- Adam Phillips, renowned psychotherapist, literary critic, and essayist, is the author of many books, including Winnicott (1988), On Kissing, Tickling, and Being Bored (1993), Darwin’s Worms (1999), Going Sane (2005), and the recent Missing Out: In Praise of the Unlived Life (2012). Andrew H. Miller, Professor of English at Indiana University, and the author of Novels Behind Glass (1995) and The Burdens of Perfection (2008), will talk with him about literature, ethics, and lives led and unled.
Adam Philips..you're a Genius..!!
Yes, he's brilliant. Kind too, did a lot of great work at Charing Cross Hospital in London, now these marvellous books, always avoiding showiness and conceit; not remotely condescending.
"If people would laugh at this joke that I love, I've made a world that I want to live in." ~Adam Phillips
That's great! Can I quote you on that?
I'm not sure Mr. Miller has the chops to handle this conversation. Adam Phillips is an immensely original thinker. the disparity is quite painful & makes it hard to listen to .
Philips, speak INTO the mike.
No, for a number of reasons, but one thing is, speaking directly into a microphone creates unwanted sounds such as 'pops', because of the air stream directly hitting the mic.
i have no idea how i ended here .
hello, my name is gunther jurgen and i'm a fellow of the society of oil changers at quick lube.
