- This is a quick guide how to unlock your auxiliary heater without visiting the dealership! If you have permanent fault codes you cant get rid of you should try this.
VCDS is a scan tool made to work specifically with VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat etc. A great tool as well when it comes to coding and sorting out problems like the one in the video. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Hi @EFreddy! Hope u will assist. VW Technical could NOT be any more unhelpful. I think it may be related to an auxilliary heater (I could be totally wrong though)
Car is VW Passat CC (2015) 358 2.0TDi
I have error P302D00 PASSIVE/ABIOGENESIS High Heat Output Relay Short Circuit To Ground.
The error is easily replicated ieverytime f I set the temperature of heater blower to anything above LO and it started happening since ambient temperature has dropped sub 5°C.
Once the car has reached an operating temperature that shows the oil temp on cluster I can set the blower to a higher temperature and it will not generate error (I assume blower is now using coolant heater matrix for warm air?)
Any idea what is the cause and possible remedy for this? My car DOES NOT have a seperate switch otlr settings for any sort of "parked winter time heater" like I have seen in some other videos.

Hi, I have 01488 fault code - g241 sensor- showing coolant temperature at 150 C’ all the time. Can I do something via VCDS or it will work only with replacement the sensor?
Hmm, that fault code usually occurs when there is a shorted or open circuit. Sounds like wiring to the sensor itself. Does it say "010 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent" by any chance`? :)
Hei! I have a 2012 touran bmt highline but no webasto functions,switch or buttons. But theres a webasto machine installed in the engine bay. Is it possible to activate this using the vcds?
I’m trying to find out if I have a webasto installed, where in the engine bay are you looking?

Webasto works automaticaly, when outside temperature is 4 degrees or lower.

Hej! Jag bor i Skåne så har lite svårt att hjälpa dig tyvärr. Vad jag känner till så är det enbart ett originalinstrument (odis, finns hos samtliga vag-verkstäder) och Vcds som kan göra detta. Då det är ett mjukvarulås som man "kodar" bort låset på enkelt förklarat.
Finns kanske ngt lokalt forum, ngn fb-grupp lr dyl som kan hjälpa dig? Så finns kommandona här i videon om de är osäkra. :)
hello, I have a vw t5 2005 1.9tdi with the original heater and there is no place to connect it. I think from the aspect that never worked. the commands are manual. Can you help me to understand how I get the park exhaust to work?
Hi Gold! Do you have a read out of the fault codes? They can give you a good idea of were to go next. If it's a car with a high amount of miles on it. Soot in the chamber is a common problem. Causing the heater to lock itself.

Hi. Great video! I Have a 2010 Skoda Yeti. Now the aux. heater disappeared from the meny in the display. It that because the heater is in locked mode? How do I unlock it on this car?
Thank you! In this case for starters you need to read out your fault codes. For this you can use any decent scan tool. If the icon have disappeared there will most likely be an answer there, telling were to go next.
Regarding the unlocking thing however a Vcds-program shown in the video is needed.
@@EFreddy Thank for your reply. I did read out fault codes. There was only one: P242A Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 3. Is the VCDS something I can download?
Where can i buy that obd2 diagnostic tool?

Do you mean the water system to the heater? In that case the easiest way is to remove one of the water hoses coming to the recirculation pump located close to the heater itself.

On the Q7 4L it's channel 007. Then save with a 1 as the video shows :)
Hi sorry I didn't explain myself well. the van comes with the original system assembled but inside the car there is no button and we don't even know how to turn on the exhaust 🤷♂️. We don't know if it works automatically or not. no controller .

hello mate, first I have to replace the Recirculation pump and then activate the Heater Unit??

Hey! Thats correct. Replace the pump before going further. Keep in mind that these cars often have more than one recirculation pump. The one most known for failure often is located close to the heater itself. On most Vw it's somewere in the neighborhood around the right wheel arch.
If you happen to order the wrong one online or something like that - the head of the pump is removable - simply take the old one and swap it.

I have vw passat b6 when i try to turn on auxiliry heater it turn off automatically and screen shows aux heating system error apart from that last month my car has aux heating menu in the screen but now there is nothing can you please help me
For starters you need to use a scan tool to do a read-out of the car. That'll give you an heads up on whats wrong. :) Without a reading your guess is as good as mine.
Common is some of the issues mentioned in the video. Worn out glow plug, damaged chamber etc.
