Dear Jon. A lot of people I know say that are under tremendous attacks of the devil. Everyone fails but thanks to be God there is confession. Just keep the fight, and get up after you fail. At some point you will see difference because God works in a mysterious way to strengthen you without taking your freedom. Just make sure you pray, you give you time and heart to God. I have the Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ as told by Anne Carherine Emmerich. I have had this book for about 20 years. I had every intention of reading it but other Catholic books would get in the way. I purchase and read so many Catholic books that it is astonishing to me how this book got lost in the shuffle. When I came upon this website, and the announcer said they were going to read the chapter on " The Descent of Jesus into Hell", I paused this program and ran and got my book. As I read along, I was astonished at Blessed Anne's account of Hell in in its entirety. The description of Hell always made me always wanting to have Sanctifying Grace in my soul. Her detailed account of all the sections of Hell and Heaven made me finally want to read the whole book. I read the whole book and developed a whole new understanding of Christ descending into Hell. AMAZING!!! Our Lord went through so much for us that it makes me tremble to think of not going to Heaven. Read Anne Catherine Emmerich account of our Lord's Passion and Death and you will gain a renewed appreciation and thankfulness for Our Lord's Church He created and paid for it with his flesh and blood.
He descended into hell and on the third day he rose again from the dead, he ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the father the Almighty from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead and His Kingdom will have NOOOO end!

Blessed Catherine Emmerich was a very pure woman who truly saw, mysticaly not only this but the crucifixion, torture before the crucifixion, resurrection of Jesus Christ and more....She also saw many events of the future, most are coming true so she is taken more and more seriously now....

Psalm 24 gives a prophetic account of Christ's visit into Hell after the crucification. 1st. THE PSALM tells you who owns the earth, 2. It Tells you how the earth was founded, it even mentions the flood of Noah. 3. Then it tells you WHO shall be taken out of the abode of the dead, (Hell) 4. It states the newly awakened dead, having a conversation with the rulers of the Underworld, To open up the doors. 5 the rulers of the underworld shout back. 6. Who is this King of Glory. 7. The Newly Awakened dead, shout back, The Lord Mighty in Battle, The LORD OF HOSTS. HE IS THE KING OF GLORY.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. Your body will be raised on the last day. The word saint basically means one already in heaven. Or in purgatory for that matter. The soul lives forever and does not sleep. Jesus knew you before you where in you Mother’s womb. If you are offended by the word mother and prefer birthing person, you’ve got a great awakening coming and we pray for your lost soul.

What kind of salvation leaves a part of mankind behind to live in sin and cursing God forever? How is this a victory over sin and death when Christ came to defeat both of them? Is she saying that sin and death will continue forever without end?
Perhaps Blessed Anne didn't understand fully what she was beholding in her vision?
Hell is a doctrine of the faith. The thing is that God is both merciful and just. He respects our free will. He will not force us to love Him, it is our choice to serve Him or not. If we reject His mercy by refusing to ask for it and by refusing our will over God’s will then we wouldn’t be happy spending eternity in heaven with Someone that we didn’t want to. On top of this, there is the matter of justice.
Mercy and Justice are two sides of the same coin. Both mercy and justice glorify God. The condemnation of the damned glorifies God because everyone will see how just the judgement was. The saved glorify God in being a part of showing how merciful God is. None of us deserves eternal life in paradise but through God’s mercy we may be blessed in seeing Him face to face for eternity.
Fr. Ripperger explains how mercy and justice are identical in God:
“God's mercy and His justice, in God are identical. They are the same thing. Most people don't realize this. For us, we have to think of them differently justice is, you get punished; mercy and they don't get punished. Well, it's not exactly that way. Why? Well, first of all, every attribute in God is one because God is absolutely simple. That's what the Catholic Church teaches us. But to look at this a little bit more theologically , so we have a better grasp of it, when God shows mercy to us, because we're sorry, He recognizes because of our sorrow, it would be better for us, for Him to give us the spiritual gifts to restore us to the order of grace, then to just let us hang. Because ultimately, we have to remember God made us for His glory. So when we fall into sin, He still wants us there for His glory. And now He’s going to get glory out of you whether you like it or not. He's either going to get it out of you because you manifest His glory, because you're in the state of grace, and you attain a certain sanctified perfection, which is an excellence in grace and the adornment of the soul with all of the virtues. That’s the definition of sanctifying grace. You can give Him glory that way, or you’re going to give glory to Him by people being able to look and see how just He is in damning you. And that's just how it works.” (Fr. Ripperger)

@@VirgoPotens1 God gave us the standard of justice. Lex talionis. That is, the punishment fits the offense. There is no offense that is worthy of an unending eternity in torments.
When the infinite God is wronged , infinite punishment is logical. This makes the sacrifice of Jesus even more merciful and loving.

In the minute 3:30 I hear that body of Lord was still on the cross on Saturday. This is not true at all. Please read Matthew 27,57....61. The body of Jesus was placed in the grave before sabath on Friday. They did it in rush because wanted to do so before sabath which is Saturday.

The nicene creed tells us christ descended into hell
Limbo is part of hell where there is natural happiness and no suffering. Heaven is the place of supernatural happiness. Hell of the dammed is devoid of all good and a place of suffering
The Nicene Creed is the belief system of the Institution called the Catholic Church. It is not inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. What does the Written Word of God which is inspired, say about Christ going to Hell after He died on the Cross, but before He was resurrected on Easter Sunday Morning? Does the Written Word of God say Jesus descended into Hell?
The Sacred Deposit of Faith contains both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. The Nicene Creed is true teaching.

I’m aware of what you’re saying. Personally, I look at the meditations of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich and all mystics (Fatima is different because it was accompanied by the greatest public miracle since biblical times) this way... they do not add to Public Revelation which ceased with the death of the last Apostle but they can be of great spiritual benefit. I simply view them as pius meditations made by holy individuals while recognizing that the visions and or locutions may very well come directly from God. I simply stick to Church approved apparitions and mystics. The other thing that I look for is sound theology. If there seems to be error then I ignore the error and stick with the tradition of the Church.

Jesus did not go to hell to endure more punishment. His work on the cross was sufficient - “It is finished”
Nor did He go to hell to save anyone.
Once someone dies their fate is sealed. Their is no second chance after death.

God’s standard of perfection/righteousness is His Law. We fall short and broke His Law. We are guilty before a Holy and Righteous God. Punishment for breaking His law is eternity in hell. That is our wages…physical and spiritual death. God cannot live in the presence of sin and because He is just, sin must not be overlooked, but punished.
God’s requires perfection. To satisfy God’s demand, Jesus did what we failed to do and He kept God’s Law perfectly in every way. Jesus fulfilled the Law to satisfy the righteous demand of God! As a result He was considered righteous. That allowed Him to be the perfect blameless sacrifice for your/my sin. As the perfect sacrifice, Jesus took the wrath of God that you and I deserve for our sin upon Himself! Then died and rose again to defeat death once and for all!
We broke God’s Law and Jesus paid our fine! We are legally free because Jesus paid your debt!
“It is finished”
There is no more work to be done! Jesus fulfilled the Law and and then satisfied God’s wrath taking it upon Himself for you!
The very moment you repent and trust in Christ alone for salvation you will be saved and are born again! You can then know you have eternal life.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit then resides in that new born again believer and works follow as the Holy Spirit produces works in the born again believer! You become a new creature in Christ with new God given desires! The old has passed and the new has come!
Have you truly put all your trust in Christ for salvation? It is only then that you can be saved. It is His righteousness that is imputed only in to those who are trusting in Him!
Not trusting in works, not trusting in your own goodness, not trusting in signs and wonders, not dreams and visions, not miracles and gifts, not speaking in tongues, not casting out demons!

Christ in hell sounds demonic, truth does not belong in hell...
If he died for all of mankinds sins then there should be no hell
Free will is a factor. Christ died for all of our sins but we must repent and ask to receive His mercy. God does not force people to love Him or to spend eternity with Him. The justice of God and the mercy of God are like two sides of the same coin, so to speak. Mercy and justice are not separate from one another and they are not at odds with each other. Each person chooses to receive His mercy or His justice.

Christ did not descend to hell when he died. He was dead in the tomb for three days. The apostles creed says he did. That is not biblical and is conjecture based on a twisting of scripture.
The Apostle’s Creed is authoritative, whereas a personal interpretation of an individual is not.
