  • This time I take a rather punishing walk around the pretty seaside town of Brixham in Devon. I walk up all the steep steps & slopes showing the lovely old houses & cottages.
i then make my way to nearby Elberry Cove taking in Fishcoombe Cove & Sherston Cove on the way. Later that day i popped into the local Wetherspoons for a meal with my wife & just by coincidence we bumped into two lovely CZcamsrs that we follow. Debs & Phil from "Debs Excellent Adventures" . Absolutely lovely people who we loved meeting. Here is a link to Debbie's amazing channel / @debsmostexcellentadve...

Just subbed to Martins channel Debs. I was knackered out just watching him climbing up all those stairs. I didn't realise that you live just along the road from me, so Brixham I recognised well in his video but not the top of the stairs part. Very fit man to be able to do all that.

Thanks alot Debs. To be honest I was a bit disappointed with the film as I only took my Gopro. I usually take my Sony ZV1 as well to get some close up shots. Also because of the rain I didn't get to explore Elberry Cove as much as I would of liked. It was a lovely walk & next time I will start at Broadsands to get a different perspective of the area. Itv was a surprise that the building was a bath house. I just thought it was a mine or something. I was tired from all those steps as I did the same walk the day before at Dartmouth. It was a real pleasure to have met you & Phil. You are both lovely people & if we were staying longer then we would of definitely met up again for a drink & good old chinwag. Just going yo watch your latest vid now. Take care guys. 🙂

@@mmwaashumslowww7167 Thanks a lot & welcome to the channel. I was knackered after all those steps & then walking to Elberry Cove. Plus the day before we had parked at the top of Kingswear & walked down to the ferry then walked up loads of steps in Dartmouth. Phew. I need a rest now. Lol 😄

Ah, this was so interesting Martin!
I have just published a Brixham video this morning, and although I worked in the town for four years, and revisited it again recently, there is much in your video that I have never seen before.
This was an excellent video, capturing much of the town and of the beautiful Elbury Cove, one of my favourite places.
Good that you caught up with Debs and Phil too.
    Wonderful video!
    Thanks for sharing.
    Take care,
    Paul

Thanks mate. We love the Brixham area. Steps an all. Debs & Phil are amazing. I knew they lived there & we kept a look out for them. By sheer luck they sat next to us in the Wetherspoons & I just looked across & said "Hi Debs". They recognised us straight away & we spent ages chatting. Take care mate. 😊😊

The town was so quaint and colourful and the views were amazing. Loved the photos of Brixham at night too. What a great surprise to have met up with Debs and Phil at the pub! I thought it was London at first 😆this one id much better, so scenic and looked a brilliant place to visit. I love the little narrow streets and shops and the harbour looked amazing, as did the pirate shop and Golden Hind, funny I did go on the same shop in London a few years back 🧐. This steps much keep you fit and I would not mind one of those luxury apartments myself to be fair. To be honest, not that keen on the beach, too rocky for me but I could live with it in a place like that and how to to bump in the the lovely Debs and Phil, what a treat and great way to end the day! Wow what a stunning set of photos that Brixham at Nigh series was!! Cheers Alan

The night pics at the end I took about 5 years ago when I was much more into still photography. The steps were many as you saw but I was determined to explore as many as I could . Very tired after though. Lol

If you had carried on a little further up those stairs at the start of walk you would have come to a house with a little black door going into what you would believe was a cellar entrance right onto road which looks insignificant and you would probably miss completely. But if you enter(unfortunately now closed to public) you would go down into some massive caverns which lead all the way to Kent’s caverns on the other side of Torquay. That slope is a killer out of fishCombe cove and those steps at Churston cove😂

Oooh. That sounds interesting. Thanks for that info. Actually we will be back down that way in April for a few days. Will have a look at this. Yeah the walk to Elberry Cove was harder than i thought. It probably didnt help that id already walked around half of Brixham first. Lol 🙂🙂

@@MartinPopeFilmmaker if you had carried on another five minutes around the coast from Elberry you would have come to broadsands and you could have had a nice drink at the cafe before the trek back or better still next time carry on past broadsands onto the caravan park called the waterside have a pint then jump straight on bus number 12 back to Brixham or if more adventurous go onto Goodrington into Paignton and catch the ferry back to Brixham.

Why do you feel the need to go up any steps you see

    • @MartinPopeFilmmaker
      @MartinPopeFilmmaker  Před rokem

🤣🤣 It's because everytime we go to Brixham we always walk around by the harbour & see the shops & I've noticed all these steps & steep slopes & said to myself " I'm gonna walk up all them one day" & so I did. It was very hard work though but very enjoyable & it was nice to see another side of Brixham that I'd never seen before. Thanks for watching. 🙂
