from time to time, his character is so adorable.

I've personally had a cat who was just completely incompatible with my existing baby; he attacked her constantly, bullied her and made her life hell. We tried for 8 months of whistle training, water squirts, slow intro and everything; it was just never going to work.
We prioritised the existing cat because she was there first and sadly we had to return this boy to the rescue we took him from because we had no other option. Saddest thing I've ever done but seeing him hurt my existing cat would have been sadder.
They all deserve to be happy and live their best life; we can do only our best at the time and that's what you did.
Don't let anyone who wasn't living that experience tell you what to do because they will never understand the situation like you did.
