ACC is NOT an arcade game at all. You can’t just jump into an open lobby and race. Especially with rookie drivers. The satisfaction comes from the hard work put in to getting to be a decent driver racing other decent drivers. Thanks for the video. 😁

GT7 is not a real arcade game either... Words have a meaning if you want pure arcade go play The crew or NFS, GT7 is between the 2. Moreover, for production cars, GT7 is one of the best in the physics of suspensions and mass transfers. He's much better than Asseto Corsa on the physics of production cars and I'm not afraid to say that.

Open lobbies are awful on ACC. Unfortunately at the moment, league races are the only way to go as the player base isn’t big enough for the competition server. A decent organised competition structure would make the game so much better.

I have only played open lobbies in acc on pc and have only had really nice races, fair and intense ones. In acc you have ratings that are crucial to have good numbers in if you want to race in leagues and restricted servers so players mostly play very clean in acc. Simrace games without ratings is just BS and chaos online

It's probably just a reflection of my mid-level skill, but I often get a bigger thrill out of simply getting a good lap on ACC, than having an entire good race on GT7. ACC brutally punishes sloppy racing lines and kerb abuse, so when I finally do nail a lap, or even some sectors, I get a much bigger sense of accomplishment as a "driver". For me, GT7 is a lot more "fun", but ACC is ultimately more "satisfying". Bottom line, I love 'em both, and can't wait to try them on a PS5.

Kireth you should improve your TR, SA etc. to 99 and higher than 80. With the current low rating you will always get in such low qualified lobbies. Furthermore ACC and GT7 has a different approach. ACC is much more realistic. If you would drive in real races as in GT7 (ramming other cars, bumping, driving against barriers etc) you would loose millions and after 3 races you would be disqualified for all car races potentially forever. I‘m driving both sims and love both

But after trying ACC, left me wishing GT could be a bit more immersive like ACC.. The tires, the audio (those kerbs🤤), camera options, the way it plays with the helmet camera, is just such a nice feeling. The pit radio! The manual ignition. The manual grid start. All things that make such a nice experience imo. Just wish it had a daily race and matching system like GT yes. Without a doubt its not as flashy as GT7 in looks, bit the driving model, sounds and feel are so much richer. If you play ACC for a few hours then go back to GT7 it feels dead and lifeless to me. I was an avid GTS player, but now I play ACC for driving, and GT7 as a more light hearted fun arcade experience. There is a similar system to DR in ACC, after a while you can pick lobbies with a minimum DR (SA) rating and get away from the beginner server chaos. The DR system is earned by driving behaviour over time, not just where you finish in a race so feels like a more thorough rating, but the end result is roughly the same

When I started the game first, I had to manually allocate the wheel inputs to car controls (which has changed since then). As I didn’t have any clue about the settings I played for 1 hour before recognizing that the throttle input needed not only to be allocated but calibrated. Not saying you didn't know but so many don't know about this. It's also taken over the FIA racing from GT. ACC is also best played in leagues and PC. It's also very harsh with safety ratings so bad drivers like forza or GT in ACC never get good lobbies hitting others will send your SA in the dumps unlike getting a time penalty in GT it will affect your lifetime stats in ACC.

I don't think in terms of online play there can really be a comparison on console, given GT7's safety/skill based rating system you can just jump into. You're just going to have a better competitive experience. Unless you can find a good league to play in where you can trust the drivers. ACC online is nearly as bad on PC as well. I had a race at Watkin's Glen where I went from 26th to 5th without a single real overtake (In a 80SA rated open lobby). And if you just race open lobbies, I hope you like Monza/Spa (and maybe now Watkin's Glen), because that is all you will likely be racing.
Really the only thing keeping ACC alive even on PC in my mind is LowFuelMotorsport's online ranked racing. It marries IRacing/GT7's ranked racing to ACC, and leads to some ridiculously close racing. Starting double file on a rolling start where the top 10 is within a half a second from qualifying, and 30 car grids? Yeah, that is cool. That being said, rookie leagues can still be problematic and ugly until you get your first 10 races out of the way. Because you actually have to be quick to qualify for LFM, rookie races are filled with fast guys that are really unsafe. And the non-rookie league racers aren't perfect either.
The only reason I am even considering playing ACC on my Series X again, is because I have friends still running an old league I started whom I raced in Grid 2019 and PC2/3. They've made the switch permanently to ACC. So once 1.8 is released for console, I may go back to race with them.

It’s the black name plates for me to start. GT7 has transparent ones with country flags, so more info but just doesn’t get in the way, where as ACC’s black ones just block the view and get multiple cars in front of you and poof, there goes the top of your screen filled with blacked out names. Just more rough visually. There needs to be a good mix of visual and technical and ACC is just missing that. GT7 nails the visuals but for me is missing it on the audio side. Cars in GT7 sound “generic”, where as ACC cars are crazy and sound like dragons waking up…… anyways, I agree and think ACC is just too “ugly” and unpolished to fit my eye enough to care about how it drives. If you're driving in a league, which I highly recommend, ACC is far and away a much better driving experience. Yes, GT7 has a shiner and smoother look, but the actual driving experience is massively better in ACC. Stay away from public lobbies since the match making isn't like GT7 where drivers are grouped by ability. You're certainly going to be grouped with a noob and/or reckless driver that will ruin your race at the start. The driver community also isn't a large, so those bad drivers really stand out in the much smaller crowd. Thus, open lobbies in ACC are often a mess.
GT7 serves the "jump in and race" community, which is fine. It does that job just fine. If you're wanting more, then go to ACC for that. Find an ACC league, join their Discord, and get into their cadence of races. You'll probably need to schedule it into your life, which (again) is where GT7 shines as you can just jump in whenever you have free time. For me, I race ACC once a week in a league; it's a deeper racing experience. GT7 allows me to jump in for a half hour here and there when I have time and that's fine too. There's a lot of overlap between the two platforms, but they certainly do serve very different crowds and have very different overall experiences.

I don't think it can as ACC is much more niche. It was designed with only one purpose. And hardcore sims require a lot of effort to get into. More than Sport Mode which already requires dedication.
When ACC got the FIA license we had the usual people slamming GT7, even people with no interest in racing (opposite console fanboys), but truth is ACC is more suited to FIA license because the GT3 lineup in it is closer to what you see in real races. Whereas GT has a lot of wacky stuff like convertible Golfs.

Granted the graphics on ACC aren't up to the GT7. But what are we here for? Graphics of the background, or physics of the race car and such? I noticed that you were able to step on the gas exiting the corners without fear of the car spinning out from under you unpredictably, which is still an issue in GT7. I also noticed you did not have any major surprises when using the curbs. The overall physics in ACC seem to be more on point with a "real driving simulator" than what's been patched three times now since the release of GT7, and yet somehow every MR,FR,RR drive RACE car in GT7 is still a massive drift or donut machine on corner exit.

    • @Cal3000
      @Cal3000 Před 2 lety +1

I think GT7 just suffers from bad setups with the MR cars and is heavily track dependent how well they will perform. With the BOP, it sucks that the tunes are locked in. I've driven the R8 Evo in Barcelona in both game and the GT7 setup feels like the safe setup in ACC with a TC setting of 4 or 5. But yeah, with no knowledge of ACC detailed physics, it fairly easy to jump from GT7 towards it. GT7, while not as detailed, does a good enough job with the race cars.

I saw ACC in the PS+ catalog and d/l, when opening it up and trying it out I felt little overwhelmed, no a lot overwhelmed. It was like getting a basic pilot license with a small plane, and then getting into a big 747 and having to fly on instruments. There are too many things that I need to pay attention to and cannot do that AND drive the car at same time. I am grateful that Gran Turismo had not got this technical and complicated over the years.
Another thing is not being able to adjust the controller ( do not own a wheel nor do I want to) to how you want to use it to drive, I personally have dexterity issues (arthritis at times) and i find what works best for me is to use the right stick for gas and brake and left stick for steering, and all they give you is the choice of stick left or right for steering but you must use L2 and R2 for brakes, I have troubles doing that. So ACC will get buried in my library maybe I might try it again but more often not I will be doing Gran Turismo 7

ACC rewards dedication to learn a track and also rewards clean and respectful driving, you have SA score, you then also have your Trust score etc… might not be as good graphic wise as GT7 but it’s way better in car handling, sound. I liken the difference in game to Call of Duty, except in reverse......people who have played CoD multiplayer on a console know the controls are tight, the gameplay is frantic, everything just feels right.....despite the fact that the community complains about the game all the time. But when you play Call of Duty multiplayer on a PC something just feels off, almost like the game is missing features that make up the experience. That is what it is like to play ACC on console vs PC. Yes its the same game, but not even close to the same experience.

ACC I find at given time better. The menus are better at GT7 so what do I play most, well as the FFB was broken at GT7 I did play ACC, since this is now ok again after 1.17 I play mostly GT7 again, why because I have limited time and I want to just turn on and play a B or C daily race and with ACC it is to much to do and the layout sucks. If I had time I would play both on ps5 50/50. What would be great on GT7 if in stead of 3 daily races they would have like 6-9 and you get your time trail lap time just if you drive the same car (you could of course have more then just one car for the tail lap time but lap time for car X and you start with car X in a race, this is the lap time you will have, for car y = lap time y, would be fair like in race c we all pick the fastest car for the qualification and then we change the car for better fuel saving etc etc make no sense of all is actually rubbish), for ACC just adjust the graphics here and there and the menus and it would also be mega

ACC is a REAL sim vs GT7 which is a cash grab. If GT7 added better lobbies, more variety of racing and fixed that glitch PP system it MIGHT compete. They won't kids are spending MILLIONS on new cars and the roulette system is rigged. GT7 was soo hopeful for me, but the money system is just so damn scummy.

The graphics aren't as good as GT, but everything else craps all over GT. Like having full mirrors in cockpit mode instead of them being half cut off screen like any basic game should. GT is a joke/insult with endless faults & ridiculous options/no options.

They'd need to implement BoP races online for it to compete with GT7, that will never happen as the developers are too anal about set-ups.

I agree. Cars in ACC feel heavy and planted. In GT7 the cars feel a bit flimsy and floaty

BOP is inherent in ACC as it is modelled after a couple of actual GT series You can’t change HP, weight, tyre compounds etc. (Except for wet tyres) The things you can change are available to all of the different makes of cars within the series and I don’t think they are considered “performance upgrades

@@1gazrobo1 I'm talking about how BoP is done in GT7 Sport mode. They don't allow tuning in certain lobbies, the only thing you can change is tires. So for ACC they could lock lobbies to the aggressive set-up, with no tuning, apart from tires, so nobody gains an advantage from tuning, it's an even playing field. This is what separates GT7 from every other racing game. A lot of people don't have the time to do tuning, having the option of jumping into a fair competitive game quickly is very appealing.
