In my 61 years, I have been a huge music fan and listened to a lot of music and watched how a lot of artists live their lives. I've NEVER seen anything close to the synergy between BTS and ARMY. Absolutely extraordinary.
Same here and I'm in my 60's too. I can never hold back tears when I see that 2018 MAMA award acceptance. If they had disbanded, I would never have found them earlier this year. :(

I’m 36 and know I have lived way less life but I totally agree. I get sad that it’s so hard to describe to people bc of their preconceived notions of who bts is and just can’t understand how authentic the respect, love and support is bc I can’t think of a precedent that fits the relationship at all. It’s so special… this group is once in a lifetime for me… I’m blown away everyday by the incredible people they are to each other and how authentic they have always been and their music always been. They’ve grown and evolved personally and musically but those core characteristics are still there .. the boys and their bond to each other is exactly the same if you watch old clips… it’s just a testament to how real they are and have always been. I’m so thankful they found their way to me 💜

I too am 61 and was about to type the same thing. I've never felt so much love for any performer or famous person. I absolutely fell in love with these 7 guys for who they are, in their most candid moments.and I found them at a point in my life that I needed the hope and belief in mankind restored to my soul that good exists in this world. Their respectfulness, kindness, love to everyone around them impressed me so much ! It is so beautiful who they are.
You said "they are so real", and that's the point. They are not only crazy talented artists, amazing performers, meaningfull song writers, they are beautiful human being. They are real, indeed. Humble, honnest, clumsy, emotionnal, funny. Hardworker, devoted to their craft with a great ethic, sens of responsability, socially engaged, and generous. They have learned to give back, and they give us so much ! This is why, at 57 years old, I became an a fan for the first time of my life, and an Army. I came for the music and I stay for the boys. What they are, what they do, and what Army does in their name give me hope again in humanity. BTS is a part of each Army life and heart, and Army is a part of BTS. What a beautiful bond ! They are so precious .
The bond between bangtan and army is something else...I stand many artists before but never had or felt the bond I had with bangtan! They are like home to me😍

The relationship that BTS and ARMY have is what sets them apart from other artists.
They have ARMY as a priority, they have made that clear.
On all occasions when they finish any activity, be it a concert, news, event or collaboration, they immediately connect in a Live, to thank or tell us something.
We are the 8th member of the group.
That is why we are special to them and they to us.
It is love, loyalty, respect and admiration in both directions.

23:50 korean words consist of blocks (each block must have minimum 1 vowel and 1 consonant, maximum of 1 vowel and 3 consonants). you cannot just write ㅏ미, so if the word phonetically starts with a vowel, you add a silent ㅇ before this vowel. that's why it is 아미 instead of ㅏ미 or for example 우유 (u-yu; milk) instead of just ㅜㅠ. i'm not sure if I explained it well :']
also, if the syllable ends with ㅇ it has a 'ng' sound. ㅇ is silent only if it's placed at the beginning of the syllable

i've been in another fandom before that used to be called "the biggest fandom" before bts's. But ive never felt such connection, synergy, love as strong as BTS & ARMY! its a whole new feelings and emotions with these guys! They bring a new meaning in artists-fandom relationship! and however i felt about them, they somehow also opened up how they felt the same about ARMY and those things they said just validates my feeling even more. I love these guys so much, i owe them a lot when it comes to my happiness. But its unlike a specific love for a friend, or a lover, or a family. Its like all of that at once! hard to describe but its still love
I've never experinced anything like the connection betwee us army and BTS. IT is sooo precious. They dedicated alot of songs to Army but their song ( we are bullet proof: eternal) is so special. Hope you have a chance to listen to it.💜 thank you for reacting to BTS only. When I became an army I felt like I don't need to know or listen to any other group, with respect to all of them.

The *"ㅏ"* is an A, the *"ㅁ"* is an M, and the "I" is an i.
So they pronounce Army as *"Amy"* (min. 30:15).

I was thinking exactly the same thing. All of them are now just part of my daily life. Not hearing their voices or watching their videos for a day or two just won´t work. They making my day even better💜

2018, that day, that speech..I got puffy eyes & had a headache from all that crying.My kids got worried thinking something had happened.(They still make fun of me)Still tear up if i even see a clip of it.

I've also been learning Korean for quite awhile now, and I'd like to help a bit regarding the "ㅇ".
So basically, for the vocal letters, they can't stand alone;ㅏㅑ ㅣ ㅜㅠ ㅔㅖ ㅗㅛ ㅐㅒ.
We have to add "ㅇ" before those letters if they're the first letter of a word.
You were right that "ㅏ" is "A", "ㅁ" is "M", "ㅣ" is "I"
So if we want to make "ARMY" in Korean, it's technically "ㅏ미".
But since "A" is the first letter, we have to add "ㅇ", so it becomes 아. As for the "I", it's also a vocal letter, but since it's not the first letter of the word and we have "M" before the "I", we don't have to add "ㅇ", just write the "M + I" together -> 미
ARMY = 아(A) - 미(MI). 아미💜

That's a really good point you made around 10:20! I never thought about it too deeply, but having ARMY be a solid and unwavering presence really must have helped so much. And even when natural, human doubts crept in they always found us right there (right behind them when they asked, lol🧈). That had to be such a relief. I'm glad we could do that for them, like they did for us.

I've never been to a concert. They, BTS, are the only one that I really want to go to. I love them for who they are and what they stand for. It was years ago as they were getting more popular, my daughter showed me a kpop group. It was their war of hormone mv. Slowly over these last 3yrs I've been watching all sorts of cultural dramas etc and then along came BTS again. I remembered her showing me that very mv, I am so grateful. Even my daughter is back into them again and agrees how fab they are.
