I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. True. Probably because all SM rappers entered the company as vocalists and were later trained to be rappers. I know Chanyeol wasn't a fan at first, he really wanted to be a vocalist, but both him and Lay ended up doing more rap/hiphop songs in their solo projects than anything vocal heavy. I guess they enjoy that style now :)

To tell you, Sehun can sing. It's just that SM doesn't give him more lines. I think the song that he have more lines is Obsession. But you'll hear more of his voice on EXO-SC (Sehun and Chanyeol sub unit). EXO SC mostly compose and produce songs by them, themselves.
Exo-SC is the best thing sm has done the last year like we finally got to see sehun shine and have lines

Jeff Avenue this was a section from their concet exordium in 2016, Sehun just recently gained a huge amount of confidence in 2019 especially after his debut with EXO-SC. you really should listen to what a life album, it’s crazy their album might be one of my favourite exo release so far beating any exo / solo albums
Jeff Avenue because this medley only included their slow rnb type of songs and usually sehun doesn‘t get lines in those or just like one. in call me baby he has lines which they performed but they only performed the chorus part and ended there, this performance was only vocallybased, sehun is only a subvocalist. you can still hear him sing in songs like „Wait“, „Sing for you“, „Beautiful“ etc.

Yes, Chanyeol also has a beautiful singing voice! He also plays a whole bunch of instruments, he's a multi-talent. You should check out some of his singing, he has some covers of songs and there are probably compilation videos out there, too :)

I suggest you check out TVXQ (when they were 5 members). They have a lot of acapella singing and blending in their live concerts and guestings. You can also check them live, they are really breathtaking. 😊

you are soooooo right!!!! It was TVXQ who got me into Kpop. actually they are still the strongest vocalists as a whole packages re acapella and harmony, especially their Japanese songs.

kai's voice is so underrated. he doesn't have strong vocals like chen, baekhyun, or d.o but he has a very distinct voice. i really like his voice in the song "wait" in their don't mess up my tempo album. such a beautiful song! even d.o said kai's voice really suits that song.
kai was supposed to dance with sehun in lady luck, but he's injured here so he can't. in their acoustic medley in japan, kai was able to perform. also, the video was cut abruptly because the second half of lady luck is not acoustic anymore. they're gonna perform the normal version of the song with the choreo.

Kai, sehun, lay and chanyeol's vocals are SOOOOO underated
Actually kai dances with sehun during lady luck as well but at that time he had an ankle injury so he couldn't dance for 4 months :( btw sehun and chanyeol are singers too, chanyeol actually auditioned as a singer but sm turned him into a rapper. And sehun, well he barely had lines during exos early years but he had been taking singing classes in the recent years and he has a beautiful tone! You can hear him sing is exo-sc songs (a subunit with sehun and chanyeol). Anyway, thanks for the reaction!
Also, right after EXO debuted, Sehun still had a little lisp on his S's during that time that sounded more like "th". People teased him for it.😔 But Sehun has improved a lot with that and his singing. 😊

That's a subject of debate and personal opinion. I, and a lot of others, prefer the one in Seoul. They seem much more relaxed and fun, and Lay's solo is also in this one.

They will always be vocal kings!!!! Also!! Jongin is preparing for his solo album and we will be getting a second exo-sc album soon too! But yes chanyeol can sing and his voice is beautiful!! Sehun has always worked really hard to improve on his vocals as well over the years and it's been wonderful to see him grow

Your reaction when Chanyeol started singing lmaooo he actually does the most background vocals on their albums on top of his own main lines. If you ever hear a low voice in the harmonies you can guarantee it's him! He entered SM with intent to be a vocalist but became a rapper along the way.
Can't guarantee it's him. Sehun and Kai both have lower voices too, and Chen can hit the lowest note in all of EXO. D.O. also has some lower parts. I used to think everything low was Chanyeol, but was proven wrong too often to be able to assume that anymore.
@@jraven4567 there's credits for additional background vocals in their albums, which includes some other singers (usually producers who were singing on the original demos and were kept in the final track, such as Adrian McKinnon or Yoo Youngjin). Chanyeol is consistently credited on those while the other members usually aren't.
Tust me Jeff Sehun CAN sing! Really well. There are compilations on CZcams and he's also sung on title tracks such as their Christmas/winter song Universe (which I HIGHLY recommend)! All of exo are vocal kings👏🏻

i loved it when you said sehun was one of the main dancers since a lot of fans tend to classify him as a lead dancer (which was his position during their first years as idols.) sehun has worked hard over the years and it's very obvious how he improved if you really pay attention, thank you!
sehun still is a lead dancer though. Lay and kai are the.main dancers and that's a fixed position. Sehun is a great dancer but his skills dont compare to the other two. I am not hating or spiting him but that's the truth. Sehuns skill in dancing is still above the others, so don't worry :)

I remember you mentioned about their acting in Monster MV, just wondering if perhaps, you consider reacting to their actings too? Especially D.O. nonfans knew about kyungsoo as an actor more than an exo member lol, he's maybe a rookie but a great actor that led him to win awards and broke the idol's stereotypes that they couldn't act that well. He actually has a circle along with the veteran actors.

Sehun's voice is so low for EXO songs. In Obsession album he and Kai had more lines than previous songs. I heard techniques I never heard from them before. You can hear Sehun sing more in EXO-SC unit.

The voice of D.O is really unique it can be very tender, rough or sexy. But the most important thing is that it makes the heart flutter not every vocalist is capable of this.

hmm i don't know... i feel like D.O. was actually giving the right emotion for that part. It's a very relaxed, basking in contentment feeling (the lyrics were about just being together with a loved one every day). And I think it has more to do with how reserved he is rather than his great singing hehe. He was looking at the fans.

This makes me emotional for a bit. I've been a fan since 2013, just a year after their debut and I've seen their journey as an idol and it just brings me back some memories.
D.O. did that lick towards the end when Sehun was dancing.
Also, yes, Sehun has been a rapper and part of dance line since then but he can sing too! You can listen to EXO - SC (Sehun & Chanyeol)'s 'What A Life' album. He sang a lot there, him and Chanyeol.
U can tell this acoustic sessions is kyungsoo play field..kyungsoo in his elements, what more u can say...all of members also does great job, everyone in exo can sing like no tomorrow...

-Chanyeol is a really good singer, but since deep voice aren't as commercial in SK, he doesn't sing as much as other member (all he raps great so...)
-Sehun isn't the strongest vocalist, but I've seen clips of him singing in their realities and he has a gorgeous tone, but he's more of a Rapper and Dancer
-Kai sings more in recent releases, he is also a rapper, now he's main dancer, vocalist, rapper, center and face of the group. He was supposed to dance with Sehun, but was injured at that moment.
-They're all great singers, and good dancers, they improve in every era and that's something amazing ♡

They're are the actual best Vocalists in Kpop, and that whole concert was one of the best experiences I've had in my life (I am a big fan of Vocals too)
when it comes to acoustics both exo and seventeen have my heart THEYRE ABSOLUTE GENIUSES and sehun CAN sing but he doesn't often join in for acoustics pretty much everyone in exo can dance, sing, and rap but a lot of them have come SO far since their debut
The video cuts abruptly cause that's the end of the acoustic part, but they go on to finish Lady Luck; actually, right where it cuts is before Chanyeol stands to sing his part!~
Sehun's dance solo is actually supposed to be a dance duet with Kai, but Kai had just injured his ankle before this taping & would not be able to dance for months.
There is a video of the Japan performance of Lady Luck that has both the acoustic part + the rest + Kai is able to dance^.^ If you watch the Japan video that's the acoustic session (which is shorter this time😢) + Lady Luck + What If... you'll hear *all 9* sing~~~^.^

There is still one more song in that accoustic session and there is also another version of that accoustic session with complete performance. EXO is really a unique talented group that they always setting the standard so high for kpop. They literally do any genre, experimenting and not afraid of doing against the mainstream without sacrificing the quality of their music and I am so proud of them👍👏❤️

Well Jeff, almost all the members are a main vocalists first before they became main dancers. Like their main rapper which is chanyeol is a vocalist when he auditioned to sm but in the end sm chose him to became the main rapper of the group because of his husky sexy voice and physical appearance. Kai is a dancer from the very start, he's been dancing since he was a child & so as Sehun their lead rapper, but Kai & Sehun can also sing surely if only sm gave them more lines though i understand because they're the group main dancers & lead rapper. Suho is a theatre musical actor that's why, he's exo's lead dancer/lead vocalist & A LEADER. Xiumin's voice are soft, control & he can also play it to match his members voice, he's a sub-rapper/lead dancer/lead vocalist. Lay's also have a powerful voice, he's voice is unique that he can make a cover song as his & own it because of his unique voice, he's one of the main dancer btw. AND of course THE ORIGINAL MAIN VOCALISTS of the group are D.O, Baekhyun & Chen, i know for sure you know already why they're the powerful trio of the group, their voices are insanely good, a god-tier.
EXO never disappoint when it comes to vocals. They may not be the best dancer group but they're surely the BEST VOCALIST GROUP.

Ooohhhh how I love this concert and the acoustic medley is my favorite part in it. EXO are EXO. I fell in love with them specifically for their music. In my opinion, this group of young men has some of the best vocals on today's kpop scene. And listening to their acoustic performances is a form of real enjoyment for me.
