ROGER BROWNE told me that this movie made SO MUCH money, that the producers didn't know what to do with it all.
THE TEN GLADIATORS along with THE INVINCIBLE GLADIATOR [ 1961],are two of the best gladiator movies of that era. U mean that a lot of Italian "gladiator" movies that have gladiator in the title, don't have many ARENA FIGHTING scenes in them. Though they may have fighting with barbarians fighting against or with ,Roman troops; this isn't gladiators fighting in the arena.
The invincible Gladiator and the Ten Gladiators, have a lot of arena combat in them. That's what I like.
Mid-day matinee , I use to watch him every weekend on TV. Remember this particular film, great memories, thank you for sharing these wonderful memories
These films were a lot of fun when I was kid. They still are. It was part of a "Ten Gladiators Trilogy" that also included Triumph of the Ten gladiators and Spartacus and the Ten Gladiators.
I remember seeing this movie on Saturday afternoons along with other sword and sandal movies which played every Saturday called Epic Movies. They were dubbed to English which made it easy for me. Great times nowadays just sports and informercials on every channel. No wonder the kids just play Xbox on weekends. We watched this and then recreated our favorite scenes using rulers and bath towels as capes.
