I’m a 24 y/o graduate student and we sometimes get ice cream/pizza “parties” High schools really need to step it up and show their students appreciation. You never get too old to be celebrated for your efforts!
The only reason higher grades don’t do this is because it cost way more out of pocket for teachers! A pizza party for 30 kids vs 130 kids and the logistics of planning that for 5 or 6 classes is way harder. I promise they want to celebrate you! It’s just way more complicated and harder to accomplish planning and money wise
i wanna be a teacher when i'm older and i wanna do this for highschool students so they can experience it in their last days of school, would i be allowed to?

Or you could just stick on a movie and give them a snack like my high school teachers would do, but to take them outside for a picnic? I’m afraid there’s not much time in the period before the bell rings to do this for high schoolers.
That hug got me omg. My parents were amazing but not every family is perfect and I had such a hard home life sometimes, some of my teachers were truly a light in my life and that lil hug made me cry remembering it all ❤

im graduating in a week. going to disney for gradnight tomorrow, and i cant help but share the joy these kids are feeling. they have so much in front of them, so many memories and events to look forward to and many more emotions to go through. and so do i, im not done yet but im glad i still feel the joy of going to spend the day with my friends in an amusement park, but even if i couldnt, id love to spend it at a pizza popsicle picnic. i thing i would feel the same.
Teachers like this took the edge off the neglect at home for me. Thank you for being someone that makes babies feel like they matter when no one else does that for them.

This makes me teary eyed.. As a woman who never had a sensitive and fun teacher, i always wished for this... especially getting older and being in high school... everyone and myself acted like it was just easier to just grow up. Because teachers stop treating you like a kid.... which is needed.

I do pizza parties for my choir mostly adults but a couple youngins (Catholic Church) when we get through really challenging pieces. everything we sing is in Latin for special day High Mass (which we’ve got one coming up June) so another pizza party will soon follow I was just trying to hype them up last night because one of the songs “lauda sion” just one of the 18 sing that day is over 6 minutes long. And it is …. So difficult it’s hard for even me to wrap my head around … so a pizza/ cake party is definitely in order!! Pray for us that we can get through this in these 2 short weeks please 😅🙏🍕 .. 😅 I’m very exhausted..
There is nothing more fulfilling and special to me than working in a title 1 school and hyping those kids on surprises like that. Teaching is amazing!!
My school did this for us but we had the local community pool less than 10 minutes away so they would rent it out for us and have an end of year school pool day and it was always a blast! They also had gymnasium movie days where they was a giant projector they would play new movies on and all of us students were allowed to wear pjs and bring in pillows and blankets to truly relax while watching the movies. These were definitely big events so obviously they were a once a year each thing, one before Christmas and one before summer vacation but we also had small scale events likeclass pizza parties. These would be anywhere from 2 hours to half a day starting after lunch and we'd be allowed to bring in movies, multiplayer games for consoles and board games and just enjoy ourselves. My school experience was vastly different than the other schools even in my own district. It was shocking to have that realization.
What was so sad was how tiny that kid that hugged her was! Why do they have go through this kind of testing! I’m glad she is doing this for them after that!
It's crazy that this is the exact type of thing that places of business give their adult employees instead of raises....😂😂😂 But all jokes aside the kids sounds super excited!
I remember in elementary we would walk from the school to a small park every year after testing. Then in middle school we would go to the pool the last week of school. High school we just had catered lunch and icecream. But it was so fun in elementary and middle school. Something everyone looked forward to.

I remember field days at school, was always the best~ running laps and playing outside games, then getting pizza and treats. Plus it always happened on a super hot day which is rare where I’m from, which you know they had the stuff ready just waiting for a sunny day to finally hit🤣🙏
I love teachers like this honestly you remember them for the rest of your life my 4th grade teacher had his write letters that she said she will mail to us in 10 years most of the kids probably forgot about them not me I waited 10 years for that letter and I finally got it and I was so happy and I couldn't believe she actually sent it and she must have moved to Japan because that's where it was postmarked from..... Crazy❤
I come from a generational time where our government used to pay for governemnt schools to go on vacations/field trips. It started 3 times a year for esch season 2 small one large, plus other classes rhat had their own field trips like language classes (you actually had to pay for those because its out of country). Over time our funding became scarce, turned into twice a year and once a year and this was by my senior year of high school and this was predominantly for middle and elementary schools. I was just still in the know. That was 10 years ago... I remember my parents getting a news letter from the governemnt school system about how funding was cut and they would no longwr provide school trips outside of what was already scheduled due to insufficient funds.. after that police statted getting more funding and other dumb uneeded projects, not even pot holes have been fixed here. Our children need this more then we do... I dont understand. Dont even get me started on kids needing to pay for food. School is supposed to be the one place a child shouldn't worry.
