It's not rocket science. Even when the others have a game that is their Achilles heel, they don't just complain or make the video stop to help them. (Aside from Jack "I'm going to go build a house" Patillo in Minecraft, but we have that great joke from it at least. He was in much less Minecraft videos after that.) Yes, any new game or console is different. It requires you to feel around, but most people get the feel for a controls in less than 30 minutes and there have been weeks worth of videos where Fiona uses the different controllers. As far as approaching games they can't seem to figure out or win, Gavin for instance, introduced "Front flip for style" since he couldn't keep up with the others and just went for messing with the controls and going all in on trying to make the others laugh doing his best to at least entertain as he continued to lose. Now "front flip for style" is something fun to do that the others like trying as well, even when they aren't struggling.

I think being unmotivated about playing a game you're not good at is normal. Maybe a disadvantage for CZcamsrs like AH who frequently play new games. Many of the games Fiona has been in, the others have all played and she hasn't. That said, Minecraft's controls for this are just moving, jumping and interacting. It seems reasonable to think it's quick to pick that part up.
Fun fact. Beyond the corrupted version(s) in the office and however old this save is, only one other copy of achievement city exists in the world. It was given out to a fan who won it in a drawing/sweepstakes at one of the rtx’s. No word if it still works

I'm really trying to like Fiona, but it just feels so sad with how much everybody else has to literally babysit her.. It doesn't seem like she's even enjoying it that much, more like she's having a panic attack. Why are they still trying to force this?
I legitimately *like* Fiona. The problem isn't that she's "bad" at the games -- do you remember the earliest Minecraft episodes AH did? They were ABYSMAL at the game. The problem is that they're trying to get her to play games they've ALL been playing for nearly a decade and it just doesn't work since she never really played them before, if at all. Like you said, it's basically them babysitting her and I can't imagine that's very fun for her, them, or us to do as content. A separate bonus series a la Let's Build might be interesting for those interested in seeing her as she learns the ins and outs, but in this video for example, things come to a grinding halt in a way that's kind of frustrating. I find myself zoning out or skipping ahead which is a shame. I don't know what the best thing to do would be. You don't want to throw your hands up and go "alright, never mind, we can't use you," because it's not her fault & she's a fun personality to add to the mix. One option is to pause/slow using her in content while they show her the games in more detail off-screen. Have her in videos with them, but are they also teaching her the games off screen? Does she have "homework" so to speak to go home, learn the games on her own as well? It really does feel like they're trying to teach her just in these videos. I get it, they're busy and are often gone but there's GOTTA be a way for them to give her a crash course in their main games (GTA, Minecraft, etc.) so that she can legitimately start playing with the rest. She doesn't have to be as good; Lindsay is notoriously bad at GTA races but that's okay because it doesn't grind the video to a stop since the rest can go without waiting for her (unless it's the occasional ""Lindsay Wins" video which is still different). Again, I want to reiterate that I like Fiona and think she's a great addition... but someone's got to sit down with her and teach her these games if they want to maximize her potential.
That's probably my biggest issue with her coming in as an addition though, they didn't put any thought into it and just threw her in the mix of things. I don't think it's just her skill level that's an issue, though it definitely doesn't help, but her attitude towards it in general that's my biggest problem. This video she stayed a lot quieter and didn't complain too much - but what did she add to the video content wise? AH used to take this very seriously, or at least seemed to when they first started, even when they were absolutely abysmal at the game. They all know that they don't have to be the best at the game, but they still have to try and add some substance to the video, which she just sorely lacks. I can understand an argument saying how it's because of her lack of skill and feeling so uncomfortable that makes it much harder for her to show off her personality and be an active contributor to the video - which, I still believe should have simply been thought of before, if not at least tried to warm her up to their style of content like they have with literally everybody else that they've brought on (i.e. Jeremy, Matt, Lindsay, Alfredo & Trevor - even Andy and Mica, whom I both actually personally enjoyed) They all went through a gauntlet of videos before making a decision either themselves or with the team on whether or not they should continue, and even then only Jeremy is a part of their core team now in a majority of the videos. For Fiona, they didn't even do that much it seems, I saw her in a couple of videos then all of a sudden they announced that she's officially on the team and in every video? Just doesn't sit right by what my vision of their standards had been previously. I kinda agree with some of your solutions though, that is if she's wanting to take this job serious. Matt himself said it during this video that he spent THOUSANDS of hours playing Minecraft hoping to get a job with AH, and here he is now after all his hard work. Why are they just handing it to her without her having to work or even seemingly want it? They could absolutely make a side series of a personal 'git gud' for Fiona just to catch her up, or she could actually make an active effort on her own for what her literal career is now. Even if she doesn't get great at anything, as long as she's able to contribute to the videos I think that everybody would be a whole lot happier. It's just frankly sad the way it's progressing currently, something has to change.
It bothers me that when she was starting it seemed like she never even watched the content. And with how many kids like Matt that want a job at AH it just seems like a slap to the face.

I don't remember Mica getting near this much hate though. I recall her reception originally being pretty well received actually, since (while she wasn't amazing,) she had a decent grasp on the games they played and had pretty solid banter with the others pretty early on. So far... Fiona hasn't done either of these, she's been decent at a few of the games they played, but her commentary is almost nonexistent (like this video where she was pretty much not in it at all when the camera wasn't on her run.)

Usually they treat new employees a bit differently for a little while, but with her they’re more careful and for longer, it’s awkward. Listen guys, she doesn’t need to be sheltered for being a girl, I wouldn’t want to be. Honestly to me it comes across far more sexist to treat her with kid gloves (if that is what’s happening). I'm really trying to like Fiona, but it just feels so sad with how much everybody else has to literally babysit her.. It doesn't seem like she's even enjoying it that much, more like she's having a panic attack. Why are they still trying to force this?
I legitimately *like* Fiona. The problem isn't that she's "bad" at the games -- do you remember the earliest Minecraft episodes AH did? They were ABYSMAL at the game. The problem is that they're trying to get her to play games they've ALL been playing for nearly a decade and it just doesn't work since she never really played them before, if at all. Like you said, it's basically them babysitting her and I can't imagine that's very fun for her, them, or us to do as content. A separate bonus series a la Let's Build might be interesting for those interested in seeing her as she learns the ins and outs, but in this video for example, things come to a grinding halt in a way that's kind of frustrating. I find myself zoning out or skipping ahead which is a shame.
I don't know what the best thing to do would be. You don't want to throw your hands up and go "alright, never mind, we can't use you," because it's not her fault & she's a fun personality to add to the mix. One option is to pause/slow using her in content while they show her the games in more detail off-screen. Have her in videos with them, but are they also teaching her the games off screen? Does she have "homework" so to speak to go home, learn the games on her own as well? It really does feel like they're trying to teach her just in these videos. I get it, they're busy and are often gone but there's GOTTA be a way for them to give her a crash course in their main games (GTA, Minecraft, etc.) so that she can legitimately start playing with the rest. She doesn't have to be as good; Lindsay is notoriously bad at GTA races but that's okay because it doesn't grind the video to a stop since the rest can go without waiting for her (unless it's the occasional ""Lindsay Wins" video which is still different).
Again, I want to reiterate that I like Fiona and think she's a great addition... but someone's got to sit down with her and teach her these games if they want to maximize her potential.

That's probably my biggest issue with her coming in as an addition though, they didn't put any thought into it and just threw her in the mix of things. I don't think it's just her skill level that's an issue, though it definitely doesn't help, but her attitude towards it in general that's my biggest problem. This video she stayed a lot quieter and didn't complain too much - but what did she add to the video content wise? AH used to take this very seriously, or at least seemed to when they first started, even when they were absolutely abysmal at the game. They all know that they don't have to be the best at the game, but they still have to try and add some substance to the video, which she just sorely lacks.
I can understand an argument saying how it's because of her lack of skill and feeling so uncomfortable that makes it much harder for her to show off her personality and be an active contributor to the video - which, I still believe should have simply been thought of before, if not at least tried to warm her up to their style of content like they have with literally everybody else that they've brought on (i.e. Jeremy, Matt, Lindsay, Alfredo & Trevor - even Andy and Mica, whom I both actually personally enjoyed) They all went through a gauntlet of videos before making a decision either themselves or with the team on whether or not they should continue, and even then only Jeremy is a part of their core team now in a majority of the videos. For Fiona, they didn't even do that much it seems, I saw her in a couple of videos then all of a sudden they announced that she's officially on the team and in every video? Just doesn't sit right by what my vision of their standards had been previously.
I kinda agree with some of your solutions though, that is if she's wanting to take this job serious. Matt himself said it during this video that he spent THOUSANDS of hours playing Minecraft hoping to get a job with AH, and here he is now after all his hard work. Why are they just handing it to her without her having to work or even seemingly want it? They could absolutely make a side series of a personal 'git gud' for Fiona just to catch her up, or she could actually make an active effort on her own for what her literal career is now. Even if she doesn't get great at anything, as long as she's able to contribute to the videos I think that everybody would be a whole lot happier. It's just frankly sad the way it's progressing currently, something has to change.
It bothers me that when she was starting it seemed like she never even watched the content. And with how many kids like Matt that want a job at AH it just seems like a slap to the face.

There are thousands on thousands of people out there who would be millions of times better as a personality in Achievement Hunter and yet they still hired Fiona. She's an absolute waste and should go back to doing whatever it was she did before.

Joshua Torres No, they brought in somebody who doesn't play /console/ games. Everybody else there has a long background of playing games with a controller, so they can usually figure out things pretty quickly even in new games, but she doesn't have that context. It's still new to her.

I recall her reception originally being pretty well received actually, since (while she wasn't amazing,) she had a decent grasp on the games they played and had pretty solid banter with the others pretty early on.
So far... Fiona hasn't done either of these, she's been decent at a few of the games they played, but her commentary is almost nonexistent (like this video where she was pretty much not in it at all when the camera wasn't on her run.)

I don’t have the problem with Fiona I’ve seen others have, but that is true. Usually they treat new employees a bit differently for a little while, but with her they’re more careful and for longer, it’s awkward. Listen guys, she doesn’t need to be sheltered for being a girl, I wouldn’t want to be. Honestly to me it comes across far more sexist to treat her with kid gloves (if that is what’s happening). Granted the current environment may be to blame, men can lose their jobs for looking at a woman wrong, maybe that’s why.
