I was mostly the mobile jetski with camera but i hit the double up wake now and then. Crash happened when the ski before me lost its cover and started sinking, boat turned around to help and forgot to look for oncoming traffic. Im ok but the top hull of the TS is trashed.

There is a reason there is a law saying you have to keep a few hundred feet away from boats while riding jet skis...

Jet ski at fault. Passed boat on wrong side. Boat was altering course trying to correct skiers mistake.
Boats were purposely making a double up for the skis. Boat driver needs to check his course before he goes.
That being said, this video is exactly why the coast guard prohibits this type of activity (jumping completely out of the water within 200 feet of another vessel while crossing their wake). It isn't inherently unsafe (I do it all the time off the second wake), but the human element leads to needless accidents and death, and on top of that mechanical failure happens all the time. 20 year old steering cables break without any warning (been there, done that), and cheap jet ski shops forget to use non-corroding lock nuts on a steering nozzle all the time. Just a minor deviation of either vessel on a close pass can lead to collision. That is why it isn't very fun to see rickters and rockered superjets pass super close to a ski boat, even if they are doing flips. Please leave more margin for error next time, even if it isn't as fun. Glad to see your quick reactions saved you from going under the boat. Sorry about the ski.
@cherry bomb The boat the ski collided with was, in mutual effort with the other boat, purposefully creating an enhanced wake for the jet skis to jump. I can make the inference that everyone in the video (all boats and jet skis) knew each other even if I was not there, know none of the people involved, and have never talked to anyone who was there. My supporting evidence is that you can hear one of the passengers in the boat the uploader collided with asking the jet skiier if he is alright by name. This means the intention of the boat to continue heading in a straight path is pretty much declared, and it was pre-agreed upon by all parties that the jet skis could pass between the boats to jump their enhanced wake. This is technically prohibited activity (the reasoning made obvious by how the video turned out), but almost everyone I have ever known with two boats and a few jet skis available does this kind of thing because it is fun. The boat operator shouldn't do giant sweeping turns without knowing the intention or path of all vessels in the area, even if they are technically the stand-on vessel in this instance (in actuality it is the other boat, then their boat, then the ski in priority of right of way if none of the parties knew each other) but it was pre-determined that the boats would not alter course and that they would allow the skis to jump their wake (as the uploader stated, the boat only deviated for an emergency purpose to help their sinking friend). Also notice how one of the boats comes off plane instead of power turning like the boat that mutually collided with the uploader's ski. Jet skis are more maneuverable than boats, but that doesn't mean their operators are clairvoyant. I have been on both sides of the pwc vs boat argument and I can say definitively that the fault in this instance was mutual. Everyone involved should have learned a lesson in situation awareness from this incident. The boater needs to not alter course until surveying the waterway and the pwc operator needs to leave more room for emergency maneuvers and mechanical failure.
Thanks to people like this states have come down hard on personal watercraft operators. Proof that common sense is hard to come by these days.

My dumb ass was on the TN river, barge coming up river so I was like awesome, I'll jump that, I lined up perfect, hit the first of the wake cleared two of the swells and at this point I didn't think it out, landed the first smooth just like if you were jumping doubles on a bmx, but the next wave I wasn't ready for and people say I was in the air a good 5 seconds. Huge wakes, landed short went through the water let go of my wave runner and decided to never do that again. Glad you're alright man! Good evasive maneuver

I always wondered why jetskiers are viewed so negatively by people with larger watercraft....now I know.
Growing up on a lake what I see here a group of full-on super shithead jetskiiers and 2 shithead stern-drive boaters (almost as big of shitheads as the shithead jetskiiers) trying to create a running double-up/ramp for them to hit. That's why they're running parallel. As the left wake from right boat touches the right wake on the left boat it makes a rooster-tail lookin' thing that can sometimes create a ramp. So basically they're all "in on it". Basically I see at least 6 accidents waiting to happen here. Wearing a helmet on a jet ski is a dead giveaway for "I am going to ruin your day, somehow. I just haven't decided how yet but I am working on it."

Yep, the level of retardation in the comments here is breathtaking. I actually know everyone in this video personally. What they're doing we call a "double up" or "v-wake". The 2 big boats plow side by side and the skis take turns hitting the V formed behind them. The energy in the wave is huge, and allows for huge air. It's organized and planned, but the guy driving the boat that hit Tony got distracted by another jet skier yelling as his ski was sinking, and then he broke the cardinal rule by driving INTO the area between the boats. Number one rule for the boat drivers = NEVER turn towards the other boat. But he did, and Tony won because he made a few grand off this video and already has many jet skis. The one he trashed in this vid is a POS that's only worth a few hundred bucks.

Nope, Jet ski at fault. He broke the law passing a boat on wrong side. You always pass head on by going right so that the left side of the boat faces each other as passing. That's the law

approaching from the right. If a boat is approaching from the left, they

To the idiots say that it was his fault. He was trying to go in between the boats probably to pick up whoever flew off of the the tube. There was no way he could have cleared both boats so he went in between. Then the boat on the right turned. So technically both drivers are at fault
