Stuart Graham, don't take this wrong, but I'm on a totally different level of your thinking! This goes beyond just a sword in a stone. Maybe some fairytales are true, maybe some are not. There are things in this world that some can't wrap their minds around. God bless you.
I absolutely love the quirky and insightful tidbits you present but I am annoyed relentlessly by the usage of computer generated narration which absolutely butchers pronunciations and often renders the story line impenetrable. Please, for the love of the gods, find a way to have a human properly narrate these otherwise wonderful stories!
@ the type of metal is consistent swords fo the time, but dating actual metal itself by any other method is'nt easy. Besides, If you look carefully when the camera is at just the right angle you can see there might be a natural cleft in the rock the sword fits into. To one side there's even a little shadowy round indentation. At 3:14 you ca clearly see some kind of external man-made attachment around the blades,e perhaps to hold the sword in place. Wikipedia lists two different stories of how it got in there.

Theres also an allegorical story of the sword in the stone having to do with alchemical transmutation of the human body from a physical form that is dense into one of lighter spiritual essence
its a sword stuck in a giant petrified t-rex shit,I bet the guy was walking along and out of nowhere he gets slapped by the smell of shit goes over to it and sticks his sword in it then realizes its shit and says fuck that I have another one at home
It's just a sword in medieval era concrete. Could've easily plunged a sword into wet medieval concrete and make up a fairy tale about the Archangel Michael and the sword being plunged into solid stone just to have recognition and fame in the catholic church.
I saw a video on the historical truth of the sword in the stone. They used carved out stones to cast molten metals into shape to be worked and sharpened into the most advanced weaponry of the day. Their stronger alloys would hold an edge longer and were less likely to break. It was technology so advanced that it was thought magical.
huh, when I heard about this it said something about as long as peace reigns the sword shall remain makes me wonder if now someone could pull it out or if that rumor was fake
This sword in the stone is real. The story behind it, is a real story. We today will probably never know for fact how this came to be. But I do know for fact that that's a real 12th century sword in a real stone.
I will gladly narrate for you.The robo voice is annoying to most and is the subject of most of the comments. Then people will complain about my voice and ask you to bring back the robo voice.
how would one pull the sword out? especially if it's under constant guard like... what if it is a magical artifact awaiting it's owner but nobody can get to it.
The tale of Arthur is simply a story, not history. research it. there is nothing thus far that has shown it to be anything other than a tale...and one rewritten several times over several centuries
Arthur still predates San Galgano, as San Galgano' was born after the sinking of Lyonesse (11/11/1099) and Arthur existed when Lyonesse was still around, so by association, we know Arthur is older than San Galgano by that very fact alone.
The Historia Regum Britanniae was written 50 years before the records of the canonization of San Galgano, so the idea of King Arthur *is* older than San Galgano. But, I don't know if it mentions Excalibur being set into a stone. What I do know is that most of the Arthurian section of the Historia Regum Britanniae is thought to have been invented by Geoffrey of Monmouth, the author of the book.
Anna Starseed “king Arthur” was 14..15th century (never happened) San Galgano was 12th .... and they found human remains and carbon dated the sword......
Friend: this is the legendary sword! Me:how shall we get it? Friend:i ts on the rock but we cannot release it only the true king! Me: *breaks stone* Me: got the sword :D Friend: ummmm okay..

At 3;15 you can clearly see some sort of attachment put there perhaps to hold it in place.

huh, when I heard about this it said something about as long as peace reigns the sword shall remain makes me wonder if now someone could pull it out or if that rumor was fake
Why can't they break the stone instead of the sword XD
Does the computer generated voice allow you to somehow circumvent copyright laws and regs?
why would it be copyright violation? it's fair use.
Stop the computer voices. They continuously screw up.

I don't think the "Queen" of England would approve of any "sword" pulling...
A very rare bloodline indeed...
so nobody even the king of England haven't been able to get the Damn sword out of the stone! lol

If it is "magical" nothing will stop the owner.
Thank you that was a good one today with love and the lite an in me.
God bless you an your team.
Why no one mention the "lady of the lake"?
Very nice,
Time for the museum to make everyone try to make everyone pull the sword
I don't understand why they used an anvil in disneys sword in the stone
when will people realize that those robot voices only cause us to click off the video in disgust...
must be links sword
So why don't they just break the stone to get to the sword? just saying!
what if the person's a mute? can't complain then huh.
so....I'm guessing king Arthur was really Italian.😒
is the sword the ancient one or the fake?
Take that monk! The stone was silica tree before stone. js.
Wait wasn't the Excalibur returned back to the Lady of the Lake?
where to sword now
Please stop the computer narration. I get more focused on how annoying it is rather than actually listening to what its saying.
WhiteRabbitSAIL not everyone speaks English, dumbass
Arther was well B4 the twelth centurie ????
The tale of Arthur is simply a story, not history. research it. there is nothing thus far that has shown it to be anything other than a tale...and one rewritten several times over several centuries
The era of Arthur is hundreds of years earlier than San Galgano.
The so-called era of arthur has never been proven nor any written history from his time and remains speculation
Arthur still predates San Galgano, as San Galgano' was born after the sinking of Lyonesse (11/11/1099) and Arthur existed when Lyonesse was still around, so by association, we know Arthur is older than San Galgano by that very fact alone.

David wasn't there two swords the sword in the stone and the sword from the lake?
Anna Starseed “king Arthur” was 14..15th century (never happened) San Galgano was 12th .... and they found human remains and carbon dated the sword......

Me:how shall we get it?
Friend:i ts on the rock but we cannot release it only the true king!
Me: *breaks stone*
Me: got the sword :D
Friend: ummmm okay..
You can't break the stone.
Only the king can take it(my theory the king's soul will reincarnate and he/she will take the sword)
@@loriines
Even if you retrieve the blade from breaking the stone, it will be just to heavy for you to use.
This cannot be the story of author as that was written before this man
