    hey man it's so great to getting back into rc after a break from too much work for the past 10 months. I recently found out about your wreck and I'm so glad you seemed to have fully recovered. I have all your esc and motors on my crawlers, keep up the amazing content you give us!

    Josh has said it is not necessary to put thread locker on the small bead lock screws.

      I've never seen anyone use loctite on rims till now.

      Yes…I use blue locktite on like 4-6 on the little outside rim screws …then locktite the hub screws but not the inner locking ring..

    Those are the original vxt tires. The vxt2's or the falken's are in a much stickier compound. Also the beadlock screws use a 1/16 driver, so be careful with the 1.5mm. Enjoying watching every video in this series.

    I really liked the tires but couldn’t find a proper seat in most wheels including/especially factory plastics from vp/incision. Old school just threw in a thin coat of paint on wheels and lock rings and allowed it to dry before mounting the tire. 👍🏽 Not a permanent fix as they eventually slipped but they lasted longer and looked cooler with some color splash.

    You need to get some BSI blue loctite. It's the best stuff around.

  • @Organized-_-Chaos

    A breakdown review of vanquish wheels would be nice I've looked at there website and I just get confused about what all you have to order for a full set of wheels like are they nickel and diming use for every part

    • @WillB.6759
      @WillB.6759 Před 10 měsíci +1

      Majority of high end wheels are that way. With vanquish you just need to get the hubs an hardware an outer rings

    • @Organized-_-Chaos
      @Organized-_-Chaos Před 10 měsíci

      @pastorwilliam6759 I've come to relise that, but their website for picking parts makes no sense like just make a standard rtr kit for wheels like everyone else and the pick every part option

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 10 měsíci +1

      They have a lot of wheels that are ready to go, minus hubs. The OMF are like builders kits though

    • @Organized-_-Chaos
      @Organized-_-Chaos Před 10 měsíci +2

      @HolmesHobbies the hubs are the biggest confusion for me
      I've ready the description for them, and I still don't understand. I don't know the measurements for my axles to know the width of them for the outside edge of the tire to tire to know witch hub I want like a label for stock witch hub size an then a positive or negative width or a just simplified stock, wide, extra wide notation would be great for people buying 200$ wheels for there rc that just want a scale licensed wheel

  • @rickwhitman6435

    Locktite on those little screws might not be the best idea if you ever want to change things up.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 10 měsíci

      I've lost too many beadlock screws to risk raw dogging it. Also had them seize up without some threadlock, which is worse imo

  • @mishmasta

    you don't want vents on a crawler

    • @jerryvolpini7987
      @jerryvolpini7987 Před 10 měsíci

      Depends on the situation. I'd say MOST comp crawlers have vents, recreational crawlers as well. If you have a trail truck or go through a lot of water then you don't want to vent the tires and/or wheels.

    For less than the price of a set of Vanquish wheels you can get a set of Probuild wheels who has adjustable offsets and an array of different alternatives of materials, colors and faces, compared to those the Vanquish ones look like a ripoff

  • @zsrc3623
    @zsrc3623 Před 10 měsíci

    Vanquish wheels are a waste of fucking money. Imagine spending hundreds on bead lock wheels that do literally the same as $50. Its all for showing off how much money one fan boy can spend.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I'll gladly buy made in USA when I can afford it. If we don't support companies, they simply won't exist anymore.

    • @zsrc3623
      @zsrc3623 Před 10 měsíci

      @@HolmesHobbies They are completely unaffordable. Borderline price gouging for 400% above the average market. I dont see you guys selling your crawlmasters for $60. See what im getting at? Not only that but they will exist 100%, they dont NEED to mark up their wheels so much, they have more than enough sales elsewhere to stay in business comfortably.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @zsrc3623 maybe you don't price cnc work as much as I do. It's typically 4x to 10x cheaper to make something in China, depending on how terrible the factory is. Vp machines the wheels in California. Hence, cost to manufacture is far higher than the $50 Chinese knockoffs on eBay. It's not price gouging, it's price of manufacturing in the USA with domestically sourced billet. And nobody has to buy it if they don't want to.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před 10 měsíci +1

      On the same topic, you can get a knockoff magnum for $50 or buy one from me for $175. We make them in the US. The knockoffs are Chinese. Nobody has to buy the real deal, but many still do
