Help! Our radishes bolted!

We've harvested some really beautiful and tasty radishes from our plot, but - just when we were developing a taste for them - our second sowing all bolted! Why?

This is my first time gardening and that is exactly what I did. I had one good radish and then bolting.

If your radishes have bolted consider yourself lucky. With a bit of patience you will eventually get loads of beautiful light green seed pods 1 to 2 inches long that are great in garden salads along with some younger leaves. You can buy radishes in season for next to nothing, but you can never buy radish pods in any season...which is why I grow them at home.
