On June 4th, American Airlines inaugurated brand new service between New York JFK and Doha, Qatar. This is the first Gulf route in history for the airline and it makes them the only U.S. carrier currently serving the Gulf region. This is truly an exciting route for American and it comes soon after they resumed service to Delhi, India from JFK a few months ago as well. In this video, I try to explain why American even started this route in the first place. Is it to boost their connectivity with partner Qatar Airways? Or is there another reason?

After Delta abandoned the ATL to DXB route, Emirates should’ve taken over that route. Don’t know why they wouldn’t because both Qatar and Turkish are doing well with their routes out of ATL.
