Wondering why you didn’t back off the drag on that Muskie . I’ve caught and released 3 healthy muskies on whopper ploppers by loosening the drag and letting the fish tire its self out .

Caught 7 musky in my life. All if them fishing for other species. Cass Lake in Minnesota while fishing for perch. Wisconsin river fishing for smallmouth (4 times). Fox river in Illinois fishing for smallmouth. Milwaukee river while fishing for smallmouth.

line too tight right by the boat is how most people snap off. Muskie is common for that happening you gotta take time..let them run at least once

Hey man avid musky fisherman here! I wanted to just pick you brain along what stretch you caught that Muskie at. If you don’t wanna let me know it’s not a big deal. Also that smallie was a tank dude. Biggest I got for a smallie in my life was a 22 1/2. Killer smallie again man.

Your title isn't wrong. I specifically target muskies quite frequently and never even see any, then as soon as I switch to bass gear I'll hook one.

How often do you fish the river in that area? Do you always fish without a musky net? Why would you only have one Whopper Plopper? Did you ever have a musky come up and eat one of your smallies?
