Man it's been a while. Jfac was a staple in my younger years discovering new music. My taste has vastly evolved (black metal, old school death metal, etc) but holy fuck, this album absolutely wrecks.
One of the strongest starts to an album, ever.
"Blasphemy" leading into "the divine falsehood" is my favorite part of this album.

haven't listened to job for a cowboy in a while. I remember my friend giving me this album years back and I never listened to it till now. Loving those little fast vocals he throws in there. their newer albums are also bad ass! so much progress has been made with this band.

Yeah I don't care what anybody has to say about this album cus it just straight up rules. I still remember buying it the day it came out at Best Buy in 2007 (May 15th?). Yes it's their first attempt at "death metal" as opposed to "death core" or whatever the fuck people nowadays wanna pigeonhole bands into a certain category and whatnot. I could care less about all that shit. If it sounds cool then that's all that matters. Keep things simple people. Ya'll have yourself a nice day =)

Every album of theirs has songs that are absolute gems, but this album is perfect as a whole. Lyrically its like the Anti-Christ Bible, great metaphors and inversions.

This is ALMOST! pure death metal!... the drums here open the gates to a new form of playing it. Very difficult doble bass and a extreme blast beat; not a brutal one, but just for death metal. The riffs are MOST of them death metal.. and sometimes kind of deathcore.. the vocals are death metal and nothing else. This is for me one of the best albums of the genere and I don´t know a band that has done a similar mixture like this one. I saw them in Chile some years ago in the ruination tour, AWESOME. But, the people there were almost deathcore children jaja! I think jfac is RUINATION and GENESIS.. the other stuff is valid but mor melodic and deathcore kind of metal. HAIL GENESIS!!!!! (the lyrics also are very religious taken from the apocalipsis and mixed with society shit... VERY NICE MIND!!!)

The era, the lyrics, the voice, the riffs, the chords... it all screams deathcore or even metalcore, genres that evolved from hardcore (punk), not even metal. This is closer to emo music than metal. Lyrics are about psychological problems of the every day, depression, stress, There's all kinds of extreme music out there and they're not all called metal.
Actual Death Metal is not agressive nor headbanging music, it's supposed to reflect death, it SOUNDS dead. It talks about plagues, disease, extinction, rotten tissues, hell, post-apocalypsis. Bands like Possessed, Death (band), Obituary, Benediction, Cancer, Carcass, and more.
