Another life long Scout project in the beginning. Awesome to watch. I started back in 99 and continue to this day upgrading and modernizing. I wish diesels were as prevalent back then as they are today. I went create 350 for ease of parts nation wide. It's worked well just wish it was a diesel.

Scout life is the only way! Be prepared to be asked if you want to sell it daily, hearing everyone's story of their uncles fence climbing Scout, 30 minute gas station fill ups, and everyone saying what an awesome Bronco you have. I wouldn't have it any other way.

A early 70's Travelall long snout inside the frame power steering box bolts right up to the three hole mount with an rear facing pitman arm. You will need Ford F-150 high steer knuckles. I've done this to my 63 Model 80 ten years ago. Still going strong.

You are going about it properly ! Don't be scared to build it stronger than it needs to be ,cause you are likely going to put it through some severe abuse , because you built it ,it doesn't bither you to abuse your machinery ,thats what happens to most everyone who builds their own equipment . Give the the Ether Bandit test ! You sre diing good kid . Have fyn , always keep others saftey in mind when acting nutz with your trucks ,tractors n tiys !

Scout II axles fit right under with out modification. GM are a little wide and spring over complicating the steering geometry. But you've got a handle on that. You will need a sway bar more than likely. With Deaver military snail wrap spring under and a shackle reversal I don't have a sway bar, with the spring over its almost a must driving daily.

the gm axles are heavier duty and larger however narrower would be nicer. A sway bar is in the books however now its just getting her going again

@Ether Bandit’s Garage it is a constant thought, isn't it. Getting on the road heading for the hills. You know what, it doesn't go away, ever. Just the stories get bigger and better.

Just saw your build on your Scout, great work. Are those Chevy axles? I'm installing Chevy axles on my 67 Scout 800. I'm in Waco, I noticed the Texas flag in the background. I plan on doing the same thing to my Scout as you're doing to yours.
