    Some good Ideas...
    about the door rubbing on the tarp. In the early days of camping a lot of old-timers would just put a caster wheel attached to the door. It would roll on the tarp as it opened...
    HC in Maine....

      Ive seen the caster wheel approach..and i thought about that... but i dot have one. so i improvised. Maybe it will work just fine..
      THnaks for watching

    I live in the Nevada desert where it rains five times a year and the wind shreds tarps to bits, so I will use a shade clothe first to allow the wind to pass and still carry a tarp for mainly on the ground.

    Wind would blow that off quick for sun shade only imo weight of water buildup would also pull it off bolt eyes with hooks would have been best

    Great Idea. I was waiting to see how you would handle the door lip. Good solution.

    I work with those magnets. i can get them locally.. would be stronger for sure

  • @theoptimisticskeptic

    If you go on Amazon and search rare earth magnets, they are very very strong and may have fit into that hole in the original magnets you bought. That would greatly increase the amount of weight the hooks could take before coming off.

    Well, certainly won't be an easy task to match the uneven spacing of those grommets when that tarp/awning material needs replacing. I would have measured. Would also have placed the grommets further in from the edge of the tarp to allow for some free material to go over the roof.

  • @KPrigz

    Do you have ideas of how to cover the gap between the edge of the tarp and edge of the trailer? Not sure if mounting those directly on top of the roof would be a good idea or not :S. Anyways thoughts?

    • @Krakology
      @Krakology  Před 8 lety +1

      +Kpri P i would take an extra tarp and cut a strip .. secure it to the existing tarp and roof with velcro
