Yeah I agree because she wore two pairs of white underwear/shorts so no one would see anything. Clearly she was being careful and it’s just her iconic Pose and people are sexualizing it
@@honey_luv99 That scene, from "The Seven Year Itch" (& the still photos from it) is among the most iconic of her entire career. It was considered one of the most memorable scenes because of the way the air from the subway grate blew her skirt up..very racy for the time & had everyone talking about her legs. A huge billboard of it was at the premiere of the movie, towering over the theater, & over the years millions of posters have been made of it. For many people around the world & several generations, if you mention Marilyn this is the image that comes to mind. That's why I mentioned the statue's legs. They don't really look like hers & I think a sculpture or painting of such a famous image could've been more accurate although the statue is still impressive. That was my point. If her face had been off I would've commented on that. Don't know if you know the story but that scene is also famous for causing marital strife for Marilyn. A huge crowd was watching as several takes were filmed. Her husband, Joe DiMaggio, was there & got more & more upset each time the wind/skirt effect was repeated. He was furious that it showed her underwear & didn't like the crowd's reaction each time. Marilyn later told friends that when they went home that night they argued over it & Joe hit her. The marriage went downhill from there. That scene & the stills from it are among the most memorable of her career for several reasons. Fans loved it but it turned out to be a bad moment for her & is recounted & discussed in all the biographies of her life. For most people those 2 or 3 shots from that scene simply showcase her overall beauty, sex appeal & glamour. As for my comment, it wasn't a concern as much as an observation.
At my school we do like a “wax museum” project in a certain grade and towards the end of the year we dress up as the person we chose(the whole project goes on all year) (had to be like someone who changed history like not Kim k) and she wasn’t on the list and I asked to be Marilyn Monroe, AND I GOT HERRR😭🫶🏼

This is what it means to be immortalized. Give something people will talk about long after your birth/death. Give a reason for your name to still be on people’s lips and your existence will never die.
This statue doesn't represent her but her role/character, but i think that people should still appreciate it. This is one of her most iconic moment of her carrier. If we talked about Marylin this pose and this smile always came first in my mind, she was beautiful in this scene and those pictures.
I hate when people don’t appreciate these iconic shots. She knew what she was doing and banking on it. She knew how to use her beauty. Yes she liked reading as well but this part of her was also her intelligent creation. She became an icon and we get to learn all about her.
She got beat by her husband because of this shot and had to change film locations cause men kept cat calling her, this wasn't iconic, it was a lot of abuse covered up by fame, beauty and sensuality.

Guys, as a Marilyn Monroe hardcore fan, this was her iconic pose. Everyone mainly knew her for this pose, and yes, it’s not the best, but it’s one of her iconic poses.
Okay. Imagine yourself as a famous and great actress with millions of fans. But when you die people decide to make a statue of yourself for people around the world to remember you for hundreds of years in this pose when you have thousands of iconic and beautiful poses. Would you feel good about it?
@Terri Larsen she had brown hair not red
@@armaan1391 i would be happy
@@armaan1391 yes actually I would feel good about it
Yeah I agree because she wore two pairs of white underwear/shorts so no one would see anything. Clearly she was being careful and it’s just her iconic Pose and people are sexualizing it
She was one of the most intelligent and extraordinary female personality of history 😍

My mom❤❤😢
That pose made me sad all the time, my mom even cries at it a bit :( they should have dons another pose for her ngl.
Why
Terrific! But they don't have the statue's legs looking as good as hers. What a beauty she was.
seriously? the legs should be the least of ur concern tbh

That scene, from "The Seven Year Itch" (& the still photos from it) is among the most iconic of her entire career.
@@deborahcornell171 i didn’t read anything (sorry) but the last paragraph, i get it but it’s ok. i’m open to different opinions:)
she deserved more then this. She was the icon of the 50s shes so beautiful.
Let her rest in peace that’s my girl
At my school we do like a “wax museum” project in a certain grade and towards the end of the year we dress up as the person we chose(the whole project goes on all year) (had to be like someone who changed history like not Kim k) and she wasn’t on the list and I asked to be Marilyn Monroe, AND I GOT HERRR😭🫶🏼

Marilyn does not deserve this nasty statue, but rather deserves the best and the most respect for her. Unfortunately, an unbeautiful way makes us remember her in the worst situations she was in.
She was my favorite actor😢😢
i still love it even tho i was not born yet i still love it
i dont care what you say about me or her
Even if its mean
i will not care i will still love it😢

One of the most beautiful people that EVER lived if she was still alive that would be amazing
كم كنت حلوة.اذا جازت عليك الرحمة الله يرحمك ويغفر لك
شنو اسمها؟
Everyone is talking about the pose but nobody is talking about the fact that we can't let her go and rest in peace like that's not even her real name if u really want to go and honor her legacy then honor the human behind the glitzy persona
Louder for the people in the back
Bbbellliiiisssiiiimmmmaaaaa ninguém depois dela, PERFECT
This is what it means to be immortalized. Give something people will talk about long after your birth/death. Give a reason for your name to still be on people’s lips and your existence will never die.
Me pregunto que pensaría ella ahora de cómo el mundo la recuerda y la admira...
Она видит все с небес❤
This statue doesn't represent her but her role/character, but i think that people should still appreciate it. This is one of her most iconic moment of her carrier. If we talked about Marylin this pose and this smile always came first in my mind, she was beautiful in this scene and those pictures.
Iconic❤❤❤
Такую женщину не уберегли.😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Most beautiful🧚♂️, prettiest💅, most gorgeous girl💍 to ever exist ✨facts✨
There was Jayne Mansfield.
@@whatnow548 Blondie never said she did anything wrong. And comparing soliders and this Marilyn scene doesnt even correlate. Unlike what the original comment said, Marilyn did not want to do this scene and did not benefit from it. If actors and actresses in this age cant stand up for themselves on set, how can Marilyn. Blondie is simply pointing that out. Marilyn "knew what she was doing"? She didn't have any other choice. Marilyn is no angel that everyone makes her out to be but she had no control on a lot of things happening in her career either.
@@blondie3743 i understand that. What came of it right afterwards was unfair and tragic. But her in this moment, she was being an entertainer and became immortalized. She was not only art, but her own artist.
Marliyn Manroe ❤❤❤❤
just remember she’s my cousin. (distant)
I bet atleast 1 child has went under the statue and looked up
classical music is one of my favourite genres even tho I'm not old at all cause it reminds me of the old days where people were happier back then.
