I just started getting into the Trails series after seeing a lot of positive talk about it and I agree it's very impressive.
I just wish I knew you have to grind to an unreasonable amount just to be able to buy equipment. Take a breaks people, take plenty of breaks because it gets boring fast.
Edge of Eternity is in early access on Steam and supposed to release this year. It looks stellar. I'm still hoping that Granblue Fantasy is going to release this year also. Great video man!

Fire Emblem always had important characters remain in the story despite permadeath by saying that they were just critically injured.
Auron Cloud I think he meant because it’s a school it’s a bit weird, but they could do this for every character at least in the pre time skip section.
Why do you not have more subs!? This was great, well made and short but yet enough to spike interest in the titles that spoke to me. As a hardcore fan of JRPG games I'm subbing!

Super stoked for FE and Oninaki! Doesn't look like as crazy a year for JRPGs as last year was, but I'm still excited! Still mad we don't know when the next main line Tales game is coming.

I think the release is set for early/spring 2020 but it would be awesome if it comes out this year though! They said in January that they are 60-70% finished... AND YOU'RE RIGHT THE GAME LOOKS INCREDIBLE!

I have never played a Digimon game and I've started rewatching the anime but the music of the Digimon survive trailer made me really want it...
And also I don't play many strategy games and this looks great.
Also I've only played the demo of Alliance Alive but I loved it.

I really wanna see what grandia would look like in HD. Are they going to redo the sprites? Grandia 2 already had an HD release on PC so this is probably just a port.
I missed the announcement of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. That's the JRPG I'm looking forward to the most even though it's quite doubtful it'll get a western release in 2019.
Cold Steel 3 is the best JRPG coming out this year
Dunno, if they release P5R / P5S this year, they’ll make the top of the list for sure. Persona 5 is such a great game, I hope P5S is for Switch and P5R for PS4 and PC so more people can enjoy it.
There are a lot of JRPGs in your list that interest me but i've decided for this year to finally concentrate on my backlog. The only possible exception will be Code Vein. I'm crossing my fingers that it will turn out great when it comes out.
The only game coming this year I want is Ys 9
Edit: correction, I should say the only game I'm hyped for.
Guess Indivisible will play similar to Valkyrie Profile 2, so I'm interested.

Thank you for including Rune Factory 4 Special. It was one of my favorite 3ds games and I don't think it got enough recognition on the 3ds. I hope when it comes to Switch, people will see how great it is and that will contribute to the success of Rune Factory 5.
Probably didn't get that much recognition because,at least in my country (and probably the rest of europe) it was digital only and only had english as a language option, which turned away many people. For me RF4 is the game I enjoyed playing the most on 3DS

Though there's no english release yet, Yokai Watch 4 is coming in the switch this June in Japan.

An Alliance Alive is definitely most anticipated. Written by the creator of Suikoden!
Having beating it on the 3DS already, I can tell you it's a fantastic game...assuming you're a fan of games like Romancing SaGa, etc.
Dq11 is one of the best jrpgs ever. Don't miss it and don't stop at the credits. Act 3 is not just an epilogue..it's a huge act and that true ending...if you're a series fan... O. M. G.

The game ended at the part before the time travel thing for me. That is the true timeline IMO so i stopped playing it after that.
Excited for FE and DQ 11 might try some of the other ones mentioned depending on price and time
I don't know it should be included in this list for a couple of reasons but I would suggest checking out Edge of Eternity.
Forgot Shin Megami Tensei V for the switch. It was already announce for a western release. Suppose to be this year, but Atlus has been silent since the trailor and localization announcement.

The most anticipated JRPG I’m looking forward to coming out this year on the PS4 is Lost Soul Aside. Official date unknown as of now except that it’s coming out sometime this year (2019). Combat system inspired by FFXV and made by one man alone. It looks breathtaking.
Indivisible will be this years Celeste. Indie darling game.

Trails of Cold Steel I, II, and III... and possibly IV? And I don't know if it counts, but Final Fantasy X/X-2 and XII should be out this month for the Switch.
I wonder how such old games loke Grandia 1 and 2 have not changed at all aside of sharper edges on the characters and the environment. I never had the first game but I was captivated by Grandia 2 and played it at least almost ten times. xD
I'm lowkey more hyped for Cold Steel 3 then even Cyberpunk 2077.
If they could deliver a remake of Grandia for PS4 I'd be super pumped!
What do you consider the Legends of Heroes series, we've got 1 & 2 and 3 arrives in November. So just wondering if you left them off for a reason or not.

First of all Zanki Zero: Last Beginning. Well, it's already coming out next week and it's a Dungeon Crawler, but I guess that would count as JRPG.
Then Crystar, which may look pretty bland gameplay wise, but the concept seems interesting enough and I read it's been inspired by Drakengard so I pretty much NEED to check it out if nothing else.
And most importantly, Trails of Cold Steel 3. This is the only game which I'm actually really confused about how you could have missed it. Really looking forward to finally see my boy Rean in a little better graphics :P
But overall great video, even if I already knew of all the titles in it, I may need to look at some of these titles again ^-^

Mmmm, not a lot for me this year overall. I am making my way through the Trails series though. Currently on game 2 out of 8 so I got plenty to keep me entertained

Hmm there's an Octopath Traveller mobile game and Octopath Traveller for PC coming out this year. May have been revealed after this video though.
Also, I'm pretty sure Bravely Default will be getting some sort of Switch content this year, as it has been heavily hinted at.
As much as you missed my favorite Trails of Cold Steel III, this was a really good list~ didn't know 'bout some of these games coming this year.... my poor wallet tho.
I do hope theyre gonna release code vein this year. It was ''ready'' to lauch after all. they had collector edition and all... Im glad they're reworking it so it lives up to the hype and i cant wait to play it, but if they delay it even further i dont think itll be good for the game reputation and people might miss out on it completely.

oh there BETTER not be some remaster of persona 5. I literally just bought the game yesterday.
I mean, you'll be playing a really good game regardless. If they do have Persona 5R be a remaster, it'll probably just be some extra stuff like the new character, maybe an extra dungeon and some enemies, but nothing huge.
It was leaked about 2 weeks ago. It'll be announced probably at direct today or in atlus presentation near end of month

Warsong was amazing as a kid. They've made a mobile remake, but kinda fell flat for me. Really hope for a real remastering.

Wow only recall seeing one game coming to xb1. Granted I'm not a big fan of Jrpgs as I prefer western RPGs, but I'd like to have options.
