He is an inspiration to alot of musicians young and old alike who play the instrument for passion or way of living. His sudden passing in dec last year has created a certain kind of void in the metal scene in general as confessed by fans and musicians alike. He arguably can be termed as 'the last true guitar hero/legend of this generation' #RipAlexiLaiho

Absolutely true, Alexi was the reason I picked up the guitar, I still play CoBs music to this date and people might not know this, but their music is phenomenal in terms of technical guitar skills and songwriting, especially in this "modern pop era"
The lead singer just passed away recently. I’ve been a fan of this band since 2007. Too sad for the metal community :(

RIP my man Alexi, a true inspiration of mine. This song is what got me into COB and what got me into his guitar playing. Incredibly talented and incredibly humble at the same time, it’s so sad to see a man of great quality and amazing intellect to go. Us guitar players show incredible respect to this guitarist for he has pushed many more guitarists to become what they are today. I didn’t realize how amazing this man was until he left this world. Easily in the top 10 of guitarists in the modern metal world. We love you Alexi, may you rest peacefully.
You need to do 'Silent Night, Bodom Night' by these guys. Killer, killer tune.

Underrated? I don't know about that. Children Of Bodom are a well-known band. Alexi has been one of the most influential guitarists for the old and newer generation. A legendary band for sure!

Just a tidbit of info, the keyboardist Janne Wirman has his keys in that upright position, so he can keep his wrists straight while playing. This helps when playing really fast and also makes long live shows less taxing to his hands. And of course besides all that it looks cool.
R.I.P. Alexi. Allu actually loved rap and we used to drink some beer and listen old school rap with him. He's favourite was N.W.A. but he started to dig in more when i played my vinyls for him. He fell in love with illmatic (Nas), midnight marauders(Tribe called quest) and music stylez(Three 6 mafia). You can actually hear him doing rhytm stuff with guitar what he would do with his mouth if he rapped. Sad that he passed too soon.

The "Spiting guy" is the Lead singer (You likely realized that) Alexi Laiho, and is the literal reason I learned to play lead guitar while doing vocals. That's what he does. He does many of the solos (sometimes him and the other guitarist will split the solo into 2 parts, and MANY times there will be a Keyboard solo that just sneaks its way into the guitar solo, just like in this song), as well as does all the lead vocals. Sadly he has passed away, but he is by far my favorite guitarist/vocalist combo dude in any band.

I saw COB twice live. Alexi was spit-spraying beer everywhere. At one point, Janne was pouring one down Alexi's gullet mid-guitar solo. Fuckin love these dudes. RIP, Wild Child.

Alexi might not be the greatest singer out there, but he's very talented guitarist. Been awarded as the best guitarist even. And what comes to this song, its one of my favorite, but its one of least impressive from their songs.

Name of the keyboardist is Janne Wirman and by the way Alexi is not spitting...he has water in his mouth and he is spraying it out like Tripple H style, if you know that wrestler. Alexi Laiho (the vocalist and guitarist) has passed away recently in the age of 41. Respect to his memory. He was considered as one of the best guitarist of all time. And his vocals is not growling, it's screaming. You could have find out something about COB before you are reacting to them. When you are not into metal that much, you will just say they are heavy, but you can't appreciate what kind of magic are they doing on stage.

Children of Bodom (named after the finnish lake "Bodominjärvi", where three camping teenagers camping were cruelly murdered in 1960) are pretty much the standard for the finish melodic death metal and well known in europe.
Drummer is Jaska Raatikainen, BTW. He's a machine. Super-long blistering drum solos. Amazing to witness live.
